  1. Yep, this is being sold for some $4.5 only in China, limited to 1.5k pieces. I can hardly imagine the locals speding +4k for something with a Chinese character on it, when all those (huge majority of) people who are not familiar with the matter would have hard time concluding this watch had came from Swiss Just imagine wearing this one day at home and getting the usual old qustion from the wife "did you buy another fake watch", and you telling her, "no dear, this is not a Chinese fake, it is a $4.5k genuine Swiss-made Panerai
  2. I suppose this one is for the local market Lucky Panerai
  3. This makes me wonder how did DSN make his 'sapphire' 127 crystals, can't imagine a rep maker going through this process
  4. in England -- ... don't know, too drunk to remember... Cheers
  5. Does anybody knows about any plans for 243? The old stock is gone with all dealers, the factory that used to make it stopped with no plans to do it anymore. Is it just me or is this a pretty popular model, probably one of the most popular submersibles, so it would make economic sense for, say the 288 maker, to make the 243. Any thoughts?
  6. There is another detail -- size of the crown is bigger on diver than on scuba or chrono ROOs. I'd gues they will use the chrono case (which is too tick) along with the crowns that are too small but will fix dial (date window and markers on 12)
  7. I bet they used the ROO's case or a version of it, hence the tickness. Mind you, I like the ticker ROO case, but yeah, it's not correct for the diver...
  8. Don't think you can tell from this pic, but you are right, the lume is slighly different. Hands are perfect, dial is bit off. Another thing I can note is that lume on dial is much weaker compared to hands and dies out quicker. Seems dials would need to be re-lumed.
  9. The lume turns some form of green under specific light conditions, but normally the colour appears rather white. Even after a charge it does not turn alien green -- I tried to snap pics using flash to bring out the green, but even then it does not come up, must be the digital camera settings they used for the QC pics. Here is a quick photo of the same watch after it arrived:
  10. Have one for nearly 4 years, from the first batch, I think it was on special offer around Christmas 2007 from Andrew with free shipping I wear it a lot and never had any problems with it. It is the only watch I every owned that did not need to be regulated, keeps time within +2 sec per day! Never tried to swim with it, so no idea how waterproof it is or is not I always had the impression my UPO is a better watch then the genuine PO given all the reported problems with the coaxial esc. movement...
  11. I don't think there is a difference between v1 and v2. I just recieved my 250 which looked alien green in the QC pictures, which turned out to be a game of light and charge, in nornal conditions looks as it should, no differences to the pics in Josh's site. Some CGs are better than others though, it is a game of luck, not a matter of versions or batches IMO...
  12. What sort of service we are talking about? Would depend on people's location, the US folks have some options we can't utilise from EU, in EU there is Domi who does it, but that would be best dealt with on individual basis. I noted the cartel guys along with Angus offer some movement service, but I would not rely on this very much, best way is to study the watch and work out what needs to be done first, then send it to your "local" watchsmith (The Zigmeister, Vac etc in the North America, and Domi in the EU). I am not even aware of anybody in the UK since Finepics got fed up with us...
  13. Lume is not important to me, I asked for a good CG, and this one is one of the best you can get. I am puzzled with the colour of the lume though, as it does not look as green on all the QC pics, will have to see it in daylight and take some pics then. This might need to go for a movement service and a lume job with Domi's new machine anyway Check out this picture, I can't see much greenish there, it could be the other pics were taken after a torch charge they do to get the lume shot (the lume shot for this one looks very strong), as I said, will have to look at it in a broad daylight to tell the colour.
  14. Not sure if the green lume came along with the silver pin fix, here is a QC pic I just recived from Josh -- this clearly has black pins but lume looks greenish, not sure if as green as in the above post, but you can be a judge:
  15. Why is This Watch Worth $312,000? Because it comes with a strap
  16. A few days is a pretty good PR for an Asian movement, were you expecting it to run for a few weeks after you stop wearing it?
  17. Perhaps I was too sceptical about the 250 dial, this seems pretty good. They did screw up the 251 dial nevertheless, thus seems the 250 is the only one to get with this release, too bad as I would love to get 251...
  18. I am surprised people think these new 250/251 dials are of particularly high standard compared to the older versions. Not much difference that I can see -- the lume dots on 251 are still too big and subdials on the 250 still seem off. The lug screws on 188 at least look as they should, the lug-release pins on the 250/251 are not flush and not tick enough.
  19. Seems discussion is mainly on boots, so I would suggest Tricker's country boots or Loaks boots. These would of course be the British boots, not the cowboy ones
