Probably yes, since some months ago a 116610 noob v1 was sold on the bay for 6k and hey the v1 was pretty bad..but for me most rolex reps need serious moding. You must know very very much about AP's what I can't claim but I believe AP reps are better otb reps than most rollies..all the newer ceramic versions can be spotted easily by there insert which is way off. But most good reps are compatible with gen parts and that makes it very interesting especially for vintage rollies with its great market for aftermarket parts

Basically a good article for people with no or very few knowledge about rolex. I guess this article prevented many from buying reps sold at gens at the bay or other auction platforms. Nevertheless, it's not a good guide to spot a franken rollie

Definitely worth watching and I can only agree with him. I guess for most of us watches are not to show off in the public but it is much more than that. It is about passion, knowledge, interest, and history. And if we get compliments for our timepieces it is always appreciated Btw: gen gmt, bezel is perfect

tc v6 with gen AR'd crystal and gen insert, simply amazing

Just received a gen AR'd crystal for my tc v6 and immediately changed it. Have a look at the result on your own. In my opinion it makes a huge difference and is an awesome mod. Next thing will be a gen crown but since TC's crown is excellent I am in no hurry. Btw I won't change the bezel assembly since I can't spot a difference between the tc assembly and the one on my gen z-series lv

8 years is a lot of time and you must have contributed so much value to this forum. Taking all your posts together would fill some books I am sure Great to have members like you on board who share their imense knowledge and are ready to patiently help noobs cheers

How could I have missed this one

The case doesn't look to bad but definitely not perfect. Personally I like the rehaut since this is often very bad when it comes to ordinary 16610 reps. The cg's are not very nice but you could shave them a little since they are to fat. If you have the movement fixed, the cg's shaved correctly and probably add a tc v5 bracelet this would look quite nice and definitely worth some additional investment. And hopefully TC soon introduces some new maxi dials since the indices on yours don't look to accurate have fun with the build

21j Vacheron Constantin rep..it is definitely my cheapest watch but also the one which earns the most femal compliments

True words, never say never to a watch. One year ago I didn't look at pam's and AP's at all. Now my pam 111 is one of my favorite watches and I am soon getting an AP safari The SD bp looks like a stunner and I am sure my mate will be very happy with it. With his knowledge I am sure he won't see any flaws Hopefully he's not joining the forum and stay happy with it unmodded
