  1. @Mr Primero: Thanks for compliments to MM I have one word though, so I will not comment your comment. @Kruzer00: what ? Unsure it's nicely modded @Laz: Thanks, the owner is more than Happy (Yiiipeee)
  2. Dear All, This is a pictorial and review of my first truly modded Sea Dweller: The Great White Project After some hesitations about which Rolex is the one I prefer, going from DayDates to 16610, 1680, Daytonas and GMTs, it's obvious now: The Sea Dweller. As I am a passionate guy, I started a project which is to have the best possible Sea Dwellers, all 3 of them: Great White, Single Red, Double Red. This is a several months project of course. The base watches Two of them are coming from members, Kelster and Phoband, and one straight from TTK. Number one: The Great White I sent this one some weeks ago to a Mystery Modder (that we'll call DoubleM or MM for the moment) Yes, I know, it's sad not to name the artist but it's his desire to stay anonymous. At least for now…I hope Both of us have been sourcing genuine parts for this one. When everything was ready, the art started. First impression Once I unpacked this watch, I couldn't believe what I saw and touched: a splendid time piece with an incredibly different feeling than all my other Rolex. The first obvious difference to the eye was the Crystal. A Genuine T39 flat! No other crystal I have seen (including Clarks) is looking like this. None. Oh, yes, we choose the flat one for the Great White which is historically correct but we'll have Super Domes for the 2 others (SR/DR). What has been done? MM wanted the watch to feel very authentic as it just left “ye olde watchmakers shoppe”. “This watch is in original condition, not serviced by Rolex, but refinished by a watchmaker so the dial and hands are in 100% original condition". Here is the list dear friends :ltongue: Case highly reworked and smooth like a genuine would be in 2007. Crown Guards shaved by the previous owner. A genuine crown and tube were installed and refinished to match the case. Lugholes drilled. Genuine spingbars fitted. HEV drilled out and dummy valve built and installed. Case back has been redone completely and looks so genuine. Genuine T39 flat installed. CWP insert is installed, aged nicely. Genuine Pearl of course. Bezel turns freely, just like it should be on a 30 year old timepiece. Dial has been aged and repainted. Little fleck close to five o'clock. It is a bit of Tritium that fell off from markers/hand and contaminated the dial – a desired effect MM did by intention. All Tritium on the watch is fixed; nothing can move or fall into the movement. There is some missing Tritium on the hour hand. It's done by intention and this looks gorgeous. Ubi date wheel overlay moves perfect, no resistance. Movement was serviced completely. O-Rings all greased, that goes without saying. Scratches and sign of wear on the bracelet and end links are left by intention too of course. Conclusion Again, this place is amazing and features some fabulous members and great artists. Thank God I found RWG and met MM. Double M, you rock Cheers Stephane The Pictures Please do not reply quoting the pictures as there are 38 and it would mess the speed of the thread and the forum. Thank you. These pictures are done by me, are 100% amateur (no lightning) and are not showing the real beauty of the watch, believe me
  3. That's for sure ! Welcome and stick to the collectors:dealers of RWG.
  4. Seems to be cheap Steelfish en of the week...but could change as a 1665 fully modded and a Fiddy should arrive later today ! I never got a watch as cheap as this one and so much compliments !
  5. I tricked the counter ...I might be soon ahead of you Heu, nope, did not receive it yet ...should arrive soon though. Hopefully !
