The Yuki is pretty darn good, but there are differences between it and a gen Fat Font. And MANY hundreds of dollars in price. Take a look at these, one is a Yuki and the other is gen fat font. Which is which?

I just want one thing for Christmas.... that job. Notice the marks on the pieces he's cut already? He's probably got a 32" or 36" bar and he's rolling the logs to finish the cuts. Nice. I use a 32" bar and I rarely run into something I need to roll anymore. Of course living where I do, an 18" tree will be about 200 years old. Here are some photos that show the difference. The big difference between a 702 and 703 is the added o-ring around the outside base of the 703 tube. So the inside of the 703 crown has to be smooth there to seal against the o-ring. The 702 has no o-ring in that position so the inside of the 702 crown is threaded to the base. Here's a cutaway view of a 702, you can see the threads at the base of the tube, and matching threads inside the crown. It looks like the brass threads extend to the base on the inside. Is that so, or is there a smooth area below the threads, that would seal against an o-ring? That tells you if it's a 702 vs a 703. You'll need the corresponding tube. Also looks like you'll have trouble getting it to screw onto a stem.

Like you, the thing that bothers me most about it isn't that it went Prodigal, it's that now it refuses to play guitar like it's supposed to. Grrrrrrrrr, all that muscle memory down the drain. Soup, eh? You know a good single malt could almost be categorized as "grain" ... hence healthy for you.

You say you have a broken tree somewhere? I'll be right over with my chainsaw. I'm glad you survived the impact. I have some horrendous photos of friends being impaled by broken bike parts as they crashed. Momentum and solid objects are not good bedfellows. Back to the drug-addled discussion of percentages, maybe it's easier to categorize by "distance" instead? I bet there's a geometric increase in expense to make a franken that's believable as you move up between levels: In the Elevator $ Arms' Length $$ In the Hand $$$$ Under a Loupe $$$$$$$$ Correspondingly there's a geometric decrease in "willingness to use it while logging" as you progress too.

Well said, Sogeha. When you get to know the guys here better you'll find we have quite a group. We have guys in college without two dimes to rub together and we have very very VERY wealthy people rubbing shoulders with us. We have doctors, lawyers and Indian chiefs, and we have Joe Sixpack types. We hail from every corner of the globe and range from drooling morons to belligerent hotheads to erudite gentlemen. We are as diverse as any group anywhere... with a common thread: we're fascinated by these mechanical beasties that track the Sun in the sky. Odd, isn't it? When the chips are down and we're hurting, or when we've struck upon unimaginable good news, we as a man come to these pages and talk about it with our brothers. Sometimes there are shouts of excitement and sometimes a quiet nod is the best way to show we heard what was sorta, but not quite said. Mutual respect does that to guys. We have a lot more in common than we do in opposition. Let's keep the emphasis on our "Band of Brothers" and remember what really matters.
