Beautiful lineup! I almost wish my wrists and hands were smaller so I could buy a DateJust with Oyster bracelet. It's a great classic and I like it on a Oyster especially.

Starting this hot summer day with my favorite Rolex.

I love this watch and the design all the way. The white dial with gold hands is almost perfect dress watch. However I don't like the plain stainless steel bracelet on a watch that has gold in the watch head. Same thing why I never warmed up to the old model TT BCE. But even with this small annoyance I love that watch. One day I will get a two-tone watch in my collection again and GST is really high on my list.

Nice work with this 1680 Red... About the magnification still... very few people know that 16710 (GMT II) and 16570 (Explorer II) have smaller magnification than Submariner, probably due to a bit shallower rehaut. Maybe the cyclops used is different too. Not very important but this doesn't get mentioned often.

You're correct, looks like typical 21J street junk. Surprised that a guy with high feedback is trying to sell that kind of POS.

There is no good rep. The preowned gens go for as low as $700 on TZ and WUS. Doesn't make a sense to make a $250 replica of that, does it?

How much he's asking for it? Keep in mind that two-tone Daytonas are MUCH cheaper than stainless steel versions in the preowned market. Especially the Zenith ones. From an investment point of view the steel version is much better choice. I have a feeling that Zenith Daytona values will only go up in the next years.

I didn't even want to look at it. When I saw that nerdy looking 14-year old I knew immediately that it was going to be a bad replica.

You managed to find a newer style gen Coke insert I see. The red is darker "maroonish" on it. Looks fantastic!

@Cats: Gen inserts have stupid prices on Ebay. They charge 40 Euros for it on the AD and 150 on Ebay. Good alternative is this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&Item=170519504819&Category=57714&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26its%3DI%26otn%3D2 I used these on my Transformers. They require sanding but look very nice. Colors are quite accurate.

No of course not... the hour hand moves in these increments only on crown setup position 2. That's the independent hour hand setup position where you can move it backwards or forwards... date goes backwards and forwards too (when needed). Gen 3185 doesn't have a quickset date at all. That's the whole idea of this watch... you can always turn the hour forwards or backwards when you're traveling through the timezones. Watch doesn't hack in this crown position. The hour hand is normally in sync with the minute hand all the time, just like all other watches. Properly treated Skyland rep bracelet is very, very good quality. I don't understand where these claims of "bad rep bracelets" come from, I simply don't. They might feel bad out of the box but completely different after oiling and hard polishing. I have gen Pro2 (brushed) on my Fish and the links are just as thick... and I have a hard time calling the treated rep bracelet slightly inferior in any way. If you're picky you could complain about the clasp engraving, it's sharper and more accurate on the gen. Of course the gen also has superbly machined brushed finish but you pay heck of a lot for this (if you remember how expensive the Ling bracelets are). Steelfish rep bracelets aren't as good. They don't have correctly recessed SELs and generally there seems to be sloppiness in that area. Treated Skyland rep bracelet is superb, imho.

There is a lot of confusion about 3185. Most people even in the watch forums don't have a slightest clue how that movement operates. Only the main 12 hour hand moves in one hour increments on the gen, not the 24h GMT hand. On the gen the 24h hand simply follows the hour hand sync.
