Hi Laz, Sorry to hear this. Can I suggest you PM Ziggy or another expert ? RepAustria might give you his opinion too... Cheers & good luck Stephane

I wouldn't flame u Mademoiselle. Because you are a demoiselle and because you stated you would become VIP asap Alligoat cover it all I think and By-Tor's review too. Get a classic watch part insert and pearl, that is the worst point in your pictures . www.classicwatchparts.com you may have to wait untill they have one available though. Now, if this sub is coming from Josh (which is not obvious at all, there are so many), I would still recommend getting the legendary Noob from TTK. At least you're safe with the dial AND bracelet. Cheers Stephane

Which Member's Taste in Watches do you Admire?
Stephane replied to Victoria's topic in General Discussion
No BT, it was my initial idea but I sold one to Laz(arini)... so, it's not complete anymore. I'll have to go for all vintage now but it's much more exiting I take the opportunity of this "admire"-"taste" thread to say something here. Admire or sharing tastes is something very personal. Share knowledge and welcome new enthousiast members is something else. I would like to say something about 3 members here: By-Tor, Ubi, Pugwash. These 3 gentlemen were very friendly members with me since MY DAY ONE on RWG and helped me become a true enthousiast. Monsieur Euno, when he came back as a very active poster, was a fourth one. Then came a serious number of other very very nice members. Thank you all, including the non-mentionned ones. So, as some of you know, I have been a bit rude with newbies that would not suscribe a VIP membership to support RWG. I must say that the example of the above mentionned gentlemen made me change my mind about this problem. I now reply in a very friendly manner to all inquiries I have regarding "who has the best sub" PMs. Cheers and long life RWG. Stephane -
Congrats on your collection. Beautiful pics aswell. One of the best serie I've seen so far. Cheers Stephane

Which Member's Taste in Watches do you Admire?
Stephane replied to Victoria's topic in General Discussion
Hmmm, Madame V. Hard choice as I see many members with tastes close enough to mine. At the end of the day, don't we compare to our own tastes ? Yes of course. I think Pug is the one having the closest taste to mine. We often have the same new watches. But, I agree, Monsieur Euno is on my list too. Aswell as Pix, By-Tor, Ubi, TTK, Delta,...so many more. In fact, I "admire" collectors that can still see something great in a Rolex but also in the classics (AP RO/Patek Nautillus), some nice Omegas,...have fun with a BlackMonster... Very difficult topic here Cheers Stephane -

Our beloved watches deserve holidays, don't you think so?
Stephane replied to Stephane's topic in The looney bin
Dear All, It's friday july 20th... Deia Pictures Today was a supposed "Trendy" day We went to Deia. It's the village in Palma where some stars have a villa. Of course, we didn't meet any of them, and the village itself is really boaring. So, the trip wasn't really worth the effort of an hour and a half on "mountain" roads. At least, we could take some pictures. There are some BOYS pictures in front of Richard Branson's Hotel, La Residencia My nephew, my son and me Various shots in Deia SD Great White in a Olive tree (not a great picture, but it is funny though). The watch almost fell off the tree but my daughter save it My Daughter's ready for trash Swatch (I really need to get her something for everyday in addition to her B&M Linea) My son's beautiful Seiko My Nephew's Tissot PR50 The Great White ready for war (with a sweet pussy too) Palma City pictures After Deia we went for some shopping in Palma City. Of course I couldn't resist and ask my nephew to shoot some pictures in front of the Rolex local AD. They also had AP, Patek, Panerai, JLC, IWC, Cartier -
eBay should hire you Nanuq to chase this things Thanks for sharing...in case someone here has 9.100$ to spend they should buy 9 modded SD's Cheers Stephane

