5513 is certainly the pinnacle of simplicity for Submariner perfection, but I must offer the 9401 as an alternative contender for the title. Same simplicity of design and aesthetics, but with the improved visibility of the snowflake dial and hands Plus, it doesn't say Rolex on the dial

I know, but the 2nd gen Nano was the closest in appearance to the original prop I wanted to try and recreate the look of the original prop, but with something functional and wearable inside, rather than just a light up toy

I think that straps at either end of the cuff would provide the proper support, but I wanted to get it as close to the original prop as possible, but with the functional iPod But absolutely, it was definitely good experience

Yeah, I think the pleather is definitely the issue with the heat, but the weight of the iPod is too much for the single strap, so it's not really a practical wearer (even if it did have the cover flap in place to protect everything) but it was a fun project to do That Daytona and bund is a sweet combo, bro

Thanks, bro It's a custom iPod holder based on a 51st Century vortex manipulator. I wanted it made in leather, but couldn't afford it, so wound up making it from pleather... The pleather is hot and uncomfortable to wear, and the weight pulls it down onto the back of my hand (two straps would be more effective, but I wanted to keep it as close to the original prop as possible ) so it just sits on top of my speaker dock with the aux cable plugged in

Not quite a watch strap, and only pleather, but this is my attempt at a wrist-strap Still needs a covering flap, but as it's actually quite uncomfortable to wear, I've been in no hurry to do that

Not an issue, just a case of clipping the feet and use dial dots...

If you can track down a 79090 dial, then it'll be an easy conversion

My .2c... Sell any un-needed movements and handsets to buy a new rep GMT with ETA movement and build around the movement Not ideal if you really want a gen heart in your watch, but it would be one way around the issue of the hands and movement fitting correctly
