  1. I really don't understand the gall of some people. Even though he may not have understood a word you said, you did your best to embarrass him, then proceeded to call him out to his boss. I can read people very well my friend, and I am pretty sure you are an arrogant, snob nosed [censored].
  2. Nice UB7, does it come in a mens? Just kidding, I'm not really a fan of the bling but it does look nice on this one. It looks subtle and elegant. Congrats mate!
  3. You know its kind of just the nature of this hobby. It is very difficult to remain as enthusiastic over a long period of time. The more watches you buy, the less of a high you get by receiving them. When I first started buying reps I would wear them for months on end without taking the off my wrist. Now, I'm lucky if a new watch lasts the weekend. Its very easy to go broke when you get to that level. Quite simply, I've had to tell myself that there is no need to own everything. I still love the forums, and will even review watches that I don't own. By-Tor choses to use Photography to keep him interested. Victoria is no stranger to forums. Google her forum name and you will see what I mean. She is also no stranger to forum politics, and could hold herself quite well. I do not think that this had anything to do with her departure. I believe that her planned vacation was simply enough to break her addiction and make her realize that she could be focusing her energy elsewhere. Perhaps on some other web forum? Perhaps something has happened in her life that has refocussed her priorities? Perhaps she was killed or injured in an accident of some sort? That is the drawback of forum life, no matter how well or how long we have known each other, we really don't know each other at all. And, tomorrow it may be you or I that simply vanishes forever. (OK, more likely to be you cause I'm always here )
  4. I'd dare to guess that this was one of the first modern Super Reps. Of course we can look back now at the Chrono Avenger and Avenger as being the first, but the term Super Rep wasn't used until more recently.
  5. Beauty Lan! Love the watch, but due to a medical condition I've recently had to give up the coffee Really nice pics mate!
  6. Its gen. Yes there are good reps available now, but not of the 24mm version that I am aware of. I've only seen the 22mm version.
  7. Nice watch BT. I recently picked one of these up and am blown away by it. Easily one of the most accurate reps there is in both form and function.
  8. I have only seen the manual wind speedies with the glass back.
  9. Not really non functional. Generally one subdial will record days (either mon-sunday or sometimes 1-7). Second subdial will indicate date (1-31), and the third subdial will be a 24 hour clock. The date functions are set via the pushers. (but they do advance automatically).
  10. I like to use Epoxy for precisely this reason. I coat the hole, and coat the tube, then hold the tube tightly in place with masking tape. After allowing to dry for a full day, carve out the excess glue from the inside of the case. You shouldn't get any leakage on the outside if the tube was securely held in.
  11. Skyland should be here any day now, and from what I'm hearing it will be good! Certainly much better than this
  12. Haven't seen this one anywhere else, but Silix has them posted.
  13. I don't get it, this is the same price as the Omega rubber strap that nobody had a problem with. If the quality is good, which I'm sure it is, then its not a bad deal based on Breitling's revised pricing. With taxes from an AD you are going to walk away at least $120 lighter. Thats much more than most are prepared to pay for a rubber strap. Besides, Paul will have these for about $50 any day now
  14. Great job Andrew, could we get a good movement comparison shot? From what I've seen this one looks as good on the inside as it does on the outside!
  15. As previously stated, the gen price has been raised to $110 plus taxes at an AD, and thats if you can find one. At $68 shipped, it may not be too bad of an alternative provided the quality is there.
  16. I'm pretty sure his straps include postage. Also, I've heard that Breitling had a recent price increase and the Diver strap is over $100 now. Not certain about that though.
  17. Josh told me that the ProRacer strap with deployant is coming next month. Perhaps it will be more of a bargain!
  18. The good news is that Josh has done what looks to be a nicely made rep of the Breitling Pro Divers strap. Like the PO strap, this one is dust resistant and is reproduced using the gen as a model. The bad news is that at $68 it is more expensive than the genuine I got from my AD ($65). I did get a deal, but I think they were listing at $75 at the time.
  19. BTW, spoke with Josh this morning and was informed that all future stock from that manufacturer will have the upgraded date wheel. Good news!
  20. Pretty stupid of Paul to put a direct link to the official Omega website on that page. Click where it says...
  21. The insert looks great, at least in pictures it does. There is no pearl on this one so there are only two factors to consider, print and color. From what I can see, the print is pretty good but not perfect. The triangle is slightly wider at the top than the gens. Also, the hour marks do not come as close to the edges as the gens do. As for color, pictures can't tell the story and someone will have to do a comparison at the AD.
