  1. Very nice story and happy end. Thanks for sharing indeed. Cheers Stephane
  2. Well, some tips : - I have a Great White, I received your Single Red now and a Double Red is on it's way from TTK. - The Great White is being modded right now. - Yours is travelling tomorrow to our mysterious modder - The DR will travel too soon Yes, you guessed. The trilogy, with all possible mods done including aging of course .
  3. Dear All, Here is a pictorial of my second trade with Phoband. About the deal This time I tried to negotiate the price but, no way, Phoband is a good negotiator So, once we agreed on the price, the watch was send to FlavorFav to align the dial. Then, it was shipped to me and landed safely, although I feared it would be held at customs as I received a letter at the same time the watch was shipped back. About the current mods This Sea Dweller is an MBW and the current mods that were done are a Clark 39 crystal and a Ubi datewheel. Phoband also included a gen crown. (If you have a gen tube, feel free to PM me) Isn't it a very very good start ? What is going to happen next Well, I have a project with these Sea Dwellers, and, currently, the watch is packed again and will travel tomorrow to one of our great members to continue the modding process. Conclusion It's not my first deal with Phoband and once again I'm happy with the deal and do recommend him. Thanks for reading, and now here are the pics. Cheers Stephane
  4. You are so right Monsieur Euno :yucky:
  5. Let's all move to your country It's a rep paradise
  6. This is true and judging a gen or rep by the weight is total bulls*it. How could one notice 2 or 3 grams difference ? Our beloved subs or the gens are looking crappy and cheap anyway. That's why we love them People feel like they must comment our subs and do not know what to say; so they go for "sweeping hand not smooth enough or weight too light"... Make a test with a brand new gen. You'll get the same kind of comments as most people assume it's fake anyway Cheers Stephane
  7. Keep us updated. I read the same comment on a EMS tracking page from Andrew once...it stayed for weeks and then got a letter from customs. This is EU though, not Canada.
  8. Yes, I'm sure it is related to Internet gambling. Admin is right too, I wish I could spend the total limit I have in my MB account now. It's 16k in total ?! I use uploads from my european bank account, it takes a couple of days but is free (0,50
  9. That is exactly what I meant man. Must be my froglish
  10. I'm a Moneybooker Member since a couple of month now. I got the same issue. I saw my CC upload limit increase and it's 1500 now. I also use my bank account btw. I think it's a matter of time. The more you use MoneyBooker the more they trust you.
  11. Yes patina is the way to go for vintage rollies; for sure. It doesn't make sense to have a 30-40 years old watch that is new like a 2007 16610 For currently out models, well some wear signs are fine but deep scratches not. Only my opinion though Cheers Stephane
  12. Well every opinion is respectable. For sure, Baume et Mercier is not what it used to be. If they were still that trendy we would see Super Reps of them That brand is in the Richemont group with some other brands (see here under, it's quite significant ) and it used to be a true manufacture (check the history). It's more an affective purchase as my Dad had Baume et Mercier. The other affective brand for me is Jaeger Le Coultre as my Mum wore a platinium Joaillerie one with diamonds, which should be closer to what Corgi would consider as "Elite" By the way, my sister still has this JLC from the 50ies in perfect state and one of my niece will wear it one day:wub: Shall I buy a JLC ? Yes, for my wife. So, would I buy another Baume ? No. I'll get a 1665 GreatWhite one of these days (if I earn enough money to get both JLC and Rolex as my wife has priority!) But still, Baume et Mercier carry some nice watches at affordable prices (our Hampton were 1.151
  13. send the producers to jail !!! God, whith the money they make, they could borrow a gen, don't you think ? :yucky:
  14. Congratulations...and, yes, I'm never wearing it either At least I have a good reason to keep it now
  15. Oh yes, Happy Father's day to all "papa" here. In our country, it was last week
  16. Dear All, Some months ago I posted a topic looking to sell one the family's Baume et Mercier. As it's very unlikely I could find an amateur here, because I look to recover my spendings, I decide to keep it so that my son will have his Baume et Mercier too when he will turn 18 or so. As I have some pictures, I thought I might aswell post them here Why buy Baume et Mercier My addiction comes from having seen my dad wear two during his life. Both are lost for me though They were full gold, one from the 50ies and one from the 70ies. I guess that is why I looked at Baume et Mercier since I was a teenager. About our family's ones Well, as you can read in this topic, My daughter's Baume & Mercier Linea, my wife and my daughter both have a Linea. Last December, I got my wife a new one, a Hampton Classic white dial on a brown leather strap, that she really loves and wears daily. I hope I will be able to get her the same kind of combo (white dial/brow strap) in the Jaeger le Coultre's Reverso line one day (gen of course ). At the same period, I finally got myself one too. A Hampton Classic Gmt white dial on brown leather strap too. About the Hamptons My wife's Hampton - White Dial - Battery Operated Quartz Movement - Polished Steel Case - Brown Leather Strap - Scratch Resistant Sapphire Crystal - Manufacturer Box & Manual - 30 Meters / 100 Feet Water Resistant - 34mm X 22mm = 1 1/3" X 7/8" Case - 6" Adjustable Strap - Tang Buckle My Hampton: - White Dial - Dual Time GMT Feature - Self Winding Automatic Movement - Polished Steel Case - Brown Leather Strap with Crocodile Pattern - Scratch Resistant Sapphire Crystal - Manufacturer Box & Manual - 50 Meters / 165 Feet Water Resistant - 45mm x 35mm = 1 3/4" X 1 1/3" Case - 7" Adjustable Strap - Deployment Buckle Conclusion Everyone seems to be happy we have these four Baume et Mercier in house, so let's keep them all Thanks for reading, and now here are the pics. Cheers Stephane My wife's Hampton My Hampton
  17. Congrats Nanuq and thanks for sharing beautifull shots once again. @BT Isn't it so that lots of Scandinavians are having a national huge party soon when the sun only sleeps for an hour or so. I went in Sweden, Stocholm, several times but never had the chance to be there around this period of the year... I'd love too. It must be an incredible sensation...Have fun. Cheers Stephane
  18. After cancelling the wrist time of the B&M and wearing the 3717 saturday...today, sunday, I couldn't resist and went back for a Rollie. Edge's 1680 red
  19. Hi All, I know how to do it ! And I am telling you right now how to get an MBW in Bangkok ! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1. Create a nice relationship with TTK 2. Get yourself a plane ticket on Thai Airways. 3. Meet TTK on your arrival (why not in a very nice lounge of the Oriental Hotel for tea time) 4. Go visit Thailand: start with Bangkok (in a cheap hotel, meet some rats, as you should leave the best for later), then go to Chiang Mai and the north, come back to Bangkok by train (incredible experience, not like the orient express at all), then to Pataya (Royal Cliff Beach was top in 1989). Spend some time in Pukhet (the Meridian close to Patong was very nice back in 1989 too), then go to Ko-Samui (Can't remember what the hotel was) and finally back to Bangkok. 5. In Bangkok, 10 days later, stay at the Oriental and meet TTK again: he will bring your watch and get you a beer for free Cheers Stephane
