  1. Have no clue where to find a better case, the one you have seems engraved not stampped/punched-in, can I see it wrong?
  2. No, it does not. The difference is huge. I wonder if we will see the results here or on ebay...

    Finepics

O no, another "where is Finepics" thread....
  4. You Americans are lucky, every time I go to US people notice my watch, not so in UK...here only time my coworkers would give crap about my watch would be when they need to ask me the time (in case their mobile run out of betteries)...few times I would get a comment "cool watch", usually when wearing a Seiko...
  5. How about R***x or ****x, perhaps ***** would be quite discrete
  6. Why? I think it is fair one has to be reasonably clever or reasonably rich (or both) to get a nice watch. Stupid people and their money is likely to part easily.
  7. Surely not Russian; as far as I know they speak Portuguese in Brazil and it sounds very much like Spanish, this doesn't...
  8. Well, I kind of keep them all, I get attached to all my watches ...but if I had to give up all but one, I would keep the ultimate PO
  9. Of course, gardening is essential in servicing the rep movements. Don't tell me you didn't know that.
  10. It would help to The Zigmeister's reputation that he himself does not get defensive in such posts (no need at all), and if he did not mention over and over again how busy and fully booked he is and that his bookings are handled by his "assistant", now how much of a hoby this sounds like, and where would such impression come from? I would like to see as much as discussions on servicing movments from as many members as possible. The Zigmeister was right about Joe before, but this one seems to know few things, why shut him up?
  11. I am lost here, are we discussing whether $95 is a good deal for a very poor looking PO with mineral glass, wrong bracelet and cheap Asian movement? Well, no it is not.
  12. Thanks for the warning Andrew; this site must be the work of a total moron
  13. Lookin' good -- love to see gator on all PAMs why not PVD, nice.
  14. Any chance of sourcing the crown guards? Those on the pics look great
  15. "to buy from" sounds correct to me, but "to buy to" would be wrong, as the stuff is bougth abroad, hence from UK. BTW I totally agree, it is very safe, for as long as Parcel Force doesn't lose it...
  16. O boy, I first visited Canal st. this year, after years of having a far better "source", hence I was not tempted, but if saw this place 5 years ago I would go bananas, there are some interesting pieces, and if you don't know better they look OK; however, I failed to spot anything of similar quality and also I saw none of the familiar models (or versions of models), one thing comes to my mind, I never so so many fantasy Breitlings any other place...
  17. The "new" 7750 Asia model is now available only from Andrew (as far as I can tell); this is the best looking rep of 212, but still with problems. The subdials actually look better (to me) on the rep, as the gen ones are bit too small; hour numerals are too tick, which also looks better then the ones on the gen, but from the accurracy point of view, yeah it is noticeable... Main problem cannot be seen from the front -- plastic movement holder? I can't tell from the pics, Clive, do you have the 28k beat Asian, does it have a plastic holder still? If so I would single that out as an issue; the back-cover font should be black (painted) but that is an easy fix, the main issue is it is wrong size of the font and a part is missing ("Automatic") - as the font is too large hence the entire script does not fit. The font on the rotor is also wrong, too large, else the movement looks good. Unfortunately the 212 is not available with the blue screws with ETA movement, but 28k Asia should be fine. AR can be better though, and of course the buckle is wrong, it should be deployant (easy to fit with minor modification I guess, but I would not care as I hate the carbon-fiber looking strap anyway). Pushers should be polished, and are bit too long. The Lemania version has correct pushers, though and it also has the minute markers pointing outside correctly, but that is about it for the Lemania version as the rest is pretty bad...
  18. Where the f...k is Blade? ...sorry, couldn't resist
  19. Nice, don't think you need to make it darker, the contrast would be too sharp, it seems better this way, nice work
  20. The current model 8-days GMT looks pretty close to Fiddy to me and is 44mm. This is the one with Panerai-made movement
  21. ...could have been worst, he could had it over the jacket sleave
  22. Damn, so no more palp crowns
  23. He said he tried the steam screw. I suspect the screw is spent out and not long enough to reach the steam, the screw needs to be replaced most likely.
