  1. Yes I feel you brother. I am actually monitoring my own ROO reps fitted with the swiss mainsprings, and thankfully, none of them have failed on me yet. ROO reps are expensive to own and maintain, and I can understand the frustration of having an ultra-modded ROO fail due to the A7750 sec@12 movement. I am researching other ways to mitigate the complication of the movement, and you can be sure that I would be happy to share if my endeavor shows promise!
  2. Succintly well put A. You wear the watch, and not vice versa. Noob ROO reps are generally well made, but require some additional mods to bring it to a believable level in my opinion. Your Safari and RC are prime examples of "very believable" ROOs, without going the franken route.. I went to look at the pictures you posted again and I really like the gen like hands and bigger date font, the latter filling up the date window much better. I have been recently thinking to myself, if this set of mods makes a lot more economical sense than going the franken route in terms of visual satisfaction. Of course, we KNOW implicitly that no matter what we do, it would always be a rep. But ultimately, this hobby is about self-gratification and satisfaction, and getting personal joy out of our collection. As long as we know where our own moral and social boundaries are, I see no harm in wanting to take a stock factory rep and making it as genuine looking as possible for our own enjoyment!

  5. The grey themes is one of the best looking 42mm ROOs I've seen! Lets not kid ourselves, a good ROO franken is damn near gen, barring the very minor, negligible differences. On the wrist, in real life, a well-built franken is as gen as it looks. I would be very surprised if you get called out on even a good modded ROO rep. Like what my friend Arthur mentioned, most people would not know what an AP watch is. It all boils down to how the wearer carries himself, and I always believe in the wearer being the primary factor in determining if the watch he wears is genuine. On the forums, the pictures are still and magnified many times. We spend a prodigious amount of time debating flaws, surmising accuracies of any given mod, and basically scrutinizing the inaccuracies of new rep releases. But imagine a gen ROO on the wrist of a police constable patrolling the streets, or the janitor taking out the trash... it would look many times more out of place than a reasonable rep on the wrist of a moderately successful businessman. That is just my 2 cents.
  6. I think if you can make the tourbillon believable on your wrist, in terms of your capability to afford one, and work in an environment where it would look right at home, then a steel one could serve as a daily beater. It very much depends on the environment you work in, and to a large extent, your position in the corporate ladder or social league. Just my 2 cents. ;) Sent from Mars using tapatalk
  7. Both are gen. :) Sent from Mars using tapatalk
  8. That's absolutely gorgeous. May I know what watch is that and how much it costs please? Thank you. Sent from Mars using tapatalk

  10. It has been my pleasure and privilege working with you Big A. You're one of the most respected member of RWG and your opinion and feedback matters to me a lot. Thank you for your kind patience and understanding throughout the process sir. The watches are very beautiful and I am proud to be a small part of their fantastic journey. Wear them wear my friend.
  11. Ok I will give it to you straight mate.. that watch you purchased is a replica, and not a very good one, even to a non-Rolex guy like me. It screams "Replica!" in flashing, accusatory red letters 25 ft tall, with confetti falling all around the word. I thought that you probably knew and was trolling for responses like what the guys gave above, or maybe you were being sarcastic or sardonic, or even making fun of the rep watch hobby. That watch you purchased is worth maybe $100 max? If you bought it for $987, you have been undoubtedly fleeced like a lamb at a shearing party. The "jeweller" you spoke with was probably just a guy in cahoots with the seller. That guy asking you where you bought it, could be thinking that it looks good AND very affordable (i.e. a replica) and it is within his budget to get one too. If he had thought that it was a genuine, the obvious answer to "where did you get it?" would be "the nearest Rolex AD".. So kindly pardon the guys and myself for not giving you the responses you had hoped for. Looking at the watch and your post, it does come across as either a humorous and massive troll post or an unforgivably ignorant one. I would not wear this watch even if its the last watch available on Earth. It just looks cheap and tawdry, like a bauble left over from a low-end replica seller on canal street. You have been scammed for about $887 at least, but the good news is, you have found RWG and if you are diligent and willing to learn, you will be scammed no more. There is plenty of useful information and eruditely knowledgeable members here to help. The Rolex gurus here would be able to tell you if a Rolex is rep or gen at 4am in the morning, bleary eyed, deprived of sleep, and in near total darkness. So welcome to RWG! An expensive lesson learnt for sure, but may it be the last of its kind for you. You seem to be a nice newbie. We all have had our newbie moments, and you made quite an entrance here.
  12. I do apologize if you're truly offended. But can you kindly explain the spirit of your post? Is it a massive joke or were you trolling for some response from us? Sorry if I do not get the punchline. Nothing personal. Sent from Mars using tapatalk
  13. +1. Come on guys. Be nice. I'm donating $10 to the retard association and would match donations 1 for 1. Sent from Mars using tapatalk
  14. 45! That's a lot of money A. Lol Sent from Mars using tapatalk
  15. Noob has no extra jewel at the friction point. That's a fact. J12 sec@12 movements does not have an extra jewel either but uses a washer to alleviate the friction. It is slightly more reliable than the noob movement as a result but still requires servicing to make it reliable in the long term Sent from Mars using tapatalk
  16. Between v3 and v7, about 3 years and $80. Rather than explain the minor differences to you, I'll simply tell you to get the v7 if you're a prospective buyer. If you're doing a scholarly research, there's plenty here to read up on. Sent from Mars using tapatalk
  17. So envious of you bro. Sent from Mars using tapatalk
  18. Lol very nice mate. But money shot differs from chick to chick. I'm waiting for delivery of my new Maclaren. I have my 800bhp Nismo GTR in the mean time to play it. I name it the supercar spanker. Sent from Mars using tapatalk
  19. Majority of the panerai replicas listed with an ETA7753 would come with the Asian 7753 instead. Your best bet would be to purchase the 253 from a trusted dealer here, get the ETA movement yourself, and have it installed in the watch. Or, you could wait for one to pop up in m2m... I would not trust any of the sites advertising watches with ETA7753 movements....
