  1. Well, Rolex finally got around to it!! Baselworld 2014, Rolex announces the new Rolex GMT Master IIC with a Red/Blue Bezel insert. Here is a link to an article http://www.hodinkee.com/blog/new-rolex-gmt-master-ii-white-gold-pepsi-cerachrom-bezel Unfortunately for those few of us who might have entertained the idea of buying a new genuine, it will only be available in White Gold, which pushes it way outside my buying range. Why they didn't offer this one in SS is beyond me, but I long ago quit trying to figure out what Rolex was doing!
  2. Hey guys, we all know what he is, don't risk a ban or warning over that little twit.
  3. Yeh, but when you sobered up you realized what a a great girl she was!!!
  4. Mighty nice!! Too big for me, but should be just right for you. If the seconds dial were the same color, this one would be the cat's meow!!! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. +1 to what Matt said Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. All the dealers have different models at different prices. Unfortunately, if you are looking for a 50 € watch, you may be out of luck here. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. Beautiful, nice thing about a gen case, you can use a 5.3 mm crown. To me the crown and crown guards are the biggest tell when you use a rep case,as most were made for 6mm crowns. Great work!! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. The rep sites are under constant scrutiny and threat of closure. The authorities who close down websites know that they will pop right back up again, but it's all a harassment technique. Try to make the site owners life as difficult as they can. They may also be monitoring the closed sites to see who logs on. So when someone posts that a site is closed, best not to experiment and try to log on. Big brother is watching you!! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. Ezio, how many watches can you pack into that F-16. Talk about express shipping!!! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. Looks like a good price to me. I would always try to get a really low price on watches like this one, as it is a second tier watch by popularity, and it is a very edgy design as well. historically these are the watches that take a really big hit when resold, so if you are "buying to try", best to either try to find a good gently used one or a new one that is priced way down. I believe that Ashford deals in a lot of "Grey market" watches, which is no problem as they are brand new and are just as good as the ones that come from an AD, but some companies will not honor warranties on watches that are sold as grey market. In those case, almost every reputable seller will offer their own warranty that is pretty comparable to the makers warranty.
  11. Since I live in the USA, I'm not really clear about the transship deal? What I gather is the watch Is shipped to a second party somewhere in the EU, and then forwarded on to the customer. So if the watch gets intercepted in the first leg of the journey, the customer is not involved so the watch is reshipped? If this is the case, how are they getting them through to the trans shipper? It would seem that there is as much risk getting it in to a EU country initially, no matter who it is shipped to. Or are their countries that have very lax customs and watches can be gotten through easily? just curious as to the process.
  12. just when you see a path forward, somebody drops a tree tight in the middle of it!!
  13. Legend, Like you said, lots on the "bay", however, I went through my parts cabinet, and found three that would work!! Sounds like I need to clean out my watch parts cabinet and have a sale.
  14. I would say that they are watches that will grow on you, if any ever do. I (As my user name implies), have had a fair number of PAMS. It seems like the PAM hysteria has quieted down somewhat, but back in the mid 2000's around 2006-7, the Paneristi were crazy!! The genuine fortums were filled with guys that I felt like were one missed pill away from the "loony bin"!! Another thing that sort of turned me away was the fact that genuine PAMS were using ETA movements and selling the watches at what I considered very high prices. Another thing, they were promoting bigger and bigger watches, and I realized that 44mm was the upper limits for my wrist. I couldn't wear the 47mm watches, so interest began to wane Back when Eddie Lee was around, he was selling some really nice 029's and 063's with ETA 27893 movements. I bought one of each sold them, bought another 2893 powered 029, and had a few others but over time, I sort of lost interest in reps for a couple of years, and I ended up selling all of them. In the past couple of years, I have had a submersible I took in a trade, can't remember the number but it was one of the Big ones, as well as one with a blue dial. the submersible was way too big for me, and I didn't bond with the blue dial watch. I also got an 024A from Davidsen, and it was really nice, but It too didn't stick around long. Maybe I need to go back and buy just a basic nice 104, something that isn't too big and bulky. my problem is I have so many watches now, about 75% of the hardly ever see the light of day, so I really don't need any more watches right now. In defense of PAMs, they are very nice, simple, classy watches that are good for wearing just about anywhere with anything. And as was said, strap changes are very easy, and every strap gives the watch a different look.
  15. Great replies guys. I am losing patience with people who have not one scintilla of courtesy, rude and demanding. Learn like we all did. We are a more congenial group today, back years ago, there were folk on the forum who would have torn a guy like this a new one. Maybe they had the right idea!!! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. All your links are broken!!
  17. Hard to beat the 2824-2 as a workhorse. Another option is to use the ETA 2824-2 as a base and make it a slow beat using 2846 parts, like sneed12 is doing to convert theAP divers to slow beat. He has a good thread with photos in the AP section here. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. Maron has had a fair number of "questionable" watches over the years. It's sad that guys k Like that can continue to operate with impunity, as long as they deliver the watches, and don't do like Mulholland and screw people out of their money and not deliver anything. I suppose you can set up a fancy website, list lots of rare and expensive watches and sucker people in who are not really knowledgable. It makes me a little angry at the VRF for shutting down the discussion, but I suspect that since they were sued not so long back, they are afraid that this could come back and bite them as well. 19. I had some correspondence with him regarding the RWG watch, I signed up for one, and then never heard back. I sent him a PM asking about the watch, and he told me that one of the dealers was handling it, can't remember which one. At any rate the dealer was supposed to contact everyone on the list when the watches were ready, never heard a thing back, and basically forgot about the whole deal. I suppose it never happened? Sort if reminded me about the old TRC watch that turned into a debacle!! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. Glad to see you back. You had some really fine watches. Miss having you around. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. Thanks very much guys, I can assure you, I have learned a lot in those years. As nanug said, a whole lot of us were on the old RWG and TRC, and when those sites died, many if us came over here, were made welcome, and the rest is history!!! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
