    A little update on that watch : I had the mid case welded on all the pusher side to totally modify the shape and make it 100% accurate against gen. Narrow and deep pusher entry as per the first series of 6238. So far, I haven't seen reps with that feature. If you file down a DW case to make it tonneau shaped, you'll end up with no pusher sittings.... I'll post pics once the watch is ready !!!

    Congratulations !!!! I'm doing a similar job right now and it is not an easy task at all !!!! Mostly if you don't like unproperly done mods such as poor drillings and glued stuff.... About my 6238, it is now dismanteled as I'll have the mid case modified again : pushers holes welded, and reopened with the correct size as is was originally made for screw down pushers.... It that goes well, I'll share my experience !

    Hi guys, I've been looking over the forums and the web to find a picture of the hallmarks of the H fac 231, but I had no luck.... I know they are engraved rather than stamped but I'm wondering how they look.... Anyone has this watch around? That would be great if you could share some good and clear shots of the caseback markings and gold hallmarks for us to see !!!!! Thanks !!!!

    This dial is a New Old Stock belonging to a swiss merchant. He offers a lot of 10 of those dials for 300 usd.... He says the offer is valid for today only, and he does not seem to have much humor.... Dial size is exacly the same as MC dial, so no doubt it should perfectly fit the case. It is a genuine swiss made 1960's dial, so I assume quality will be outstanding. Now, if anyone is serious about getting that lot, just contact him today. PM me if you want his contact. There is some modding to do to the dial : it has a "17 jewels incabloc" at 6 to be erased, and the Tudor Logo to add. Easy task I believe.

    Well, it's on then !!! DW case and hands, gen mvt of course, and NOS blank swiss dial to be customized.... I'll have the parts in a week or so, and assemble this when I have so time. I'll post pictures here !

    What do you guys think ? Since there was so many experiments made for Tudor models, I thought this could work.... Plus, I noticed many experimental models use the 30 mins counter... Which is rather rep friendly !

    I re-milled an old brass movement mount to get it to fit in the case without a micron loose so nothing will ever move when you push back the stem after setting the hour. No big deal here ! If you ae looking for brass mounts, you can get some from raffles.

    Unfortunately I don't have that equipment. I have old machine tools that do the job as well ! The one I used here is a sort of sanding treadmill, and the case is held by a custom made wood clamp.

    Hi all, I wanted to share what can be done based on the ol'cartel cases retailed by JMB. They are truly the perfect candidate to make a first series Explorer 1 case. All 3 elements have been re-engine turned here : caseback, mid case and bezel. Inside runs a ETA, held by a custom made brass holder for a perfect mount ! Cheers !!!!

    Of course gen dial is a must... we all know that. But considering that would cost about 1000 usd, I prefer to move on other projects for now ! There will be some for sale around for some time. One is on the bay now for 950 usd

    I owed TC these pictures. The watch is really awesome, and I said I'd share pictures of it with the community.... So here it is !!! I've been wearing it for over 2 month now -and yes: no scratches....-, and I love it more and more. I was planning on upgrading it, but finally it's great as it is.

    Nice, I did not know about them. But again : all black stuff. It is not uncommun anymore and I'm looking for a more unique look.... I'll post pics on my project when it's done !
