  1. Vancouver? It should have a pot leaf on there somewhere. LOL. Just kidding. (I'm from Vancouver BTW) I'm sure someone will buy it, but personally I think it is damn ugly.
  2. Wow, some crazy circumstances there! There is only one way to ship high end watches. ParcelPro.com I've used them a few times with no problems. Actually used Fedex as the carrier. They are 3rd party insurance. Up to $75K per package.
  3. Interesting idea! I've got a couple hundred blanks waiting to be printed. some are prepainted, and some are still bare steel. I might have to give it a try. How is the resolution? I tried to print out at 1200dpi on laser during test printing and I find it not clean enough, and I am using a vector file. I'll see if I can find someone with 2400dpi output that can print and give your method a shot.
  4. Woo Hoo! Phone rings from area code 212. Figured it might be the hotel or something with a room change. But no! It is Letterman (not him personally) calling to say they have a pair of tickets for me for next week. Anyone ever go to a taping? Does Gold list mean anything?
  5. I have a new service replacement disc. It is white with round 3's. Genuine Rolex. PM is interested.
  6. It is a nice day today.
  7. that is normal the 14060 uses a smaller crystal and bezel, so that is probably why it does not hang over 16610/16800 uses a 295c crystal 29.5mm 14060 uses a 286 crystal 28.6mm
  8. Agreed. You really have to be careful. Just because you see one on eBay, does not mean it is 100%. Though it may contain 100% genuine Rolex parts, it could easily be a franken. Also, champagne discs were always for TT and gold models. All the way back to 1570 movements. It was not something that just happened after 1999. But not to crap on your thread, good job, it looks like it is coming along nicely! With the 3035 movement, it looks like you are on your way to a nice 16803 Sub. You just need to get yourself a champagne date disc and it is complete. If everything fits together, probably no need to mess with the Euro case. Here's a nice pic of a gen 16803. c3035 with champagne disc. Anyone notice something different about the bezel insert? Blue bezel, silver markers, and 18K pearl. I have the same bezel and dial in my parts drawer. I wonder if it was one of Rolex's transitional oddities?
  9. You could try and shim the holder so it doesn't move around. I've done this before to prevent shifting. I used some aluminum duct tape. I cut off a thin strip and use it. it is sticky and you can line your movement holder, then slide it over your movement. this should take care of your problem.
  10. hands are temporary. I just put it together to get a feel for it. I have a set of aged hands on the way as replacements. Also, have a new RSC dial, hand set, and insert on the way. Now she will look spankin' new as if she just came from the Rolex spa. LOL.
  11. Luck and Patience.... otherwise is will cost you $1000
  12. Well, I managed to get a password for this morning. Opening Day completely sold out. But I did buy tickets for the Friday game. Now I'm a Yankee, fan, but damn is that organization greedy. For the Friday game, there were only three price levels available. I could sit behind the foul pole for $90 a ticket, sit behind home plate 20 rows up for $375 a seat, or sit behind home plate 9 rows up for $900 a seat. Damn.
  13. Here's a nice shot of a gen that has not been polished. I hope to achieve this look one day. Lug bevels still intact.
  14. wow! She's a beauty. Congrats on your acquisition. Now another to my list.
  15. it is a spacer and it is completely flat. I tried to bend it, but it has no affect. I will try to find a replacement and see if that helps. it now turns freely without pushing down.
  16. Thanks for the comments everyone. I think it is a good base to start. Case is from Yuki. Out of the box. It ships with no crystal, tube, or crown. I installed a vintage Sternkreuz Cyclop 127. Made in the Federal Republic of Germany! Also installed an early model 703 Rolex tube. Yes, the case looks spankin' new. But I think I will leave it the way it is and let day to day wearing age it naturally. I've seen a few gen out there that still have the factory finish on the lugs before overpolishing. Only problems so far, is the bezel is too loose. I will have to replace the tension spring to stiffen it up. Also, the lug spacing is a hair too wide. There is a slight spacing on the end pieces. Some great bonus points. The gen tube fits perfectly. Screws in nice and tight and perfectly recessed. The caseback screws in nice and smooth. The crystal snapped on tight. Lugholes are perfectly aligned and the gen springbars fit perfect. Oh yes, the engravings are not too bad either. To me, they look a bit modern in the font, but definitely better than the usual rep laser engravings. Here is another dial shot from this morning. Date disc is a test print. Good news, is all the number fit and align with the date window! Next step is a 1570 with gen dial and hand set. I'm actively searching for a 1570, so if anyone out there has one they would like to part with, please let me know. I've given up my franken 16610 and it is available in the sales section. I think the 1680 is a project worth pursuing.
