You're right, the prices for vintage Heuer is absolutely crazy now. And it keeps getting crazier every year. I better buy some soon before they become unreachable for me
CHEERS Halley!
Thanks for the IWC magazine pic. I am sure that I would have to pick up a MK XVI if I saw it in person. Somehow though, it does not seem to fit in the line of the legendary Mark watches. The rectangular TYPE 48 Mark hands are the finishing touch to all the Mark series. The arrow/sword hands are cool, but they are very Sinn style, not IWC style. I do welcome the larger size of the MK XVI though.
CHEERS
Those are the 2 Tudor variations I would like to add to my permanent collection one day. Actually, I'd also like to add a French Navy Issue blue dial/insert Tudor as well.
Wowweee!
Great review. Thanks yet again for your insight and great pics.
David's hands are finely executed. I, too, am most pleased with them. I believe the hands upgrade to be an essential mod for PAM owners.
Cheers all!
Bob, I am with you when it comes to liking vintage pieces more. There is indeed a sense of wholeness (integrity) to vintage. In this day & age, nothing seems real anymore
Looks pretty damn good. I use sheets of paper to make a dome and 2 bendable lamps plus a mini tripod. I always use a sheet of paper that I hold with my hand to eliminate reflections.
And then of course, I adjust the levels via Photoshop.
I slapped on this humming electronic tuning fork machine this morning. I always forget how pinpoint accurate the 214 is. Today it is running at exact time. Ultra chronometre!
I have since changed the seconds hand back to its original flourescent orange seconds hand. The yellow one in the pic is no longer on the watch.
One fine day, I'll have to scoop up a vintage Monaco. Also on the list is a vintage Autavia, and the ever elusive vintage Camaro.
Wow. Great pics you guys. Now I am drooling like a St. Bernard.
I guess simplicity is a real tough thing to replicate in this compicated day & age.
I, too, think that the MK XVI looks like a Sinn. It does not retain the true MK feel. Shame on IWC. Still might have to pick one up
