  1. Yeah, see the photo where it's shining in the sink full of water? Right there are also chromed fittings and a misstep with the angle would have had it right back in your eyes. I have more masters and doctorate physics courses in optics and lasers than I can shake a stick at, and I still get creeped out from the things that happen in the lab under controlled circumstances. You have exactly TWO eyes. Treat them like they're precious. (this also explains my stick-in-the-mud attitude about fake sunglasses)
  2. Welcome aboard Nick. Glad to have you!
  3. You can alter the angle yourself. A plate of glass will press it flatter and the neck of a bottle can help you dome it up. Be careful, don't bend it.
  4. AA meetings aren't only for people willing to admit they have a problem. I used to think they were until I had a few long conversations with people that attend. They're a place for people to go and find a brotherhood to stand with them. If that makes it easier to figure out what's going on, it can't hurt to try, eh?
  5. TB, I am nowhere near the smartest guy in the room, but I've learned a few things. One is, if you're asking questions like that, chances are you have a reasonable concern. If there's a concern, then something deep in your mind is trying to get your attention. It's putting two and two together and coming up with an answer it doesn't much like. That's a good thing. Your subconscious is sending you a signal that it's worried. My advice... pay attention to it. I have some friends here that are in recovery and swear by the AA program. Go find a meeting and give them a chance. If you really do have a problem, they'll do anything to help you. If you don't have a problem you'll make some amazing friends and still be welcome to attend. Steel sharpens steel. Find some steel to stand with you.
  6. The backs of the lugs on Freddy's watch are nicer than the whole watch I'm wearing today!
  7. Funkadelic! Love that vibe.
  8. My suggestion: looks yours over very closely, then put it away and go look at a gen, just as closely. You might be surprised how hard it is to tell them apart. Everyone has to decide how to interpret reps. It's a very personal decision. I'd never advise anyone to attempt to pass one off as "real". But there are lots of other reasons to own them... in my case I can enjoy something as a rep I would NEVER be able to enjoy as a gen in real life. It's "art" to me. For a piece that's readily available .... the equation changes a little. Some use reps to stretch out the life of their gens, wearing the rep most of the time and its gen cousin in the safe on special occasions. Others view it financially: a service for one of my rare gens will cost more than buying 4 nice reps that are 95% as accurate. Guess which ones take the bulk of my abuse? It's a conundrum as old as the hills. What is an "original" anything? How different is a Tudor ETA movement from an O. Frei ETA movement? What makes it "original Tudor"? Murky waters, my friend.
  9. Ho (think: Minnie the Moocher by Cab Calloway and the Blues Brothers!)
  10. It was set "hidden" while we pursue some avenues behind the scenes.

    Modders?

Hey buddy welcome back! Great to see you again!
  12. Perfect. Gob it in there and clean around the edges before it cures. Now be patient and let it harden.
  13. You're such a gentleman Legend... I told one of them in PM that we'll have none of this bickering here. I also locked the other thread and said IT ENDS NOW. FF and Accu ... read between the lines. Take my advice.
  14. The argument here ends now. Both of you knock it off.
  15. Great minds think alike! 1665 in the Arctic today.
