  1. The DSN 027 looks to be a great watch...from the pics I've seen. The 028 is a different story but I'm really digging the 027.
  2. Nice strap Mike...and nice watch too.
  3. is feeling good!

  4. Absolutely stunning watch...one of the best frankens I've ever seen. Bravo!
  5. Just a quick question. Is it safe to say that the ETA 2892 will not fit into the 16030 case...even with the conversion ring? It looks like stilty's 2892 conversion ring is only for the 3135 cases. So I'd be looking for either a 2836 or a 2824?
  6. What a beauty! Gotta love that crystal.
  7. Hmm, I'm definitely going to need a little coaching with this. I am comfortable uncasing a movement and such but I'll have to look into the swapping of the minute and hour wheels. Once the parts get here, I'll post pics and will document the whole process.
  8. I see, I'm using a 16030 case set so that would be a 3035 movement...so I ordered a stilty 2824/2836 conversion to 3035 ring. That takes care of that. So Tudor hands will work on the 2824 movements because Tudor used 2824 movements in their watches, right. I suppose the bay is a good place to start looking for the hands. Thanks for your responses!
  9. I've got a gen case set complete with dial & bracelet on its way to me. What movement would one recommend to use for the gen dial? Would a 2836 work? 2824 or 2892? I've been checking out some ETA 2892 movements on the bay...one is an ETA 2892 based Omega movement...what should I be looking out for when it comes to the diameter & height of the movement? I've got a movement conversion ring on its way from Stilty right now. Also, I'm assuming I cannot use the gen hands on the ETA movement...no matter which one I end up using. Can the gen hands be modded to fit the ETA 28xx movement or should I just use aftermarket hands? Can someone recommend a good supplier of accurate aftermarket datejust hands? Should I just source a donor rep datejust?
  10. Is it just me or does anybody else love the acrylic crystal on the older DJ. I've been searching for one of these for my wife. I would love to find a completed franken project...but would consider a gen for the right price.
  11. Keep the original bezel on the watch...they will not return the original to you if you have it replaced. If anything...just have them tighten it up.
  12. May his soul finally get some peace! Take er easy Mike! RIP
  13. I'll try unscrewing the screw a little more but as it is now the screw holds the stem in and will not allow me to pull it out. Thanks for your response.
  14. So I uncased the A6497 in one of my pams to remove the AR on the crystal...something I've done many times before. When I went to insert the stem back into the movement, after tightening the screw the tiny screw that secures the stem into the movement, I cannot wind the watch. The crown is in the wind position but advances the hands instead of winding the movement. Usually you have to pull the crown out and push it back in to engage the winding mech (don't know the term) but I cannot pull the crown out far enough. I don't want to yank on it and risk breaking the stem off. Is there anyone here that can offer any insight? I've never seen this one before.
  15. This is a stunning watch, rep or gen...one that's growing on me...might need to add it to the collection soon.
  16. Beautiful watch...sorta hard to tell from the pics...but I know it's beautiful...
  17. Take the Daytona...Take the Daytona...Take the Daytona...Take the Daytona... Quit buying reps for as long as you can...maybe 6 months, a year. But as long as you're on the boards, you'll eventually buy again...I know I did. But seriously, take the Daytona and keep it forever. What a gift!!!
  18. Same here...never had a problem. DSN will never guarantee a fit though...unless he sells the caseback on a watch.
  19. Love that 250g! Stunning on the bracelet...