Stephane replied to Stephane's topic in The looney bin
Oh yeah, we all need holidays Delano: during Midem Miami (a music conference)...we couldn't afford the Delano prices for rooms, my music friends and me in those times. So we were staying at the Ritz Plaza and crossed the street when time had come to see some nice and trendy girls and get some coktails. Seriously, I have a plan to stay in NYC for Xmas and finish by a couple of nights or more in SoBe with my wife "en amoureux". Still I have to convince her to leave the kids in Brussels which is not easy. Today we go to Deia. That is where Michael Douglas has his villa in Palma. I hope to meet Richard Branson who owns a restaurant and hotel. My nephew would like to meet Catherine Zeta Jones. I presume we will not meet any celebrity at all. But, who knows, there might be a great AD to visit with my 1665 ...joking. See you soon, Cheers Stephane -

Yes please! Congratulations on this one BT. Incredible price. If any other member want to sell theirs for that kind of price, pls PM me. I'll take a dozen Splendid photos aswell of course. I love the rehaut and I can imagine the feel on the wrist with the solid mid links. But, damn, the lugholes makes it completely wrong in my opinion. Tribal, do you think these lug holes can be drilled to perfection or is it a dead end ? Cheers Stephane -

Thank you very much guys. Your comment are very much appreciated. Oh, the camera is still the same: a Sony DSC-H2. Damn, why did I get that one instead of spending a couple 100 more and get a reflex I guess I was greedy that day -

Stephane replied to Stephane's topic in The looney bin
Thanks guys. I'll keep you updated. Today will be Black Monster on the beach and my son's Seiko 5. It's 7.50 am and the sun shines... @Arty: wow, you made a great selection for Vegas and a cool couple of shot ! Cheers Stephane -
Dear All, I'm currently on the beach (litteraly), connected with a Vodafone Usb Gsm Modem and wondering what I should have taken with me, watch wise of course. I'm also wanting to share my happiness with you of course. Which watch would YOU take for your summer holidays? No need to say: I regret my choice and my paranoia Customs I was a little afraid a custom officer, in Belgium or Spain, would ask me "Sir, is this a genuine watch?". So, to start with I picked up my Baume et Mercier and put it on my wrist to travel to this island of Spain (where I hope to meet Richard Branson). It is sure that I will not wear it at all during the stay though, but, after months of trying to convince her, my beautiful wife is wearing it All other watches would go in the main luggage, not the cabin one, because of X-ray inspection. Prior to make a selection So I looked at all my watches and thought: - I need one rep for my own pleasure - I need a couple to swim - I should be courageous and pick at least a second rep for my pleasure Now, the problem is Rolex. It's so obvious that it is the most replicated brand that if I travel with several, and the luggage is inspected, I'm in deep sh*t. The selection - The rep for pleasure: Rolex Sea Dweller 1665 Great White modded - The couple to swim with: Seiko Black Monster on rubber & Tissot PRS 516. (Pix, pls get the white one, it's beautifull) - The second rep: Omega Planet Ocean on SS bracelet. So what? Well, I could have taken more and put them all in the luggage. At least there was no inspection when coming in and I can't see why there would be one when coming back. Stupid me. Life is cool For sure, the most important is enjoying the wife & kids on these holidays And rep wise, I have my best Rolex with me and my beloved wife is wearing my Baume & Mercier The Saga I'm not sure this post will be a very interesting one, but I like to share with you guys and girls. So, the idea is to update this thread with new pictures when I can find a reason too while we are on holiday. Cheers Stephane The Pictures Please do not reply quoting the pictures as it would mess the speed of the thread and the forum. Thank you. My daughter's beach shoe and the PRS 516 Ok, Voulez-vous Swim avec moi, today ?

Hey Shim, Well, we all have our own opinions about Rolex in general and subs in particular. If I understand you well, you have a 5k budget and like subs. So, like Shawn says, get yourself a lug holed "modern" SD or even better to my taste, get a GreatWhite 1665 or a 5513. It's not easy to find a GW at 5k, but it can happen. A 5513 is easier though. Shawn, yours looks really great by the way. But I disagree: not everybody is buying a Sub to impress people. The alternative is buy 5 Rolex modded by one of our members Cheers Stephane
