  1. I think these hands from Clark are pretty good for the price. Need to be relumed though http://www.ebay.com/itm/252280998291?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  2. The short answer, yes. Depends on the watch though. These MBW watches I was very excited for. On the other hand I bought the latest IWC 5001/5007 right when it came out. But I was away from the fora for a few months so I didn't have any of the anticipation that most of the other members had, waiting for its arrival. I did however get excited for the gen strap to arrive because the one that came with the rep was terrible so the watch couldn't be worn.
  3. Looks very, very nice. I wish the DJ didn't look so puny on my wrist
  4. Nice work. Looks like it was worn lovingly. No wrist shot though?
  5. I agree with 508 about wearing a dress watch. I would probably be wearing my great grandfathers Omega De Ville, but if I were to choose a rep it would be a Patek for sure.
  6. Im sure you can find a mesh or jubilee bracelet with straight end links. I did a quick search but it looks like only 14m or 16mm available so you might have to settle for 14mm
  7. Got a good deal on a gen bracelet for my gen BB Tudor Black Bay on Bracelet by Tyler David, on Flickr
  8. Ha! I want this: Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater house
  9. To my untrained eye that kind of looks like a miyota movement
  10. Why don't we start with, what's the problem with your sub? You can easily buy replacement movements to fit what you already have or even have it repaired for less then the cost of a brand new watch.
  11. Rolex Submariner 5513 Ghost by Tyler David, on Flickr
  12. Great looking sub! I have bought the WSO pearl in the past but it's a little too tall and narrow IMO. I believe the gen is a little flatter and wider and was under the impression that Ofrei carried something that is basically identical.
  13. From what I can tell the Yuki pearl looks the same as the WSO pearl at double the price
  14. I needed to get two vintage style acrylic pearls. I placed an order with Ofrei for two 5513 inserts since they were less then $10 more then just the pearl itself. They arrived today but with the more modern style generic pearl with the metal surround like this: The part number is specifically different then the other black insert they have made for the 16800. But now as I look on the site I am thinking that has to do with the inner diameter of the insert. One for a watch with plexi, one for sapphire. Now my question is which is the right pearl to order. I don't want to make another mistake so is this the right part for the acrylic pearl?
  15. Ok. I put my MBW insert in the toaster oven on bake @390 for a total of 10 min (5 min check and 5 again) with 0 change. I had lightly bleached it before hand too. I decided to call it a day because the insert was starting to warp just a tad.
  16. Yeah, Im definitely going to recruit someone. Every build I touch gets destroyed
  17. Wow that's great to know! Thanks for that info, I'm such a noob at this stuff. But the dial feet placement will still be set up for the Rolex movement correct?
  18. Thanks for the reply. I'm using it on my new MBW with an ETA movement. Won't that be an issue for both the dial feet and the date wheel location?
  19. This build is already having it's challenges and I don't even have all the parts yet. I was hoping to use Yuki's 1680 white dial for ETA movement but it seems both the white and red ETA dials are out of stock. I sent him an email to confirm but no response yet. Phong says he can get one special ordered but I don't really feel like spending $350 on a dial. Any recommendations?
  20. Im reading around more now. Even on some of the gen forums it seems that cooking inserts at about 200c/395f for one minute will get you a very mild brown color with out doing any fading. Sounds like I have some experimenting to do tomorrow
  21. I definitely have a spare insert I can test it on. Does anyone know if throwing it in an oven have any effect? That's something else I was considering. A light bleaching and baking but I don't want to get any toxic fumes in my house.
