I believe J&W remove and engrave custom serials. Something like $300 charge though.
-
Like the one I built! Stilty's 1680 Mine is a custom case with a 1972 serial. I used the serial from the donor 1601 case. If you are looking for a service dial, I would use it with a gen movement. They are expensive and I don't recommend cutting off the feet to fit on an ETA.

1570 vs 1575 is a bit of a moot point. Even 1655 and 1675 have 1570 marked movements, and they are GMT models. And even the 1016 can have a 1570. I have a 1570 in my 1680, originally from a date model 1601. oh yes, they will all be non-quickset. the quick set date feature wasn't introduced until the 3035.

No time for exercise, then focus on your diet. Cut out SUGARS, processed, and refined foods. It is all [censored]. Have an iphone? get the Nutrition Menu and track what you eat. For me, cutting out excess sugar was huge. No more sugar highs and crashes and I feel like I have more consistent energy. Oh yeah, make sure you eat at least 6 times a day to maintain your blood sugar and so that your body does not go into starvation mode, otherwise, your body will store energy as fat rather then burn it. And this is a tough one, but try not to eat or drink, other then water, after 7pm. Eat at 8am, 10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm and 6pm. Six meals a day at 300 calories each = 1800 calories. Stick to that and you will drop some pounds. Add in some exercise and the results will be quicker. To burn 1lb of fat takes about 3500 calories. cut out 500 calories a day = 3500 calories a week or 1lb. try to fit in some exercise where you burn 500 calories a day, you can easily and SAFELY drop 2lbs a week. the first two weeks of adjusting your diet are tough, but once you curb your body of old cravings, it isn't that bad.

are you able to measure the diameter of the crystal? Should be 28.6mm if close to gen.

what a fantastic addition to your collection! I think I need to make my way out for another GTG!

WTF! No Friday Wristies? Here's a value wristie
stilty replied to Justasgood's topic in General Discussion
I wanted to build one, but dial, crystal, and bezel are smaller in diameter then the 16610. Crystal is 28.6mm (if I remember correctly). Dial is under 27mm. I'll have to measure, I have one in the drawer. It might look odd in the sub case. -

Geez, I don't think I have ever posted in here before. Here is a little beauty that does not get very much attention. Figure I should show her some love by posting some pics of some rare wrist time. Have a good weekend everyone! -
Help! Need a Clickspring for an ETA 2834-2
stilty replied to Toadtorrent's topic in General Discussion
i'll check. i have a couple tins of salvage ETA parts. That is one small part! you could check with Perrin in TO, but the shipping will probably cost more then the part -
Anyone buy one? I see he sold a couple on the bay, just wondering if anyone here picked one up. I requested some pics and he sent me pics of a case stamped 16803. And I see this type of case has been around before.... fake 16803 case on VRF

beauty story, eh!

Now I know most of you are probably tired of hearing about the Olympic hockey game, but check out this video. Hockey fan or not, this is pretty cool. Someone set up a camera across False Creek and captured the eruption and sound of Vancouver when Team Canada scored to win gold. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8VMxt-MqTiI ps. just over a minute in and footage from downtown:

Just curious, but doesn't the no-date 1570, 1520, not have the seating ring installed? The dial seats on the main plate? With the Yuki case, yes, the ring would need to be replaced or modified in order to fit the 1570. The OD of the ring is 26.2mm on the 1570 for 1680. Probably easiest to remove the ring, and fit the dial to the ring, then trace around with a marker, or scribe. Then you can file or grind to the mark. You can test fit without reinstalling back on the movement.

Speaking of Gold and Crosby check out this piece done back in the fall when the torch came to Canada.
-
ouch! buyer beware. no mention that the case is genuine or the movement. everything else was listed as genuine.

In light of the injuries, Canada equalized the defence with the US by dressing Pronger. LOL!

Exactly. It is a team sport, and having Sid on the ice created opportunities for others. Same thing when Sundin played for the Canucks. He didn't put up good numbers, but he sure opened up the ice for his line mates. Also, big monkey off Luongo's back. He proved he can win in the big game.

Great series, great finish, and great games overall. Excellent video C, good to see the Canadian spirit in the Bahamas. I like the old Winnipeg t-shirt! Awesome! I was downtown and it was absolutely insane! The weather was perfect, the crowds were perfect, the vibe was perfect! There were so many people on Granville and Robson, it was insane. They closed bus service and bridges into downtown to try and keep a lid on it. And if anyone has been to Vancouver, or knows Vancouver, we were on Granville and looking south to the Granville bridge and it was a sea of red sweaters walking over the bridge into downtown, no cars, or buses, just people. I've never seen anything like it. Unfortunately, I grabbed the camera with a dead battery, so I didn't get a lot of pics or video. But I did get this on my iphone.

Polar is the way to go. I use a decent priced F11. Great for monitoring cardio and maintaining heart rate.

you should run down and make an offer in person with cash in hand. money talks and you could get them at a good price.

Goaltending will win this tournament. Will be quite a showdown between Miller and Kipper. Kipper has been known to steal a game. And the way it is going... could likely be a Canada vs Slovakia.
-
Good predictions for the quarters! And judging by how things have gone yesterday, very hard to make predictions on the outcome today. USA - Switzerland: This can go either way. It depends who is better in net. Miller, or Hiller. Hiller pretty much shut down Canada and it went to a shoot out. Don't count the Swiss out. Finland - Czech Republic: No Jagr and Latvia could have stole it last night, but lost on a weak goal. Tough to call the outcome on this. Sweden - Slovakia: Slovakia has the edge and are pumped up to win, especially after the douche-bag hit last night. My gut tells me Slovakia. Russia - Canada: Both teams pumped. This will be a better game then USA vs Canada. If Luongo can keep it together, advantage Canada. Also, the loss to the USA was a good thing. Better to lose in a game that really doesn't mean anything ( it was not elimination), except for national pride. All the loss did was light a fire for Canada.... so again. advantage Canada. A good day for hockey! We could see: USA vs Finland Slovakia vs Canada USA vs Canada for gold. No medal predictions, but I think Slovakia will surprise everyone

yes! PM sent!

100% agree. Miller was amazing. Still a couple more teams for the US to get through before a medal is in sight though. The tournament is still wide open. And for Canada, I don't have a lot of faith in their goaltending. Brodeur is not at his best, and being from Vancouver, and a Canuck fan, we all know how Luongo chokes in the big games. If Lou gets the call against Germany tomorrow, he better not blow it or there will be rioting in the streets.
