  1. I'm glad I gave you guys my file !!! I'll try to do that next week and get back to you.
  2. That's great news !!! Let's wait and see what super reps the GZ people will come up with using that movement. Next step : a A72 for our 62xx Daytos...
  3. Go ahead if you want, but I'll do it anyways.... It's just that I don't have much time for this right now.... If you intend to simply rotate the numbers on photoshop you will loose the super sharp edges I strived to redesign and end up with a blurry printout. This was done on autocad, that's why it's so clear. Just wait a week or two, and I'll post an ETA version.
  4. I never tried aluminum because it's too weak to make an ultra slim overlay. But that might be the right color! So maybe could a thin sheet be laminated to a plastic, then engine turned.... I'll have to try that. As for the ETA friendly, I could invert the numbers.... That means redo the whole thing! Someday perhaps.
  5. Thanks !!!! Here is one of the DWO base I made. My sunburst effect is really perfect compared to gen. Even if you don't really see the brushing on the pics, it is a very neat effect, really !!!! Only, I never found a metal that has the same shade as the one used by Rolex... So my plate is way too grey compared to the gen. That's why I never bothered going to the next and final step of the printing.... I'm waiting to find THE color.
  6. Also, for the print out I thought of using the decal sheets for mockups. This way one should be able to get that perfect thick and glossy finish the numbers should have.
  7. I tried the steel sheet, and I did a PERFECT sunburst finish. But the color is way too grey compared to the gen....
  8. Oh, and FYI, here is the window alignment attached. If you print that file as is, you will have just the good size. If by chance someone manages to make a good overlay out of this, I'd really appreciate to have a copy in my mail box !!! This was a pain to design and keep all edges sharp enough....
  9. This is the perfect one, right on size. Took me hours to make that : enjoy !!!
  10. I got lost of PMs asking me if I would reconsider selling it.... Well : I finally sold it now. So no need to ask anymore. Thanks for your interest all !!!
  11. Hi Juan, N usually has a better detailed finish : elements sizes are often accurate vs the gen. When H makes very good copies cosmetically speaking, but if you start to try swapping gen parts to your H watch, differences will appear.... However, in my opinion, H dials are really getting good nowdays !!! The 308 is a nice watch, but it's also a rare watch that comes with a very specific set of box and papers.... So if you want to be credible and pretend your watch is gen, step away from that one and go for a more commun model that can easely be found on the second hand market.... If people know you can't afford it, the 308 will shout fake!
  12. Thanks my friend !!! Since the more recent reps are not as sharp, I can only assume the factory who did this early series disapeared.... Cheers, J
  13. I'm afraid you'll have to buy a complete rep watch and vamp it....
  14. I've never seen an accurate sec @ 9 ready to wear rep. Its always a mix up of the 16520 and the 116520 with plenty of mistakes..... Correct me if I'm wrong, but the only great sec @ 9 are fitted with the gen zenith movt and a gen dial, making them part of the family of the most expensive reps!!!!! In my opinion, the early sec @ 6 are the most accurate budget modern Daytos ever made.
  15. This morning I took the descision to part with my 116520, and once again that bloody watch bewitched me !!! While I was taking my photos to make the sales post, there it goes : I fall in love again when I thought I was finally over that one.... Well, even if there are some small flaws we all know about, the strong points of those very early reps are so STRONG that you can only forgive and forget the tiny mistakes the maker has done. I for one never had issues with the sec at 6 movement in 4 years, so I can only assume there was some good series and some bad ones. I picked that piece directly in GZ, and I am still amazed by the quality when I look at it today !!! It's really something they were able to make such a great and sharp replica with such a small price tag. Enjoy the pics !!!!
  16. Thank you all for your appreciation !!! It took me a long time to learn how to do a good polishing with crisp edges and perfectly flat top sanded lugs.... I'll make some more posts later to show my gold Rolex : they were really damaged when I got them, and I managed to get all the edges back. Cheers !!!!
  17. Please note me in for a 5514. Rolojack: 1x 5514
  18. Superb case !!! When will it be available? You said mid september, does that means we can expect a first batch to be ready for shipping around the end of september? Thanks !!!
  19. That would be funny for me to see one pop out ! They had a typical "o" at the bottom I'd recognize anywhere. Also, I had series of old 70's guarantees printed by a real artist in HK a decade ago. Those too I'd recognize them anywhere !!! Funny enough, I saw one on the bay 2 years ago : some poor guy paid over 150 usd for it !!! I could't believe it. Actually, I still have some left in my drawers. Pristine 70's super convincing all open papers !!!!
  20. Totally agree pam153, unless the watch was previously owned since new by some super famous diver, actor or some sort of celebrity which would justify the want to keep the worn condition of the watch te be able to say : "Hey mate, that watch looks like [censored], but wait: that was the watch Sean Connery actually worn in the first James Bond !!! I have all the papers to show this, blah, blah, blah...", but let's keep in mind such a watch would sell for something like 200K in Christie's, so let's stay on earth here ! Otherwise, nobody likes to keep the dirt and sweat of the previous owner! The "looking new" doesn't mean factory crisp new : that also is close to impossible -and a real afficionado would never kill the value of a REAL new old stock by wearing it !!!- it means "just serviced new", and that is very different. Slightly tarnished dial and hands, but still super clean, and service quality polished case which is far away from the polishing done by the tooling machines at the factory !!! Ah, once again, let's be logical here !
  21. Hi Lolex, Thanks for the nice pictures !!! Very interesting. Are both from DW? Is this the "ready to wear" 350 usd model fitted with the A7750? Did you make any mods to the case? Did you change the crystal, the crown or the pushers? When did you buy them : is this the old DW or the new ones? Thanks !!!
  22. I'm on it mate, after all, it's just the price of a new 7 series !!!! What the hell, right ?
  23. I was a lonesome cowboy in the rep world : I'm new in the forums, so no. But I commissioned a series of 10 pn dials of the rarest versions back in Saigon. They were stamped correctly and the printing was awesome, but the subdials grooving didn't please me as much as I wished... I sold them all in Manila. I liked your comment on the pushers..... Doubt is the cancer of the high end rep builder !!!! Once you even think there is an unaccurate detail it slowly starts to kill you.
  24. Case is from Vietnam, dial is from Thailand, movement and bracelet are gen. Also, I got an interesting PM comment on the fact that my watches look "too new". It is interesting to see most people want to believe "old" has to be damaged..... What ever is the age of your Rolex, when you bring it to the service center, they will return it to you looking brand new ! Are old cars all wrecked? Are 18 century furnitures, clocks and other Art pieces in ruins? Anything well maintened will remian in great shape. That's my philosphy.... To me, a too desirable and too expensive watch or artifact owned/worned by a very proud owner -who obviously knows the value of his posession- in a like "never cared" condition is suspicious. You care for it, you want it to be perfect just like when it came out of the factory !!! I think quite often the whole vintagizing thing is just a way to hide the defects, the loose shape of the case, the poor dial and hands, etc... When if the watch is clean, the smallest flaw becomes obvious.
  25. NICE NICE !!!! I especially like the DR seadweller, it looks really neat !!!! Gen movement? You are a member of the JDC?
