To be fair to AJ, he has resolved this issue with the buyer, and I doubt he would name the guy. My issue with this same buyer surfaced after he has reached a settlement with AJ, and I am bumping the thread to let members here be aware that what I experienced is not an isolated incident. -

This is AJ's thread, and out of respect for him, I would let him name the guy, even though I was involved in the same saga. I think AJ would agree with me if I call him a pathological liar, going by his texts and actions. @astonjenks -
So I bought the base watch, with a defective movement from a local member last month, and decided to see how far I could take it. The following mods were done: - Serviced and ETA main spring fitted, power reserve now 50hrs. - Double AR crystal fitted - Subdial hands base painted black to match gen - Hour hand base trimmed - ETA datewheel installed - Mk2 cyclop for better magnification and depth The watch now runs like a dream, and has a power reserve of approximately 50hrs. She keeps time to within 2sec a day currently. The double AR really brings out the texture of the dial very well, and would be a highly recommended mod for this model at least. I know many prefer the JF model for this watch, but I personally prefer the Noob model, for the following reasons: - better dial marker colors, white for the Noob vs greenish for the JF - More accurate dial markers at 3 and 9. The JF 3 o'clock marker looks stubby, and the Noob one, more symmetrical with its 9 0'clock counterpart. - A nicer ceramic bezel in my opinion for the Noob. The color of the bezel would range from gun metal grey to jet black depending on the lighting. - An accurate subdial at the 12 o'clock position, with longer 2,4,6,8 and 10 markers. - An accurate spacing in the chrono second counter ring (shorter 1st-4th markers and a longer 5th marker) - A better date font (not that it matters in this case since I replaced it) The JF model does have accurate subdial hands base color (black), which can be easily repainted on the Noob, and a better crystal (which I would have swapped out for a double AR crystal anyway). Also, I do not care for the decorated 3120 movement plates anyway. Anyone who has seen the genuine caliber, would not be fooled by the replica. Still, it is an improvement over the A7750 movement seen from the caseback for sure. The new plates used in the newer JF ROOs have just improved the appearance of the movement, making it less ugly. But it does not turn humpty dumpty into Cinderella, no sir. I do like a select few models from the JF, but for this specific model, I still like the Noob base watch. The dial is an important aspect for me, and Noob has got the better dial by far in my opinion. Both factories got their flaws, and again, it would be a matter of which you could live with more. I like the beauty of the Noob dial, enhanced under the double AR crystal and that does the trick for me. To each his own, but my choice is clear

I know this member in question. Recently, this same guy wasted 2 weeks of my time, insisting that he made a bank transfer for a watch that he was interested in. The funds transfer never arrived and he kept making a host of excuses. The watch in question was finally sold to AJ, who is a stand up guy and have no mythical "But the unicorn ate my grandmother" type of excuses when sending payment. The buyer is based in Australia, and I would ask the rest of you guys to be careful when dealing with people like that. His modus operandi: - Sends you a screenshot that he added you as a payee for bank transfer and then claiming that the transfer was done. No screenshot of the transfer (which he could easily have done if funds were sent) and then an assortment of excuses that becomes very painful to listen to. - Would send paypal immediately if he really wants to buy something. Just a heads up guys. This guy can be a major waste of time. -
Thanks a lot Rolli!!

Now now P, the sheared lamb joke has gone on long enough, carried over from RWI and now its getting old...... But for the sake of correcting you, I would reckon you need at least 3 sheared lambs, one to feed the croc, one to hold on to as a float and one to trade with me for my "ultra secret mod"..

The layout of the website is very Chinese. And we can be sure that Longines is not produced by the chinese factories..yet. The prices are ridiculous, even with the assumption that they are quality reps. The pictures are all of genuine watches I suspect, with the watches showing the classic 10:10 time. In short, stay away, and like my Alaskan friend @Nanuq likes to say, "Run for the hills!" (That adage always gives me an explained amusement each time I see it) In conclusion, this is 100.1% a scam.

About 48-50hrs power reserve. - trimmed beveled and polished hour hand base - trimmed tachy ring for that space between date window and tachy - ETA datewheel fitted - modded cyclops for better magnification and depth. Thank you very much guys for your very knowledgable insights and help. I will go do some homework from here. Rolli, when you say a new tube is needed, I assume that the space between crown guard and crown is smaller for the set up? Thank you. Guys, I recently bought a DSN PAM57C and as many of you may know, the titanium crown guard is not exactly the best, in terms of shape and accuracy. I would like to ask where I could buy a more accurate crown guard to replace this one, and whether any of you kind gentlemen are inclined to sell me one please. I would be grateful for any help rendered. Thank you all in advance.
