  1. No worries, I am also looking out for the re-release of the blue dial YM. It was released and recalled within a week. The problem is, why do they not spend some time to make the improvements before the release? It would be more efficient this way would it not?
  2. As usual, top notch stuff from you bro. That cow fur strap looks ridiculously adorable
  3. wait for it to be re-released again. It has been recalled by the maker for some refinement and should be released very soon again.
  4. Ah then you were in very good hands. Markiemark is a good PAM guy, and you can trust him anytime!
  5. Look at this picture, for really old, flat and non rounded pushers. These are pre-2012 reps, and the movement is like a temperamental suicide bomber approaching a market full of people on a sunday afternoon.
  6. Haha guys.. you think too highly of me. To the OP: The pushers ARE rounded and are like the gen. Trust me on this. any rounder, and they would look very off. This is the V5, and a very nice watch. Good choice, and wear her well.
  7. Thank you for the very in depth pictorial review, I always learn something new from reading posts such as this, even if the watches do not appeal to me personally.
  8. Thats nitpicking. Its a very nice watch, and frankly, 99% of the population would not be able to distinguish this from a genuine Panerai, especially on the wrist. Its a good choice for a first rep, wear her well. I foresee that the rep poison would course through your veins and cause you to fall deeper into this wonderful chasm of indulgence.
  9. Welcome Dave, and it sure took you a while to say hello! Collecting rep watches is a little little like potato chips, you can't just stop at one!
  10. Actually, yes, a DWO or datewheel overlay is commonly used to resolve this issue. But someone has to print and produce it.
  11. I saw this too, and like you, I have been waiting for a quality ROC to come along. For this quartz model ,the 9 o'clock subdial is wrong, it is exactly the same as the 6 o'clock one. If you can be patient, you will be able to look forward to a nice auto movement ROC release in a few months, if what I hear is correct. The sec@6 movement worries me a little though...
  12. It's a toss up between two very lovely watches mate, but since you already got the black dial hublot and the pretentious pocket square, why not go for the panda? Sent from Mars using tapatalk
  13. My friend, how have you been? Get the 44mm Panda from Noob.. you won't regret it.
  14. Yes you are right.. the AP logo is too big on both reps and crooked in the pics. The Safari dial color is too "white" I feel.. something like the Montauk Highway. I'm skipping these!
  15. Man, then reps are very suitable for you. Flip 'em if you hate 'em haha.. Is there any rule here against "Praten over koetjes en kalfjes"?
  16. hahaha... the hardcore minimalist! I think you are the super picky sort when it comes to watches. Incidentally, I am rebuilding my watch collection and I am looking for a TC sub. You wanna sell yours?
  17. Yes I would not recommend you spend money to buy either of the new releases.. buying an AP ROO rep is like buying unpeeled potatoes from the supermarket. You need to do a lot of work to make it delectable. Which means that you end up spending quite a bit more than $1k for a reliable, visually accurate and gorgeous looking watch... Let me guess, on a good day we would catch you with 4 Hublot big bangs on your wrists, 2 on each wrist? :D
  18. http://www.intime.co/product.php?id_product=1496 http://www.intime.co/product.php?id_product=1495 Both rep models are flawed, but the safari model dial is totally off. For the Black themes, the red color is off, but I guess it would be a relatively easy fix. Anyone planning to take the plunge?
  19. On a side note, I just noticed that your username is almost an anagram of mine. OK random musing over.. yes I would agree with you, anyone wearing an RM should have the lifestyle or capability to back it up.. else it can be quite jarring to the eyes, for example, to see an RM (gen or rep) sitting on the wrist of a kindergarten school teacher with a modest lifestyle. Actually the same applies to all branded watches, but Rolexes and Panerais are a lot more affordable, especially if you buy them used. Recently, I saw a supermarket check out lady (about 40 yrs old) wearing what my eyes told me was a gen Hublot Big Bang, 41mm. I guess she either got a huge bonus, her husband's watch, or a strange personal preference for a career. It was a strange sight to behold.
  20. I think RM watches are cool visually, but the blatantly inaccurate date fonts in the rep puts me off. Until this is resolved, I would not be considering purchasing any.
  21. We learn together my friend. My watchsmith recently opened up a 44mm ROO (meaning movement in a very recent batch) and commented that the movement has improved due to the friction reduction measures taken. I have not had an A7750 sec@12 die or even stutter on me in recent memory, even when unserviced. The 3 jewels mod is done by Domi and I have a watch that is using that movement.. In terms of accuracy of keeping time and power reserve, it is very good. +2sec/day and at least 46hrs. I do not know if the power reserve is affected by the jewels mod or not, but the movement is one of the sweetest ever. Anytime you have a question which you think I could help, you know where to find me mate. I am occasionally useful when sober.
  22. Hey Big A, am no expert but here you go, some answers: 1. does the newer 7750 sec@12 come from the factory with a jewel(s) modification? Also, when approximately did the factory begin using the modified movement in ROO's? Apparently, there are some improvements made to the ROO sec@12 movement recently. Not extra jewels, but the friction issue encountered in using 3 transfer gears is alleviated by the use of washers. This started in late 2012. The rule of thumb is: If your ROO came with rounded pushers from the factory, it probably would have a "newer" movement. 2. Is the factory mod good enough, or is it just a "band aid" on the problem? And finally is their anyone in the USA doing the jewel mods on the 7750 ROO movement. So far, the newer movements have held up in my watches. Or perhaps, they are still too new to be failing. I know Domi in Germany (not France) and Goin in Taiwan are doing the extra jewel mods. 3. The "extra jewels" mod has proven to be reliable so far, and I personally have yet to see one fail. Essentially, the A7750@12 movement is a modified one and does not seem efficient to me with the 3 extra transfer gears involved. Until a clone of the LWO283 movement has been developed, I guess the extra jewel mod would be a semi-permanent solution to the movement issues.
