my Crooked AP diver v3.5 from PureTime
ceejay replied to nimbus88's topic in The Audemars Piguet Area
I wouldn't send that back, looks like it will be cheaper and less hassle to get it fixed locally. IMO -
Unfortunately there has been no significant updates to the Navitimers. They are also getting pretty hard to get hold of because the rep manufacturers have mostly stopped making them I believe. There are a few of us Navi Fan Boys that would love a better version but it looks unlikely at the moment due to the restrictions of the movement (A7750) that is currently used that causes the sunken date wheel problem. If you want a Breitling then look at something other than a Navi.

Looking at my tracking info my latest purchase travelled from China to the UK and on to the local delivery depot in 24hrs. The day it arrived at the local depot I received a text message it would be delivered the same day. Here I am 4 days later still waiting and just checked the tracking and it is on it's way back to the depot as they couldn't find the address. Spoke to them on the phone and confirmed it is the correct address and their rep looked at the address on their sat nav system and told me he can't see the problem? So I will be off to there depot later to pick it up the imbeciles Ohhhh.... DHL

I found a Lorus watch at work a few months ago so I put up a notice to let the owner know it had been found but no one ever claimed it. It was only last week I pulled it out my drawer and started wearing it. It's nice to put a gen on every now and then Enjoy it it, it's a nice looking watch.

If you look at the chewed up screws in the caseback it speaks volumes about the watch, I mean who would spend that sort of money on a watch and take a screwdriver to it and do that? Only someone with a rep.

Just pulled the trigger on a new straight razor
ceejay replied to david.the.marvelous's topic in Style and looks
Lovely stuff! I am a straight razor enthusiast of several years now, I found Dovo razors can be a bit hit & miss. There high end razors like this Bergischer are usually good but some of their basic models suffer with QC issues. Same be said about Thiers Issard razors. The most consistent new razors I have found to be Revisors http://www.revisor-solingen.de/html/rasiermesser.html Enjoy your new razor, looks cracking -
Sorry for the dupe guys, Hike, a car boot sale is where you fill up the boot (trunk) of your car with your old junk and go to a pre arrange place to sell it off.

Just been reading this http://www.tp178.com/jd/uber-comp/artikel_4_1.html When you have some time, read it, go away, try to digest it and then go back and read it again, I had too. Jaw dropping horology. I smiled at the part where an alarm function was put into a 7750 movement

Black Dial Stainless Steel Tag Heuer Carrera Chronograph 43mm
ceejay replied to SSTEEL's topic in The Tag Heuer Area
Beautiful, stunning....jealous! You done real good there, congratulations. Just one question, is there any noticeable external difference in the gen vs rep pushers that you can tell? (i know you didn't fit the gens) Cheers. -
OH NOO!....Mike On A Bike tried to change gears and the old sturmey archer gears predictably slipped and his now got hi's nuts impaled on the top tube...that's gonna hurt in the morning

The G in TAG doesn't have the little arrow on the reps.

Thanks, I am learning everyday Still a long, long way to go! Cheers

Looks like you took the stem retaining screw completely out? If so you will have to remove the hands and dial to re assemble the key works. Only unscrew the stem retainer until the stem is released!

A7750, Black Dial. From Josh. Really love this watch, I tried the gen on just after you posted yours and fell in love. Any chance of letting me know where you are sourcing your gen parts? I am super happy today -

Couldn't resist no more, just ordered one of these Might just stick a few gen parts on mine too Cheers -
Blue screws on the movement. I believe only the aero bang model uses blue screws, also look at them chewed up screws on the back case.

A little tip for all you polishers out there. Try Micromesh abrasive cloth, you can get a selection pack on eBay going from 1500 grit through to 12000 grit it's brilliant stuff, waterproof & hard wearing. from 6000grit upwards you achieve a perfect mirror finish. Not the cheapest but worth every penny! P.S. What a excellent job you done there, in fact I rekon you could have done that case re shape yourself, no?

New Noobfactory Subc to compete with the BP 2013?
ceejay replied to speedy1969's topic in The Rolex Area
Why can these people centre a bloody pearl, surely it cant be that hard? -
I need to be able to spot a gen vs rep Hublot by next weekend and looking at the most recent versions I am a little stumped? Have all the movement issues been addressed, rotor engraving, fine adjuster, font size, centre rotor? Any other glaring differences common to the popular rep models? Cheers

Who does the best rep of this bad boy?