  17. Dial is from Yuki. Date discs are on my mind daily as I have a lot invested, but no time to work on it. There are a few samples out there for testing. Unfortunately, it is looking like I won't be able to focus until May. Everything is in place expect my time. I was so close, but got held up. The case will definitely need some "wearing in", but I'll cross that bridge when I find a few more parts.
  18. Well, I ended up with a nice 1680 case. It was destined for friend, but we ended up making a deal for something else, so now I have it to play with. I quickly threw it together to get a feel for it. SO, please excuse the hands. They are all I have to work with at the moment. Replacements on order soon. I snapped a few pictures in hopes of getting some feedback from the resident experts. Please feel free to respond or PM me your thoughts on this case. First off, I love the machining and finish on this. Also the steel color is excellent. The crystal is a vintage stern 127. Bracelet is a vintage 93150 with 580 hoods. Keep in mind this is a work in progress, but I wanted some feedback on the case. Here we go: Full Frontal Side shot: And another: Side profile: Back: Another back shot: hood and bracelet fitted: nice beveled lugs: crown guards and beveled lugs: Crown unscrewed: And again: Nice vintage buckle: I'm somewhat of a rookie when it comes to vintage sport models. I mainly work with vintage and modern franken datejusts. soon to upgrade gen dial and hand set. But I think I'm off to a good start on this. Feedback is appreciated.
  19. Hi Members, Just thought I would throw this out there. Anyone have the presale password for the Yankees? Anyone know a season ticket holder that is not using theirs? Full Season Ticket Holder Presale: Start:Thu, 03/19/09 10:00 AM EDT End:Thu, 03/19/09 10:00 PM EDT Partial Season Ticket Holder Presale: Start:Fri, 03/20/09 10:00 AM EDT End:Fri, 03/20/09 10:00 PM EDT MLB.com Registration Winners: Start:Mon, 03/23/09 10:00 AM EDT End:Mon, 03/23/09 10:00 PM EDT I'm going to be in NYC April 16-19 and would love to get a pair for April 16. I'd like to avoid Stubhub if possible. Thanks.
  20. listed on ebay: 250389849315 I can't see these lasting long. good deal!
  21. Fantastic suggestion! I usually use a slow set epoxy to glue down date overlays and dials, but I gave silicon a try and it works great! Only small dots evenly spaced apart. I used it for a date overlay and it is perfect. The silicon cut my work time in half on a date disc installation. It is tacky, yet still able to move for adjustments before curing.
  22. I checked my tin of clamps and I don't have the long ones anymore. I remember now that I ground them down so I could use them. They were clamps for an ETA 2892-A2 but called special WP clamps on the borel parts list. Definitely longer than the usual clamps out there. part number 166/1/554.101 $4.40 each
  23. how long do you need? please post a pic if you can. I have a bunch of them in various lengths. Some very long ones as well. All gen ETA. Depending where you buy, they run from $4-$5 each. PM me and I can sell you a set if I have what you need.
  24. As suggested a few times. The Eurotimez V.3 is your best option. It takes the gen bezel assembly and gen crystal. Stem alignment is for 2836-2 and the 3035 will line up as well. All it needs is the lug holes enlarged to fit gen springbars. unfortunately, a gen spec. bezel assembly will not fit the noob case.
  25. the 3035 should fit fine in a WM9 case. I fit an ETA with my 3035 movement holder in a Eurotimez V.3 case that was machined for 2836-2. And Alligoat is correct. 2824-2 is very close to 3135. The difference is 0.05mm. Center stem to dial back on 3135 is 1.75mm. Center stem to dial back on 2824-2 is 1.80mm If I remember correctly, the 2836-2 is 2.25mm and 3035 is 2.20mm or vice versa. 3035 would be a good fit for the V.3 and possibly the WM9.