  6. Introduction Dear All, This is an incredible moment! It's my 1000th post So what? Well when I first registered here, looking at all this valuable information from experts, I was afraid remaining a poor Noob for the rest of my life. I was even more wondering how I could ever contribute and give something back. Six months later I am a rich Noob with all your information, but, I still wish I could give much more back to this place that gave me so much. Virtual? Yes, it is a virtual place. I did not meet any of the nice members in person yet (neither bad members if any). But still, I met some incredible people here who spent time to answer my Noob questions, sell me their watch without even knowing if I was reliable, modified mines prior they even ask for any payment, and so on
  7. Happy Birthday CableGuy Cheers Stephane
  8. @By-Tor: thanks for the compliment on the pictures (I guess it's the grey stone one you like) I will probably like it soon I had lunch with two fellows and they both noticed the watch and fell in love actually. @RepAustria: thanks for clarifying as usual, ask the experts. @Dadog: well this one looks quite a good deal to me indeed (less than a Swatch) @2005Sub: to me too @Joe: I have no idea
  9. Hi Laz, Nope, not as heavy as the UPO but very heavy though. Wearing for around 6 hours now I can assure you I never forget I have a watch on my wrist Cheers Stephane
  10. Dear All, Here is a pictorial of my first deal with Ruby. Introduction I must say that I wasn't very sure I wanted a SFSO and then saw Pix review and comments about getting a cheap one. That is why I went for it. Pix comments thread Pix Mini review About the deal Ruby is very responsive and nice to deal with Besides that she also offer great prices: 139$ for the watch with a SS bracelet and an extra 15 for the leather strap. On top of that, I got a 10$ discount because I do not want EMS but simple registered letter. Of course, it took some time to come all the way from China, but it landed safely. And that is all that matters to me About the watch Do I like it? No, at least not yet I'm wearing it today and I do not feel any exiting vibration from that watch. Maybe it is going to grow on me though. We shall see. I'm nowhere close to a Breitling fan, neither an expert. I am thus not commenting flaws here. There are some probably. I will simply say that the build is great. It's very well finished, heavy on the wrist. The bezel in example turns and clicks perfectly, not too loose not to hard. I opened the watch and yes, it is the suspected Asian 21 J. Surprise though: it is oily…so was it serviced? Or is it the O ring grease? No idea of course For the last 12 hours, it's keeping good time, no worries. Of course, when setting date/time the feeling of the crown is not as smooth as an Eta. But we all know that. AR coating: personally I do not like AR because of the scratches that will affect it on the outside of the crystal. My friend's Gen is looking ugly after only one year of daily use. Also, on Gen Breitling the blue AR is so strong that I really have troubles reading the time in fact. Lume is correct too. One more thing: the date is not as badly aligned as on certain "Ultimate/Perfect-Super" reps. Conclusion After all, maybe this watch is the same build as the Swiss one but with an Asian 21 J and no AR. Who knows? I'm quite happy about my deal with Ruby and hope it will get some wrist time. If not, I have another friend who might like this one and will wear it. Thanks for reading, and now here are the pics. Cheers Stephane
  11. Joyeux anniversaire Andy (Happy Birthday) Wearing a "cheap" SFSO on honey leather strap this morning but still have to shoot it EDIT: here it is
  12. Hi Guys, Just a follow up ! I ordered that watch and it landed safely to me yesterday. I paid 139$ for the watch with the SS bracelet and 15$ extra for a brown leather strap and got a 10$ discount because I do not want EMS. 144$ in total for a watch with a bracelet and a strap ! 105
  13. Congrats Monsieur Euno. Beautifull piece and strap! Cheers Stephane
  14. It's Fitmic day ! I'll wear the Ingy I got from him. Cheers Stephane
  15. Confusion Confusion !!! Tribal and Fred, are the Bodo's crown genuine ? I am saying CROWNS.... Yes the wording is tricky, but yes I would like to know if this is real: genuine (hit 1 on your cellphone) - not genuine (hit 2)... Thanks, Stephane
  16. Hi Mr S... I learn from your post the following: 1. The watch we dealt is still surviving your various experiences :sss: 2. You're friend is looking very sympatic 3. Watch Lovers like beatifull girls too Congrats for the watch, the lake and your special dryer ...it's fabulous background too Cheers Stephane PS: Is the dryer your GF ?
  17. I will allways take advices in these matters. There are so many pictures of gen, or supposed so, with so many differences including dials. Again, even RSC are swapping "bad" parts to replace originals. So, I follow RWG experts opinions like Ubi, Tribal, RepAsutria, Pug, BT...and so many others great members. For sure, on vintage Rolex, the inserts and pearls aren't looking like the MBW right out of the box... Cheers Stephane
  18. Same for me: some support washing hands, some not ! Even so called "waterproofed" by great members became foggy instantly Opened the case back and unlocked the crown...waited for 24 hours and it was dry again. I stay away from water now with all my watches except Seikos, Tissot and Swatch...too risky Cheers Stephane
  19. Thanks TTK. I would prefer to pronounce it that way as I think Moses brother deserves some respect Ok we're set ! Many thanks to all. Cheers Stephane
  20. Well I'm 46 and see no problem with some hair on arms. What they do is make them clearer uselly, not shave...otherwise, after a year their arms will look like a forest. For legs and under arms: must be waxed for sure, as well as what we call bikini= a nice triangle on the puss* instead of a bush. One thing is sure : SILICON FREE boobs 100% and botox free mouth. Cheers Stephane
