New Movement: Compact Subdial Spaced 7750?
triplehd replied to Mickey Padge's topic in General Discussion
Wouldnt an ETA 7750 datewheel fit this movement? If that doesnt work - maybe photo copy a datewheel, print, cut and paste it on the existing datewheel? -
I would love to grab the new SeaWolf - especially in blue or yellow. With the SuperOcean line in both Swiss and Asian movements, you think they would ever produce the SeaWolf with an asian movement, thus a "lite" version?

obama's 401k plan ..allows you to withdraw 10k
triplehd replied to 2005SUBMARINER's topic in The looney bin
Wooooo...cant wait to withdrawal $10k. I got my eye a plenty of watches Maybe, if they allowed the US to rep watches, hand bags, etc., we would be contributing to the US economy and not the Chinese economy, right? -
Did it say Handed over to customs or Inbound to customs. I know I actually had a watch delivered and USPS still said Inbound to Customs. USPS is horrible with updating their site.

A friendly reminder on how to send money using PP
triplehd replied to triplehd's topic in General Discussion
To avoid any mishaps like I had, I recommend better communication between buyer and seller and vice versa. With that being said - it will prevent alot of headaches. -
A friendly reminder on how to send money using PP
triplehd replied to triplehd's topic in General Discussion
Or the name of forums. Repgeek in the subject line isnt too smart, now is it? Un-frickin-believable. -
Members - a little reminder about using Paypal (sending money). Please do not put your forum name, the name of this forum and the type of watch you are purchasing in the SUBJECT line. I got payment the other day and when I was looking at the details, I couldnt beleive what I read in the subject line. WTF ?!?!? A member not only included his forum name (not a biggie), but the actual name of the forum (full name - not abbreviated) - and the brand and type of watch he was purchasing. "You've got payment" is defaulted in the Subject line. Leave it like that. No need to let the member know your forum name, the name of this forum, and the brand of watch you are buying. We already have those details. We dont need PP to know those details as well. Again, just a friendly reminder. Hopefully Im not overreacting, but from the stories i hear about PP freezing accounts, etc....

I was able to put the gen rubber strap on my rep GMT. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the head's up BK. I guess by the money it costs for the watch & then have someone mode it to address the issues, one may as well buy the BK WM9 v2.

Its funny...i was just watching TV and they were playing a clip of Cheney who just said that, "sometimes (during the Bush Administration) that we focused on the economy." Sometimes? Wow, im glad they found what little time they had during their busy schedule to sometimes focus on the economy. Again - there is no right answer for the stimulus package. No one knows, regardless what gets included, is going to fix our economy. This package will be like putting a band aid on a gun shot wound. Its not gonna stop the bleeding. Plain and simple. We got to this point for one main reason, as well as other factors, GREED. Other factors - stupidity, ignorance, etc etc etc.......

Lets keep in mind that Obama has only been in office for 2 weeks and he's inheriting alot on his plate vs what Bush inherited when he took over (and what did Bush do in his first 2 weeks, nonetheless first 100 days). Now, if you guys watch FoxNews (pro-Republicans) or MSNBC (pro-Democrats), what's on? Pickering politicians bitching and moaning about the stimulus plan. Dont get me wrong - we need one, hell, we need 3-4 additional ones too. Lets remember, our country is going through something that we have never been through previously. No, its the same situation as the 20's. Even thought people would like to compare our current situation to that of the 20s - night and day difference. No matter if the Dems have their way with this bill or if the Reps have their way and change it - is it really going to work? No one knows. More than likely no. Why? Again, for a country never facing the economic issues we're facing today (geez, cant imagine what tomorrow will bring - scary), we just cannot say, we need to do "x" instead of "y" to fix z. I dont consider myself a Republican or a Democrate - but an Independent. I dont see Left...I dont see Right...I see everything Including pickering politicians who are already looking at 2012 instead of today. That's the problem with our politicians. They spend more time on TV bitchin than using that energy to help the American people - the same American people who elected their sorry asses in the first place. That's my 2 cents.

When they say customers take responsibility of buying fake products - does that mean customers have to perform their own QC on the products?
-
Ill post some pics between the two watches soon.

I just picked up a WBK SMP. Very very nice watch for the money. The HE is incorrect- no matter how its advertised - not correct. But still a very nice watch indeed. I purchased crystals from watchmaterial and krysworks.

Here is my first watch that I put together from scratch (and so proud of myself ) I always had a love affair with the Omega Seamaster 2824. After parting with 2, yes 2 closed factory versions (I admit, I didn't know any better ) some years back, I always knew that one day, I would redeem myself. Well, I didnt find a closed version or a case with the correct HE valve. Yeah, it be really nice to acquire, but at the end of the day, so what - its a rep, right? While surfing on the bay, I saw an auction for a used gen Omega 2254 dial, which I utlimately won. Upon receiving the dial, I noticed that the lume was coming off each dial markers and upon closer look, the lume actually looked a little brownish like it aged 25 years or something. At first I was bummed, but then that light bulb in my head said - go with it. So that's what I did. Having an asian version of this watch, I knew I couldn't mod it with a 2813 movement or even a 4813 movement. I had o get the real thing - a swiss 2824 movement. Unable to source one for relatively cheap, came up with the best alternative - ETA Clone 2824. After getting the movement, I ordered some brand new hands from Ofrei. Once the hands arrive - it was modding time ! Overall, the watch came out great. Finished on Saturday and hasnt been off my wrist since. I only wished that the numbers on the datewheel were a bit brighter (like on the true ETA 2824 movements). I do have some spare 2824 datewheels, but Im not ready to swap them yet - Im still learning. Parts: Mineral Crystal Rep Case Rep Bracelet Gen Dial Gen Hands ETA Clone 2824 Yeah, I know...mineral crystal. No worries - got a sapphire crystal on the way. From the pics (except for the first one), you would think that the crystal had some AR to it, but no AR on this crystal. I think it looks good without it. Also, on the insert, I removed the pearl to try modding it to look more gen like. But after removing the pearl material, I noticed that the pearl holder (whatever you call it) was a goldenish color. Another part to add to my vintage style watch !!!! Pics

just got the 42mm PO black bezel and really like it...
triplehd replied to tmeister's topic in The Omega Area
The asian versions are still available, but the cases are different that the swiss version. One major different is the HE vavle - on the asian its directly above the 10 (incorrect) whereas the swiss, its off the 10 (correct0. -
Too cruel you two...too cruel Oh, only if certain watches that were one available were still around today...only if .....

(Updated) Goal! Tag "Kirium" Gen dial swap? Is it possible? Goal!
triplehd replied to Spidey7's topic in The Tag Heuer Area
Always check the bay. -
Didnt any stems come with the movements? Check with Ofrei.
