  1. Hi Ken, you def. need serious CC action! Don't let us down! Best regards
  2. And remember that each time you polish, you are removing metal. In otherwords, don't polish gold/silver plate.
  3. You know that the 1675 was Che's favorite watch. Cheers
  4. It was interesting to see the Letterman snippet. Thank you for posting the link.
  5. Which one do you use to tell time? What a wonderful collection of fine watches. You know, for sure, that you get my thumbsup! I am glad that I'm not alone with my obsessive compulsive disorder! Best regards
  6. Saw the video this morning. What an idiot. There is NO exuse for that kinda [censored]. In my neck of the woods, he'd be 6' under right now. Stoned? Drunk? Some folks talk smack when they're drunk. In fact, lots of people can't handle their booze. But I do not think this is the case. Stoned? Everytime I've sucked down bong hits, never have I unravelled in such a primitive idiotic manner. In essence, there is no excuse. If Klink was here, he'd put this all into the right perspective. Cheers
  7. I've used my trusty Bergeon 3 prong unit for years. 44mm is as big as it gets though. It won't open up my 45mm PAMs
  8. Nice choice Ubi... For me it is my Valjoux 72 powered franken 6265
  9. Nice slew of Seiko's. I've been known to flirt with 'em, too. For some reason, I just don't wear mine anymore (unless I am swimming/diving/surfing)... VERY well built beasts 4 sure.
  10. I really appreciate the information, gentlemen. I will see what I can come up with. It's kind of a drag with the 1675 tube being stripped; as it is my travel watch
  11. Thanks for the info... I have had the pleasure of trading/purchasing many watches and parts over the years with Mark. He is a great guy. I have avoided having Rolex Service Centers work on my vintage items as of late for a few reasons: they refused working in a 1565-based pointed guard 1675 due to non-support of 1560/5 movements. They also refused (the last time) to work on my '67 5513 without doing the Twinlock to Triplock upgrade (which I can understand), but they insisted on swasppingout my superdome Tropic 19 with a newer replacement. That's a HUGE no-no for me. They also refused working on my 1675 without replacing the original small GMT hand for the big GMT hand. No way, José! My Twinlock crown for my 5513 has no dots. I have a NOS one waiting to be used as well. I just need the tube. I would prefer not to retap and retrofit to Triplock at this point (although in the future it might be a better idea). I also need a tube for my 1675. I, too, have a stripped tube Cheers!
  12. Bob has already agreed last year that he'd be sendin' me his 6536! I'm still waiting!
  13. Nice pics! You know u got my big thumbsup! Cheers
  14. PART 1: I need a replacement Crown Tube for my 5513. I have a NOS OEM Twinlock 7mm crown, but I need to know the part number for the Twinlock crown tube. Please note that I need the part # for the original 1st generation 1960s TWINlock crown tube (not the upgraded Triplock stuff). I would like to keep my '67 as original as possible. My crown tube is no longer waterproof. PARTS 2: I also need to replace my crown tube for 1675. Anybody know the part #? I also would like a NOS OEM crown! If any of you have a new OEM 1675 crown tube & OEM 1675 crown, please PM!
  15. Sorry, the damn pic is so large. I'd like to perhaps attempt creating a pointed guard case for my OEM 1675.
  16. RBJ, I am most intrigued with how wonderful the pointed guard case turned out. I wonder if it would be possible to make a ponted guard rep case that would fit an OEM 1575 movement. Here's an old one of mine.
  17. Off the top of my head, we need the dimensions of the caseback as well. Wow, wouldn't it be great if your acquaintance agreed to allow his beast to be disassembled and CNC'd? I know, it's ok to dream a little, right! I will post more thoughts when I refamiliarize myself with the 1655 project. I have data somewhere on one of these hardrives.
  18. Ahhh, I LOVE this 1675 stuff, and I know you guys knew that I would! Out of curiosity, since the OEM crystal mag is too much, have you tried out a generic 116? The reason why I mention this is that the generic 116 has mag between 1.5x - 2x which seemingly would be the answer to your mag problem. The best part is that the generic crystal is identical to the OEM 116 aside from the date mag. Cheers
  19. It is strange. I do know that the harcore 1655 collectors have inflated the market via snatching up as many 1655 examples as they can - and slowly releasing pristine examples into the wild. In essence, these collectors have created their own relative worth in the vintage circuit. I think, thanks in part to these guys, we have witnessed zero case replication attempts. 1655 is rare (we know that already), and wholly unique as far as case size goes. I HIGHLY doubt that any of these 1655 collectors will ever put up an OEM case for 1:1 replication. It will never happen as they need to guard their investment(s). Somewhere, there must be exact size information regarding the case size. This is what we should hope will surface. Oh and I guess we need a slowbeat GMT movement, too (I ain't gonna scavenge a 1575 movement).
  20. 'Tis great to hear from you guys! Cheers, Euno
  21. Yeah sure, I've been gone 4 a long while. I had assumed that there might've been serious progress in respects to various reps. I guess not! What ever happend to the 1655 projects?
