Or PM DW since he's supposed to manufacture new ones.....
-
Looking forward for them to make one with the correct hand stack.... This is the first thing anyone suspicious will look at !
-
True that....
-
His priority is to produce the most desired designs... And that is a total of 6 if I understood well. Then, it all depends on the demand after the first batch finally comes out !!!! He said he wanted to have it ready before xmas, but it seems it won't be... Wait and see : he will have to renew his stocks at some point if he wants to keep up his business, so those new dials will happen ! When is the big question....
-
Yup, easy : drill with a ball shape diamond steel head. 1 sec to do !!!

I've seen non aligned date on a gen once : so that's not a tell in my opinion. But I've never seen gen hands fitted on a non IWC calibre so far. Since those hands are real, that's what makes me believe the movement and therefore the whole watch is. That thing really puzzles me !!!! No reply from the seller so far...
-
Interesting.... So it must be rep, but the hands tells otherwise (we all know dial can easely be changed)... And if it's a rep, how come we've never seen this before? I'm still thinking there might be some "early series" difference. I will contact them and ask.

Has anyone seen this watch before ?

Has anyone seen a all polished caseback like this one before? Back of the lugs are mirror polished and the outer area of the cb as well instead of brushed finish.... Note also the straight serial engraving instead of the usual circular one... You can see more on the bay : http://www.ebay.com/itm/IWC-Big-Pilot-5002-Automatic-7-Day-Power-Reserve-Steel-leather-deployment-/110982651827?_trksid=p5197.m1992&_trkparms=aid%3D111000%26algo%3DREC.CURRENT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D14%26meid%3D4008717568318370854%26pid%3D100015%26prg%3D1006%26rk%3D1%26sd%3D110982651827%26 Now, question is what year is this watch? IWC started production of the 5002 in 2002, right? And I have pics of 2002 and 2003 models with the usual brushed finish and the circular sn. So I'm a bit lost here, because this watch is gen ! So was there an "early" 2002 variant? Or was it simply repolished to the owner's specs. If it a rare early factory finish, I'm thinking of modding one BP from andrew to these specs... I hate this poorly engraved "2958508", and that would be the opportunity to do something different ! Cheers !!!

David says it will, but I never tried....

Gen, those were fitted on the manual wind oysters... I'd give 180 usd tops.

His maker had the first films made two weeks ago, so production should start soon... Ask him ! He wants to be ready to sell for christmas I think. As for the 7750, he had about 1/3 of these designs already adjusted to fit. But of course priority is for V72, as these sell for more... Just like you, I am waiting to see the finished quality ! Once I get the first samples I'll post pictures.

I never owned a gen or a rep YM, so I'm not familiar with that particular model.... Is this new version good enough to be considered a good base to push it to a super rep level? Thanks for your insight !!! See it on : http://www.puretime.co/product/yacht-master-16622-sa3135-best-edition-v2/

Very interesting..... I would say it is a poorly serviced gen, as a poor service would justify the damages to the dial. As for the imperfections : inperfect dials happened on early automatic cosmos and that's not what bothering me. The pinions may look better under good lenses, and your picture probably doesn't do them justice. But just like the others, I'm eager to see the movement pics !!!

Thank you for spotting the missing Cartier dials and point out the second Tiffany.... The 2ROCD dials were not produced, that is true, but they are in the original Singer archives I have... So, that means either a prototype was made, or just the intent to make it : therefore I included them since I strived to have the most complete data of produced AND unproduced dials. You can seen the ROCD dial matrix was considered looking at the "hidden Daytona" that can be seen on ROC dials.
