  1. Interesting, could you post a higher resolution shot of the whole caseback?
  2. Considering the value of the watch, i really think you only have one option here. Call them and say that you have no proof of sending the watch for repair as it was done through an internet club, and the repairer is a hobbyist, not a business. Now await their next move. They will undoubtedly affix a price and try to get money from you. If the amount is small, pay it. If it is substantial, gasp and tell them it is a cheap replica that you received as a gift. (explaining both the declared value, and lack of shipping proof on your end) At this point the may confiscate it or they may not. Above all, do not extend your lie any further than it has gone already.
  3. Love that BCE! Think you forgot to mention that its a gen strap as well?
  4. Curious as to why you didn't throw a lello datewheeel on while it was in for service?
  5. When setting the date on an automatic, follow these steps... To set date to the 6th 1. Pull out crown to third position and advance time until date changes. 2. Continue advancing time until 6:00 AM 3. Push crown in one stop and advance date to the 5th 4. Pull crown out and advance time until date changes to 6th 5. Now set time remembering to advance past 12 if PM is required. Following these steps will not only ensure that the date will change when required, but will also eliminate any chance of damaging the movement.
  6. Wow! Very nice piece. If it weren't for my girl wrists I'd buy one of these!
  7. Temps are close to that in Toronto as well and I'M LOVIN IT!
  8. Like gen watches, things can change from watch to watch. Parts and watches are not all made on the same day, so you will see a variation as there is no real quality standard in place. Things like AR will vary drastically. Chinese movements are just the same, some are noisier than others, and some last longer than others, it all depends on assembly. Take the movement apart, clean it, and lube and reassemble it and I'm sure they would all perform equally.
  9. Good luck, there is only one person I know of that is capable of doing this mod and he is on an extended hiatus. As far as I know he only did two or three of these, so good luck finding one!
  10. Whatever you think of them, they do make some pretty interesting watches! Check this one out...
  11. I guess you won't be buying their new Hiroshima DNA watch then?
  12. Hey, still cheaper than some of their gens
  13. I understand your feelings on this DBR, but IMO the Titanic stands as much more than a monument to the lives lost. The Titanic is a symbol of man's mortality. Man was too cocky. Unsinkable they called it. The Titanic is a reminder that we are helpless against the forces of nature, and that we must never feel that we have become to superior to ignore those forces. That is a lesson that should never be forgotten.

  15. Ooops, Josh's version is actually the ceramic bezel version. Here's the gen...
  16. Here is the gen btw. Notice the incorrect second hand and lack of black color on the outside of the lugs
  17. I know that a lot of guys didn't like this one, but I appreciate the historic relevance of this one, having been interested in the Titanic for the better part of my life. Josh has posted the rose gold version and a rather terrible tourbillon version, so hopefully the SS or "Rusty" version will be coming soon.
  18. No micro regulator adjustment on either would lead me to believe that these are both reps. I can only see the movement pics but another giveaway is where the Tachy ring meets the dial. On the rep it is very smooth and on the gen there is a bit of an edge.
  19. Great comparison Gio! Just picked one of these up myself and am blown away by how good it is.
  20. Yes, UPO refers specifically to the 45mm Planet Ocean that is offered by pretty much all dealers except Silix. The Planet Ocean Chrono with the 7750 is offered by most dealers and it comes from the same manufacturer. There are several generations of this watch however. First gen had a white datewheel. Second gen had black datewheel, but wrong, traditionally positioned date font. Third generation has the correct datewheel with the digits facing towards the center of the watch. Hope this helps!
  21. As far as I know, my Asian SFSO and all others contain a DG2813 which beats at 21k.
  22. Stick with the UPO insert, the fonts on the new one are wrong and the lines are too bold. The only thing I like are the slightly wider triangle that makes the pearl appear higher.
  23. Good deal for someone! Too bad it's for a 42mm.
  24. The one on Rubber is the Silix version which is slightly different. The two on SS bracelets are UPO Lites, basically UPOs with a DG4813 movement.
