  1. You could always re-case the movement and dial and make a project out of it
  2. Absolutely fantastic work, really nicely done As above, it needs a story to go with it, it looks like its been to Hell and back (which is how all good vintages should look )

    Dust!

+1 If this is going to be a recurring problem, I suggest learning to de-case the movement and clean the glass for yourself. It might also be worth removing the dial completely, and giving it a single dusting of a varnish spray, so as to hold any lume (if it is lume flaking) to the dial If you keep taking your watch to a watchsmith for such work, it is going to not only get costly very quickly, (unless he is prepared to keep re-doing the work for free) but make you unpopular with the watchsmith, and possibly make them less likely to work on your watches, thinking you are a demanding customer... It's such a simple thing to do, it only takes a few minutes to do
  4. Glad to hear things are looking up for you
  5. Wearing my watch on my right wrist, I've never had this happen. As mentioned above, wearing a destro watch on the left wrist would also solve the problem
  6. Thanks for the advice, amigos, I haven't had time to search for Win7 today, but will get round to it in time Every virus check I have run since eliminating the trojan has reported that the system is clean, the only problem, is the actual system response time is really lagging. Does anyone have a product key for Win7?
  7. Thanks for the advice, guys I had everything saved on 1TB external hard-drive, so no worries about losing data, I just haven't had much luck getting the restore to work, but I'll have a look at windows7 and see what that can do for the situation
  8. Silly me, clicking download on an unknown file, and within seconds, the usual "Your computer is at risk, download Spyware" pop ups... I was surprized that the AVG didn't catch it as a malicious file, but, no worries, I used Superantispyware (program), and that cleared the trojan, but for some reason, I couldn't get online. IE was as much help as a chocolate tea-pot, but Safari at least gave an error message, which I googled, and found the suggestion to try creating a new user account. Did that, and all seemed to be working fine again, so I set about restoring my preferences, and decided to erase the old user account, and that's when things started going wrong... I'd previously been running Vista OS X, but when I tried to re-install it on the new account, I kept being asked if I wanted to uninstall it, but checking on the install/uninstall frame showed the program as not installed (but saved as a download to the desktop) Might this have had something to do with it? The system is slow as molasses, and most programs are 'not responding'. Attempting to restore the system did nothing (if anything, things got worse) so I was wondering if anyone here might have any suggestions... Any places where I could just download a fresh copy of vista I could download to another PC and then upload to this one? Any other superduper anti-spyware worth running (although every scan says that there are no harmful files on the computer) (or any similar ideas?) I'm going to call it a night, having spent nearly 24 hours on the problem... Thanks in advance, amigos
  9. That's a fine build Awesome use on the DSSD clasp, I have plans to do the same thing on a project build If you were to put the watch on a black NATO strap, it would look just like one of the military Tudor Subs I've seen reference photos of
  10. Always glad if it helps someone I admit, A21js are probably more a case of 'replace and chuck' rather than having serviced (cost efficiency) but I really have had no cause to complain for their performance out of the box It's only when I start tinkering that things went wrong
  11. I know what you mean, it's a totally awesome movie I started watching it on the plane to Tokyo, but never finished it before landing, so re-watched it coming home, and was totally blown away by it. Glad you like the banner
  12. It was a young/old Benjamin Button. As I explained to Lani, not only one of my favorite movies, but also something which I felt conveyed your humor perfectly
  13. I had thought that you were going to 'hand out' the banners, but consider it done
  14. Happy to be of help, brother, and consider it done Of course, congratulations to all the winners Enjoy the banners, muchachos

    Traveling

I found Japan pretty affordable. Train tickets were about the same as in the UK, but you get a designated seat, so there's no jostling for seats. It's expensive to go out drinking, but, there are loads of vending machines and convenience stores, so food is easily and cheaply available If you were to stay at a capsule hotel, you could cut down on accomodation expenses and have more cash for other things
  16. It sounds like you've done it just right
  17. Fantasy of otherwise, that's a fine watch
  18. I'm always grateful for whatever comes my way
  19. I guess it's like that old phrase, hate the player, not the game I don't think I could wear a DSSD, but it's definitely been interesting to see the evolution of the reps
