  1. The missing arrow on the G is a problem with all Tag reps that have an applied logo on the dial. The painted logos are pretty much perfect. I have not seen a Tag rep with a good applied logo, my Day Date is a perfect example, an otherwise excellent rep with a bad dial logo.
  2. As much as I hate that this happened almost right out of the box, I had a lot of fun taking the watch apart and I am looking forward to taking many more watches apart.... and putting them back together of course.
  3. Well, as expected, my 45mm Planet Ocean showed up along with my James Bond SMP. I was really only waiting for the PO, the SMP was a deal from Pure Time, but that little Seamaster is starting to grow on me. Both watches arrived looking very good, the Planet Ocean seriously outclassing the little Seamaster on first impressions. The looked fantastic and I couldn't wait to size them up and mount them on wrist I had an extra long wait for this order and was very excited, of course, I can't put it on the wrist without setting my new watch, and that's when it all went bad........ As far as I can tell, when I passed 12 with the hour hand it made contact with the Omega logo, "no happy feet!" but I'm afraid that's the least of my problems As you can see, the logo pulled up on the left side, it's now bent with one mounting pin removed from the mounting hole in the dial. This is a larger problem for one (me) with no experience, no tools, no jewelers loop (not even a magnifying glass), and absolutely no patience. I started by removing the case back and movement, I improvised a case back opener from a couple of forks and got some small tools that could help me out. Sorry, but none of that was documented and I didn't know how to accurately show that I spent 2 hours trying to place that tune logo back on the dial. This required bending it back into shape, flattening it, losing it, finding it, and lining up the tiny pins with the holes in the dial. When it was all said and done, I had severely scratched the logo, put some small scratches on the dial, and missed my slow pitch game (didn't want to go anyway). This was not how I wanted to spend my first night with a new watch but I'm glad I put the time in and now I can start shopping for a Gen dial and hands as my first mod. This is the watch as it sits following that little fiasco, well actually it sits on my wrist currently, but you get the picture. Thanks for taking the time to hear my little tale. I'll have to keep you all posted once the modding starts, first things first, I'll be getting some proper tools
  4. Here is a fresh charge, easily readable 8hours later in the dark.
  5. I believe this is the one, still working on that Lume shot, it is excellent though. http://puretime.co/product/submariner-116610-ln-black-ceramic-316f-best-edition-a2836-superclone/
  6. I'll try to get a good lume shot of my 116610 from Puretime, the lume is fantastic but it's hard to say if you will get the same results for every watch. I'll post a pic when I get home from work tonight, I am very happy with it, to date it's the best rep lume in my growing collection!
  7. Hate the strap, I'd go with a perforated leather, or the standard Crocodile leather strap, but I just love that watch. I completely agree that it looks better with the stick indicators rather than the Arabic Numerals. I would think this would be very easy to rep, they have the base watch and as stated earlier, it's an excellent rep out of the box. If you find one, let us all know
  8. Off to work, brand new 4mm PO on the wrist. I'll share they'll that was last night a little later
  9. Waiting at the post office, after hours for the delivery truck to arrive with my new watches, until then.... I'll be wearing this
  10. Quartz Citizen Skyhawk today, every once in a while I remember how much I like this watch
  11. Back on the wrist for this morning, too bad I'm not still on that patio.
  12. Sunshine, patio DEEP SEA... Heaven;)
  13. DSSD, I needed something manly to juxtapose the pink in my shirt
  14. Any dive rep goes in the water with me, after a quick home test first of course. The only chrono that goes in the water is my Gen Seiko sportura with screw in crown on a rubber strap. And of course my cheapo Invicta gets plenty of splash time.
  15. His and hers, on a dinner date with the Mrs.
  16. I went for this as well, waiting for the 45mm PO. This may be my first attempt at a Franken as it seems that the genuine parts are available from Omega without too much hassel. I don't know if I have the stomach for building a watch yet but it's only a matter of time before I take the plunge.
  17. Kanye West, not what I would have expected either but I'm a little into it right now
  18. I know it's late, out for dinner and just had to share these cuff links
  19. Option 1 (*best option*) Purchase a high quality rep with a movement that replicates the gen (28800bph for 28800bph) when it breaks down/requires servicing get it serviced. This is the only option you have if you don't want a dead giveaway, 21600bph movement in place of a 28800bph movement is a pretty good giveaway. Option 2 Purchase a cheaper $100ish rep with a 21j 21600bph movement. this will give you a sweeping second hand that on closer inspection will be obvious as to its beat rate but from a distance will at least not appear to tick. Option 3 (*Don't do it*) Purchase a quartz rep that will have glaring flaws in the case, bracelet, dial, caseback etc. On top of all of that you will be left staring at the ticking second hand. Tick Tock, Tick Tock, Tick Tock! Option 4 Don't get a rep! Dive watch? - Invicta full stop. The sweeping quartz movement you are looking for does not exist in the rep world, get a Bulova Precisionist from amazon, the second hand actually sweeps, unlike a mechanical movement, some can be had in the low $200 range. Ultimately it's your call but these are your options, the first two are the only ones that will give you what you're looking for.
  20. I'll second that, Why a Rolex needs to cost $8,000 not $1,000 is still beyond me, aside from all the money that is spent to tell everyone that the watch is worth $8,000. A Submariner would be one heck of a $1,000 watch by the way but considering they probably cost about $400 to make, I'd say we're getting hosed to the tune of an approximately 2000% mark up
  21. 116610 for me today, I'm sure that will change by the end of the day Maybe the Carrera for the afternoon Or some quartz chrono love It's going to be a good Saturday
  22. Tag Heuer Carrera, Day-Date for this fella today
  23. I am yet to see a Day Date 43mm Carrera with the corrected TAG logo, I believe they all have the bad G with the applied logo whereas the printed logos on the 41mm versions are quite accurate.
