  1. Bravo! Bravo!!! Excellent write up!
  2. NICE! That Porsche Diver is an awesome watch! I want one!
  3. I'll send you some pics, I hope you catch on to reluming and like doing it. I could keep you very busy! I had a good friend here in town that ordered a bunch of lume compounds and binders from different places. He was going to try reluming his own watches and after several tries and several mixtures he finally got the consistency where it needed to be and lumed 2 watches that turned out OK. Although not good enough for me to hand my watches over to him! It takes a VERY steady hand to lume and I know I could NEVER do it! I have great respect for the modders here that can relume every kind of dial be it applied indices or the older Rolex dials. It would drive me crazy trying to do it!
  4. I don't think BK does reluming, he has PB for that. If your in EU a local modder would be my choice. Is The Zigmeister in EU? If so he does excellent work from what I've seen here.
  5. I just got my SSD back from PBdad last week and it looks great, the lume was applied perfectly in the indices with no overfill or smudges. It looks great but not as bright as I had hoped it would be. The new superlumed SD is brighter and longer lasting. I think PB applied the lume OVER the existing factory lume, so there's not a lot there to give it that awesome C3 glow. It was my fault for not clarifying to remove the old lume first..... Lesson learned, from now on any watch I get relumed will be done with the old lume being removed first.
  6. TC's watch business is shaping up, he's a genuine TD now.
  7. He will probably have to stick with Titanium, it's hypoallergenic. I've read of these allergic reactions before and I've never read of a solution. He'll have to stay with Ti.
  8. I would pay good money for something like this, it would be awesome to have one built "gen spec"
  9. All the dealers have the superlumed version, they sell for $130 w/cheap Asian M'ment, $248 for Asian ETA clone, $338 for "Swiss"
  10. Well I think it looks great! Awesome work brother!
  11. This why I never do preorders anymore. I got in on 2 different preorders over on WUS with a couple of different boutique makers. These guys have no real idea of when they will get their watches from the factory because they have to make so many changes with each prototype thay receive. Typical of the horror stories we've heard from BK here about trying to get his custom parts made. He even sent them EXACT blueprints and instead the factory went by what the original specs were. No changes were made and they had to start all over again..... I wait until it's released, if I miss it the first batch, oh well I'll get it the next time. But I have no money tied up and I'm not constantly wondering when it will arrive. It's just one less thing for me to worry about.
  12. When this happens (wrong zip code) the supervisors are supposed to look up the correct zip and correct it. Then it would be rerouted to you instead of returning to the original sender. That is IF they catch it? I have to do this almost daily at my office, between people putting in the wrong zip codes and some handwriting that is so bad you can't even decifer ONE WORD of the address to fix it!
  13. Your very welcome, before I started working for the USPS (7 years ago) I was always wondered how the process worked. Now that I see how the ENTIRE process works and the machinery and system they use to move the mail it is really remarkable how they get the quanities of mail/parcels sorted and moved across the country as fast as they do!
  14. I bet that will never happen E, like Bert said the factories couldn't or wouldn't get the WM9 SD case right because it was so "complicated" so they took the easy way (read cheaper way) and just made it like a sub.
  15. Not sure I understand? You mean from the crown side view? Or looking at the lugs where the bracelet attaches?
  16. I'm having one modded right now by Jackjo, he's swapping the factory pearl with a watch material pearl. The factory pearl is not bad looking at a distance but it too bulbous looking and sticks up a little too far compared to gen.
  17. You are correct, Domestic Registered mail is THE safest way to ship ANYTHING in the US. It is under lock and key the ENTIRE way with every person who touches it having to sign and date the papers for it! Even the Semi truck drivers have to "sign" for it to transport it from PO to PO. But for INT. it ends at the border. Incoming Registered is like domestic 1st class.
  18. Started with Rollies and now 30-something later.....Still ONLY Rolex! I haven't bought a single different brand. I'm up to 7 Sea Dwellers now (all 16600) and trying to decide which two will be the best to keep so I can sell the rest. It might take a while?
  19. Took a few more pics in the sunlight today, still crappy but....The first picture includes the V1 crappy rehaut version just for reference.
  20. INT. Registered mail is scanned by USPS only when handed over from customs then maybe once more when it hits your hometown for delivery. We as carriers and sorters don't have to scan them at all. Only EMS gets that attention. One exception is when the mail volume is really slow then managers might make them scan a few of the INT. registers just to keep someone busy.
  21. I work for USPS and Japanic is correct ISC (International Sorting Center) and they are very very busy with thousands of parcels arriving daily. Your package is Registered, bottom of the barrel when it comes to international packages. We have different levels of priority for INT packages with EMS being the first processed and registered being the last. Registered are not guaranteed to be delivered by a specific time/date so it's basically when we get to it. The container of REG parcels will be dated when they arrive, as long as we have it process by the "no later than" date we're good. EMS is treated like Domestic USPS Express mail, so we have to get to it as soon as customs release it. Customs can screw up everything when it comes to fast delivery, sometimes they have packages for a day and other times they hold them for a week. For your future packages always pay the extra for EMS, then you;ll get your watch much faster.
  22. Watcher your builds are awesome my friend! Does the SD superlumed hand your using match up good with gen dial in brightness and duration of the lume?
  23. A member here "watcher" did replace the crystal of the new SD with the mineral glass option from Ofrei but he couldn't use the crystal gasket and had to glue the crystal in the case.
