  1. I enjoy them for a few years and then move on. Tim
  2. Thank you very much. I think I'll polish it up and give it to my oldest son for Xmas. I gave the younger one the genuine when he graduated from The Citadel in Charleston, SC. One more down, and about 10 to go!
  3. Thanks, I appreciate that. So the band should be tighter to the casing, the dots are too big, and the M doesn't work when compared to a genuine. I will tell you two things I do know about it. It GLOWS in the dark big time. :-) The gold is real, like all the way through, even the bezel. I thought Rolex bezels when clockwise. This one doesn't, but, again, I know very little to nothing about Rolex watches. I had the gold parts tested and was told they were for real. The guy must have spent a good penny on it when he bought it. Hey, it was free and given in appreciation and that's not such a bad thing whether it's a rep or not. Tells good time. Thanks very much for your enlightenment and education. Tim
  4. Thanks. It was a gift from a customer and I was never sure and, of course, I'd never ask. How can you tell it's a rep. What stands out?
  5. Hi, I am NOT a Rolex expert. I've owned a few genuine ones. Last one was a President. Too big, too loud, so I sold it back about 6 to 8 years ago. Anyhow, that's not the point. As I said, I know little to nothing about these. Can anyone determine by my poor photograph skills whether this is a replica or a genuine? I've had it for about ten years. Tim
  6. Sell it. You had fun putting it together, right? Well, good, and you learned something, but, maybe it's time to move on. Mix things up and do something else.
  7. Dude, has the wife given you your "Honey Do" list yet? If not she will and your vow will be out the door. Tomorrow morning start by going to the gas station to buy more gas for the lawn mower. Oh, and have you been told the tomorrow is drap and blinds washing day? Yep, and tomorrow night you get to rehang them all. Just giving you a heads up as to what's really in store for you. BTW, the two things above are just for starters......... Tim
  8. I would never do this. If I did I'd end up putting it on sideways or up side down. I am NOT kidding either!
  9. Balls, great big brass balls is what that guy has. The least he could have done is clear out your name on the photos. Moron. Well, that's like cons from with ebay. P.T. Barnum nailed it over 100 years ago when he said there was a sucker born every minute.
  10. We talked about that and it's amazing you brought the up. He, like me, can't stand any of those gawdy Rolex watches. In fact, on a side note, He told me that when the original designer died He sent him straight to hell. Smart guy, I think.
  11. Talked to Him earlier. Seems to be enjoying Himself in Mexico City. I wished Him well.
  12. That is very nice, but, if they tried to duplicate it they'd end up putting that A7750 in it. All show and no go. How about having "the boys" in Thailand consider making it? Tim
  13. Hmm, I have a Hot Wheels Ferrari on my book shelf in the den, so I get a free pass.
  14. Exactly. The 2892-A2 movement is quality, and there's no way you can compare that type of quality to an Asian 7750 inside an HHB. With the 027/28 Power Reserve you have a watch that will last you a life time, regardless of the price. With the HHB with the A7750 you have a chrono that you dare not activate (been there, done it - sits in my dresser drawer now) and you pay near amount the same money. The HHB is a hot looking watch, and, I'd like to buy one, but, sooner, rather than later, it's still going to be a hot looking watch that sits in a drawer in your bedroom. I never gave much consideration to what you wrote about the 21j movement dying and then replacing it for 20 bucks. Hmmm, you're right! Makes sense. Buy the watch with a spare movement. Sort of like the spare tire we have in our cars. Hahahaha! A plan! Tim
  15. Apparently everyone is satisfied with their 2892-A2's (2893) and 21J movements. Good, I'm pleased about that. However, the guy asked me my opinion and I gave it, end of story. Sorry to have created a fuss. Won't do that again. Mine has the Swiss movement and it is rock solid.
  16. Expensive watch unless you buy it with an Asian movement. I'd advise you not to do that. Tim
  17. Redhead 35 to 45 Bust: 38DD Waist: About 30" give or take Hips: 36 to 40" Full lips Onion [censored] Accommodating and a pleasant personality (that is a true oxymoron with redheads) Maniac in the sheets (never met one that wasn't!)
  18. I agree. I purchased one for my wife at Xmas time and that's now all she wears. She loves the watch. In fact, so much that she stopped wearing her genuine two-tone Rolex. Get the high end version.
  19. Dude, what are you on today? Do your survey, might be hysterical to read the off-the-wall comments. Anti-depressenants? Whoa, how about bellying up to the bar and having a beer, or, two, or, three, or, .......... "We're all nuts?" NO WE'RE NOT, I TELL YOU, WE'RE NOT, WE'RE NOT, WE'RE NOT! Well, at least I'm not, but, perhaps the rest of you are. Tim
  20. Beautiful. Congrats. I doubt it will ever be rep'd. The A7750 is bad enough as it is, can you imagine those guys trying to make that movement out of that POS A7750? No way.
  21. Oh, rats, now you've gone and given me a problem! Where do I find an correct after market crown for this thing! Rats! Tim
  22. Thanks, as yours is. What I am trying to determine here is the problem with the crown. Maybe I'm not seeing something you can see. What is the issue with the crown? Tim
  23. Perhaps I'm just not as discriminating as you are, or, others, but, other than the cyclops I can't find any faults in this watch. Perhaps the font is incorrect, and if it is then I suppose I have to live with that. Of all the reps I have this 027 and a Rolex from long ago (whole other story) are the best of the lot. I shy away from A7750's because they are over taxed for what they are. I have two and they tell accurate time, but, IMO, don't ask them to do much more than time and seconds. Horribly sloppy movements, where this movement in the 027 is dead on rock solid. I didn't mind spending the money on this watch either. Yes, it's expensive, but, we'll be wearing this long after the hot looking HHB with the A7750 movement has been discarded as junk. And, what a shame that is, too. Great engineering on the case, et al, but, in the end they put this POS movement in it. Kind of like owning a 5 Series BMW with a 4 cylinder Opel engine. This is mine. Tim
