  1. Not too crazy about the other colors but this looks quite nice. Not as nice as the original though. Omega makes too many variations and "special editions". They only cheapen the brand. Just imho.
  2. When Journey was still an awesome rock band. Times before Raised on Radio and transformation to a skilled boy band. Holy shit this is a good song and a splendid vocal perfomance by Steve Perry.
  3. When Hagar replaced DLR I thought they had sold their souls to cheesy shit. But it's funny... I can't listen to those old DLR albums anymore and prefer the Hagar era now. Brian Howe's Bad Company (in the 1990's) represented this era even better though. Maybe I'm getting old.
  4. Any Boston fans? Speaking of great guitarists I think Tom Scholtz has very unique sound. I know the first album was THE commercial success but to my ear "Third Stage" has always been a pinnacle of their career. It's "prog" enough for my tastes. The opening "Amanda" is cheesy but the rest is pure perfection. The Launch - Cool the Engines is just sick stuff. Scholtz made all the effects with guitar... no synths were used. PS: I played this album to my 14-year old nephew (who plays guitar) and he was completely sold.
  5. Oh yeah... I have "Live in Europe" from Callagher. What studio works do you recommend? I was a teenager in the late 80's/early 90's and I loved Bad Company with the singer Brian Howe. I like Free and the Paul Rodgers-era too... I mean who doesn't... but Howe was/is a spectacular rock vocalist. He debuted in Ted Nugent's "Penetrator". Then Bad Company's "Holy Water" and "Here Comes trouble" are amazing albums. Howe sold over 20 million records with B/C but when Rodgers returned he was pretty much forgotten. Now he has made a great, great solo album "Circus Bar" which has been going virtually unnoticed. The guy just performs in some small bars and clubs these days. Shame... as this is a magnificent album in its genre (AOR/Van Hagar/Whitesnake)-style. One of the best voices in rock, definitely.
  6. Funny story. Two of my favorite bands ever. Well Pink Floyd being close.
  7. @Hambone: Do you mind if I change the topic title to "Classic Rock Bands"? This could be a good discussion.
  8. My dad saw them live at Helsinki Culture House in front of a few hundred people back in 1969. That's unbelievable. Edit: It was 1970.
  9. Being a lifelong Zep fan I was always pissed because their only live album was crappy "The Song Remains The Same". It was embarrassingly bad but when "How the West Was Won" was released I was in the 7th heaven. The Knebworth gig is worth watching too. I had lots of their boots too... but most of them had bad audio quality.
  10. I'm born in the 70'S but I grew up listening to The Who, Led Zeppelin, Journey, Boston, Bad Company, The Beatles, David Bowie and Pink Floyd. I always tried to get into the Stones but for some reason they never "grabbed" me that much for some reason. But of course they're highly respected, and rightly so. I've seen them live too (in the 90's). And yeah... going back there I recall that Meat Loaf's "Bat out of Hell" was one of the kickass albums of the 70's. It was not "cool" to dig Meat though. Dunno why... "Bat" was pure genius.
  11. Nothing like that but apparently they have adjusted their bandwith limits... all my old rep reviews' photos are temporarily disabled as the bandwith has exceeded. I doubt those photos have caused it but it's impossible to track down which photo(s) are the bandwith eaters.
  12. This is a must-read for GMT fans. http://www.doubleredseadweller.com/watch-info/gmt/gmt-in-transition.html
  13. That black strap has to go though. Only Oyster or Jubileë for Pepsi. No exceptions.
  14. That's easily among the top-5 coolest watches ever made. That's what I think.
  15. Why don't you check out THE thread of the worst reps? http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/22488-the-horror-museum-the-worst-possible-reps/ (unfortunately some pics have been expired... but there's still some gems available)
  16. In the old days ETA-powered reps weighed more as they had solid middle links on the bracelet. Now there is no meaningful weight difference.
  17. The Rolex Forum is the funniest of them all. There are some good people of course but most of the membership are some nerdy department head-types who think that buying a Rolex has finally made them a "worthier person".
  18. Brilliant. That Maurice Lacroix is beautiful. Nothing wrong with the Nautilus, either.
  19. Check out these vids... a collector has all the classic arcade games. And no... not emulated but the actual cabinets. I spent my whole youth in the arcades and that place would be a dreamland.
  20. What's terrible about them? The coronet on my WM9 Sub is actually much sharper than the coronet on my gen 16710.
  21. Are you aware that the SELs on YM protrude over the lugs on the gen? YM doesn't have similar SELs as the classic Submariner and GMT Master.
  22. Try 99,99% and you're closer to the reality.

    V.2 Sub C

I think it's because most people don't care for the new fat lugs Submariner. Gen or rep. Including me. The rep is pretty good but the watch model itself doesn't do anything for me. The green Sub is dreadful.
  24. Good? Depends what you compare it to. Compared to WM9 or TC it's very weak rep. If it's a cheap one (under $100) it's ok. Good: Nice dial Nice datemag (correctly positioned) Bad: Awful SELs Oversized crown Not-so-good crown guards Really weird looking crystal/rehaut combo I believe this is the old WM9 from Eddie Lee/River. It was good back in 2004 but times have changed. The best thing about it is the genuine Swiss ETA movement which it (most likely) has.
