  1. The big crown is on now. E
  2. The serifs for the numbers on the DW are very important. That is what makes or breaks the build if you're going for authenticity. The dial shown here looks like one on eBay sold by manhand. Be careful with pricing and the date window looks "off" You can always get the Yuki dial/hands for not too much and will fit just like stock. E
  3. Does anyone have a bezel that they may want to sell for a really, really good price? E
  4. HAHAHA I was told to just send it back. Part of me(the hoarder side of me that is) wants to keep it just to see if it will fit a 7750 or poljot movement correctly. Speaking of a lot of projects, here's my new member of the family Aged the case and insert a little bit and will wear it out as my "mule" watch. ETA 2783 movement, aged Yuki hands to match the dial lume. Raffles 3-6-9 dial with script removed(originally wanted to build a 6200) will change a few things and thin the case out just to see. Yes, the protective film is still on the crystal E
  5. I can't say until I get the go ahead. It is a trusted dealer though. E
  6. Very nice indeed. E
  7. I hear you! I hear you on that one. However, I have come to find that when an opportunity comes in, you must grab it quick! This case was no cost as a sample. The bezel is wrong and I feel that if the bezel were better, or correct, it would not be a bad thing. A poljot or 7750(with rotor) movement would fit in there with no issues. I'm sending it back for corrections, but has potential. Cannot disclose the source of the case at this point. One the other hand, how about a group buy of DW's stock?(no, this case is not from DW) E
  8. Can someone tell me which one is NOT the one I wanted? I received this case as a Daytona case for a Lemania movement, and it is obviously not for it, more like for a 7750 movement or perhaps a Poljot movement( I have ideas already) but the freaking bezel is all wrong. I was so excited to start a second Daytona project, with a white Newman Dial(the Dial is spot on!) but now I have to wait.
  9. Progress pictures always help/ I think 1.7mm is a tad big. 3/64" bit would work more than ok. You can always heat up the insert in hot water prior to dunking in in the bleach as well. Which case did you go with again? E
  10. Plus one to all above. Leave it alone. Looks good. I wish my gen dial was a rail one . E
  11. It's all about staying positive and DO NOT STOP MOVING! Don't let it get you down is what I mean. The moment we stop moving, we lose. You have got great support here and I am sure at home is even better. E
  12. I will find out E
  13. Have you guys tried the OFrei sapphire crystals? They offer these in different thicknesses. I'm still debating whether or not to use the semi-gloss dial or a Matte yuki dial with matching yellow hands for my build. E
  14. How about a group buy for all of the parts we need? E
  15. Geezus! I need to get my 7031 finished! Well, I needed to get it started first. This sucks! # E
  16. Wtf?
  17. I received a 6541 case(Silix type) and not too happy with it. It is the same as their 6538 case set which uses the wrong crystal setup. I may just take one of the Trevor 5513 cases(which are thin) and go at it by removing the crown guards and slimming the profile and width and see who can make me a coined edge bezel. E
  18. Here's the link. You can send email requests too. Good honest guy to deal with. Not sure if he's TD though, but although the parts are not super high quality, but they do the dirty jobs very well.
  19. Very niiiece(said with Borat's accent) E
  20. Is a loupe in the loop, the same as a loop within the loupe? Man, too much for Wednesday afternoon. I will definitely keep you posted. Something made with parts sourced from different vendors and lottsssssss of patience. I am waiting for the case, so we shall see. E
  21. I finally have the movement ready. Just waiting for a case and then off to Justin for case back work. Yuki/hybrid hands Raffles-time 26mm Dial. Aged the black background a bit and still debating on the lume for the indices Gen ETA 2784 The minute hand looks a bit long, but it could also be the dial.I can try Yuki's hand and see if it makes that much a difference. Still waiting on a signed rotor to complete this part. What do you guys think? E
  22. HAHA Waiting for THAT part lol The hands came in. I ordered a set of the vintage and white benz ones and the snowflake ones(I swear I have tooo many projects going on) I'm still waiting on ETA 5513 dial, Tudor signed rotor(for the flake project) and the aforementioned valve. E
  23. Thanks Freddy. I got one of those on order with a 5513 Dial to complete the PreComex and finish a 1665(I like the idea of a working HEV in a watch) The reason I asked is that I got a working in sealed pack HEV and I plan on using it on the 16660 project, but need to confirm that it will fit. For the price, it was HARD not to get it. E
  24. Quick question, does anyone have the proper part numbers for both the small(5513, 5514 1665) valve and the DSSD and 16600 ones? E
  25. Clarks has two versions of the Dome. Their T-39 superdome is more like it. I prefer their regular dome crystal though. E
