Thank you Nanuq. Thanks to all of you. If ever you are in Las Vegas, I will buy you a beer. I work in the Venetian, right on the canal with the singing gondoliers. It is much like Venice, without the farm smells.

Nice, nice nice,, Out of this bunch, which is a stellar group of Pams, the 187 is missing. Having the 232 127, and 217, make me a happy camper. Your watches look gorgeous. The 127 rocks farther than the otrhers IMO, but the 187 is the elusive fish bound to be snagged very soon. Congrats on your taste and collection.

I have not been able to read this post for awhile, as the subject is painful. I want to express to HauteHippie, how deeply sorry I am for your Mom;s passing and your Dad's decline in health. Life is a precious gift, which we often take for granted. The kind words and cameraderie of the members here is overwhelming. Really. This forum has many very fine people. Now....Good News..The doctors told me my Dad had a 1% chance of ever walking out of a hospital. I flew to Denver weeks ago to see him after a 7 hour operation. He looked so small and nearly dead.I returned to Las Vegas in agony to keep working, as life goes on, and Dad got better day by day. He was transferred back to the nursing home in Morrison, Colorado, where his feeding tube was removed, and now walks around with a cane. He is doing ok for an 80 year old fellow. I have been to Denver so mny times that my employer wont allow more time off, so Dad will fly here first class next week to live with me in my 4 bedroom home with 4 dogs. I am thankful to God for giving my Father the strength to recover from what would have killed most people. My Grand Aunt Lea lived to be 104 years. We are a family of Finlanders, who have good genes, but some of us, myself included, drink to damn much. My Great Grandfather died in a sauna, his last words were that he wanted a beer. Ha! God Bless all of you here at RWG. I am proud to be included in a place with so many fine souls. Thank you all for your support and prayers. They worked!

My Panerai collection with 127 and 217 incabloc mods
hambone replied to marlin22's topic in The Panerai Area
Great photos. Panerai watches are the [censored] !!! -
Hopefully this is just another instance of hype over substance. The media has a penchant for offering the worst case scenario, yet, I hope, the people on the east coast will suffer minimal damage and loss.

Is "Perfect Clones" a perfect clone of "Trusty Time"?
hambone replied to tlaias's topic in General Discussion
Andrew and Joshua are age old friends who support each other and offer mostly the same goods, with the same prices. They are both good, decent chaps. -
No foolishness here at all. You have handled this with a patient , balanced perspective. No need for machine guns, pepper spray, bazookas or silly string. This will work out fine.

Pls Be Careful When Oerdering From PureTime Watches
hambone replied to rogersk8ter's topic in General Discussion
Another guy with 5 posts bitching about how long it takes for him to get his illegal, counterfeit watch because a few days have gone by. Sometimes I wish that our dealer friends in China ask for an IQ test before their clients are allowed the luxury of buying a watch that is incredibly authentic looking, well made, and lately, run the risk of being executed. That is the fact. The trusted dealers here are trusted for a reason Kindly do not malign them in any way, be patient and you will receive what you paid for. Otherwise, a punch in the chops may be in order. -
Fabulous combo! Your 380 takes the prize for best looking strap.

William Shatner..AKA Captain Kirk, has lopped off many a left nut, then casually popped them into his molars to chew with gusto, with the reward being all that creamy center of man gravy. .. Did I just say that? Oh jeez how embarrasing.

Agreed. What a Fly Face. -
I have been at RG for 6 years. They have always been good to me. The thing is as many rep site owners have stated, the sites are not a democracy, and if they feel their guidelines have been compromised, they reserve the right, much to the chagrin of others, to ban who they want when they want. Most site owners are basically reasonable, but adherence to the rules is prudent. Hey, I love breaking the rules, but I love these websites more.

Hey.. Where the white dials at?

My DSN Fiddy from years ago with the "Swiss Mvmt". It has served me well. great timepiece, and one of the best fiddy reps ever made IMO.

Great post, Who is the infamous rep collector that has what seems to be around 500 reps? Did he really buy all those watches?
-
Perhaps I need new glasses. My GMT two tone with the "super lume looks pretty good to me. I tried one on at the AD here in Vegas, "Not wearing my rep of course", and when you hold the watch, it is indeed heavier (gen) than the rep. The rep bezel is ceramic, yet the color seemed indistinguishable to me. In any event a $ 400 watch which mirrrors a $10,000 watch, is a fair deal. That is the joy of our pastime. I dare say not many of us can dispute the clearly superior quality of the factories in the last 5 years.Otherwise there would be no raids and arrests in china, and lawsuits flying around like mad. Get em while you can!!

Pliny the Elder VS. Pliny the Younger and watch taste
hambone replied to hambone's topic in General Discussion
That is the Pliny I'm talking about Nanuq. Actually, I thought this posty would be relegated to the looney bin the first day. I'm impressed Roman times offered so many topics from vomitoriums to Christian eating lions, they had it all. -
Here we have Pliny the Elder, who would have greatly appreciated the astonishing depth and availability of quality time pieces. Unfortunately, Pliny the Elder lived in ancient Roman times and was relegated to the sundial wristwatch. We have to account for the fact that a mechanical clock would not be developed for another 700 years. . Here we have Pliny the Younger. Son, of Pliny the Elder. While nearly as famous as his Dad in Ancient Roman times, The hapless younger Pliny also succombed to the same fate as Dad, a sundial wristwatch. Be assured though, that both Pliny's owned several of the finest sundial wrist watches in the Empire. They had watches made by Rolecks, Brightling, Patek Phillopious, and BVLXGARI.

A LOT OF PICS!!!! Panerai History & PAM 390 Review
hambone replied to mikellem's topic in The Panerai Area
Super review. The 390 is very desireable. I have so many pams. Lining them all up there is a marked similarity to them. Still, can't get enough dammit! -
Sorry, this Pam is not my taste. Thje font is insipid and weak, the bezel is also insipid and weak, in fact, the entire Panerai company is insipid and weak for releasing this wholly unattractive time piece. They should all drop and do 200 pushups.

Nice. Tuxedo dial is always a winner!

Music Lovers - What are you listening to right now?
hambone replied to By-Tor's topic in General Discussion
I am listening to Tito Puente! Yeeeee haaaaaa! @Maxman, My taste in rock is similar. The Stones Sticky Fingers is one of the greatest albums ever made. -
It acutually looks good, the rubber strap, however, it is not my taste for a Rolex. I do like the rubber on my Hublot.

Looks like the diving that the owner of this watch conducts is diving for ye olde brown daisy hole.
