  2. Hey that is a great GTG indeed !!! You had a great time, one can see that from the pics Not a lot of Rolex though Laz, Tribal, Kelster and I should add some Rolex next time into your photos Can't wait for our "Andy World Gtg"... 3. Ah, that is a good question. I think it's all about taste. Some guys here have a vintage dial, modified, with lume at night, some don't. To me, sorry to say, it is a total non sense to have lume at night on a 30, 40, 50 years old watch. The lume material used in those days should not last that long. If you take a 16800 from 1980 in example with a mate tritium dial it has no lume at all anymore today. So my humble opinion is: vintage => no lume Cheers Stephane
  4. Still wearing this one ...all the way
  5. You talk/write a lot TT! 12K I enjoyed every single of your post Diz Informative, friendly, no controversy...what more can a community ask for?
  6. Your lady must be a gem Ubi. Still looking for a lady who would like my hobby and protect me from going to far
  7. Wow, I imagine this is the low "quote". It should go for 10K complete (with papers and so on). A gen, without papers, is still a gen though! Papers are nice of course, but if you don't have them, you can still have some sort of authentification anyway. I'm so sorry you sold yours for that amount Diz.
  8. Congrats to two gentlemen. This is THE lesson. Handling issues backstage with common sense and fairplay is the way to go. I second that K.
  9. JUST DO IT DIZ How much is a 1680 White going for these days ? I mean a real great example all original (no service parts exchange)!
  10. Diz, never say never again I don't think members are not loving their vintages anymore. It's more about getting some genuines now that they growned up in the watch hobby... Imagine you would suddenly want a 1665 GW! A genuine one with rail dial, all papers, serviced but with no service parts... You would have to sell some franken no? Ok, I have to admit I won't sell my 1665s and 1680s unless I could recover 100% of what I put in them, which is very unlikely to be the case. Even so, I would only have a small part of the price of a GW anyway. I won't ever have the budget for a genuine example of these models and prefer to spread my budget in several "modern"genuines. Same goes for all variations of the no date Subs of course. But, Diz, don't feel sad! We all love vintage Rolex
  11. WM9 sells great watches indeed. It is not the mass production of China. But according to our modder and experts their case are NOT different from MBKs one. So, why pay more? Eurotimez has access to the same watches. Cheers Stephane
  12. Time for a little bump here Andy is away for a week so if you want to join, please feel free to PM me and I'll update our common document... Cheers Stephane
  13. Wow, that is a very usefull topic. Very well done and an amazing second post. Thanks a lot, it is very helpfull for Moon watch lovers. Cheers Stephane
  14. Congrats. A first sub is indeed the start of an infection, watch out Let me predict that it is not going to be your last one!
  15. I had the same: I shipped from EU, it arrived 2 days later in NY Then it took around 3 weeks to be delivered in Manhattan. Unfotrunately, everything can happen, no rules. All my previous shipping to US took 10 days max.
  16. Interresting question. Difficult answer though. I still have around 30 watches allthough I sold a lot shortly after getting them. I wouldn't mind getting rid of the ones I trully never wear. So, I'm more a wearer in this case. But with around 15 Rolex, gens and frankens, I guess I'm a collector too as I can't really wear them all regularly. I notice something though: - some evenings, when at home, I like to wear a watch I usualy never wear outside like the Single Red or a Pam. - I also have periods where I suddenly wear "the unworn ones" during a week or so. I guess I'm a wearor
  17. That is a true beauty Chief. And photos are great too
  18. Congrats on your decision. Franken Rolex are great, specially when vintage, but a genuine isn't bad either Can't wait to see the pics.
  19. One never has enough Subs I know D, I'm totally crazy. Thanks Racer. A serie is a great find indeed, specially with all the goodies and the original invoice and receipt. Thanks MRandazzo. I'm not sure I want to confess which is the next one yet ...but it will start with 16x00 and from 1980
  20. Amusez-vous bien And if you have some time, feel free to have some mussels in Brussels
