  1. Apparently, but with a better stock then the genuine one -- they seem to have models listed that Josh no longer holds...
  2. I ran across this site http://www.bigbigwatch.com/ -- I would pass it as just another fake watch site, but all the pictures look familar and they are all from Josh's site. Strange enugh, there are no perfect clones marks (but the pics are the same), and also strange are the prices, which are almost identical to perfect clones. What is going on there?
  3. Got this e-mail from Andrew: "We have shifted from www.trustytime88.com to www.a88time.com. All customer details and database is preserved and you can still use your accounts to make purchases with no problems at all. You can also always access to our webstore by typing www.trustytime.com. We still own this domain and it will re-direct always to the new moved site. =)"
  4. Chinese rep makers count ...40, 50, 80, 70, 80, 90, it is the latest number theory thing
  5. After all the bad news, something bit more positive -- the FT published this today in an article on luxury goods market: "Deflation was notable in some of the index
  6. It surely is not right. I found the same problem with a 28k A7750 in a 196 that came from Josh -- rotor can spin in both directions, and nicely unwinds itself when wearing it, this has nothing to do with your winder. I suspect a batch of these movements has this fault -- I solved it by removing the rotor and winding it manually, surprisingly other then this issue the movement works perfectly (I managed to adjust it to +/- 20sec per day, and the power reserve is over 48h).
  7. This is a picture of the genuine watch.
  8. Ya sure this is hand painted, you didn't use left leg or some other body part? Fugly
  9. just discovered this myself -- accept it was not fit at all, it eventually fall off the case, now re-fitting turned out to be impossible, I even managed to damage the dial and then gave up; that's it no more business with Davidsen, other dealers at least send out watches that are to some degree assembled I also think improper crystal presses (or whatever they use to press the bezel with crystal into the case) might de-form the bezel ring and cause explosion... So who knows somebody in UK who can do this sort of work now when Finepics is not around much these days?
  10. I wonder if somebody with experience in fitting/taking off 127 or 217 bazel can help me with advice; the ring was not fitted properly to the case and on one side there is 1/2 mm space left. I am not sure if trying to press it with brute force would be a good idea, would a proper press be needed and how careful would one need to be to press the bazel on firmly? BazelFit.bmp
  11. Now you know why flats in North London are so pricy -- it is the extra community service that counts
  12. First you say it has some flaws compared to the gen, just curious, how on Earth can you spot minor flaws on a really good rep like this when you don't even know how to change straps? BTW, the rep case is not too tick, it should actually be about 1mm ticker, namely the bottom is too flat. And whether you can hear it ticking or not depends on how good ears you have.
  13. Nothing easier -- just pop up at your local AD and ask for it, they definitively have it. Mind you, they will insist on selling you the watch along with the box, which is actually very nice of them, o yeah, the price might be bit high.
  14. I think candidates for jobs are selected not elected, unless it's Tony Blair's job
  15. 5 min -- a day, a month, a year? If a day this is not adjustable, likely the movement is old/dirty or have another problem -- needs service.
  16. I think there is global warming coming out too
  17. Seems to you out to get yourself a new deployant -- these are usually good quality, I have 4 and none broke...so far...
  18. Here is nice pic of the ETA 2824, this is precisely what is in my uPO, and as you can see the rotor is not smooth, if that is the watchmaker was referring to (perhaps he needs more experience, 40 years might be too little...) http://www.chronometrie.com/eta2824/eta2824.html
  19. Now rotor is not relevant here, but knowing whether there are ETA markings would be relevant. There are two version of the uPO, notably different in price, and the cheaper ones with with Chinese movements have copy movement without any markings - many people bought the Asian (lite) uPO, perhaps they can confirm. I have a swiss uPO with ETA movment and that definitively looks like real ETA.
  20. I think we haven't resolved the main issue, was the PO ultimate or light? How did the watchmaker figure it is China copy, if there are no ETA markings that would not take great skill to figure out, and if there were, it would look exactly like ETA and even if fake (as some theories indicate), it would be impossible to tell. A picture of the movement would help.
