It started out as a standard Seamaster chrono. Soon after I bought it it (I!) striped the crown/tube. I sent it to @SSTEEL in Finland who repainted the chrono hands to red including the chrono second hand and removed the paint from the clock hands to make them ‘stainless’. A black date wheel was fitted and a 2xAR crystal. If I remember correctly he also serviced or replaced the movement. I then fitted a ceramic bezel insert sourced from ebay. A fine gentleman from next door supplied the rubber strap 😬
Locking this thread. @BenC you’ve had your say now it stops here. As it stands @SSTEEL has done good work on the forum here. If people want to carry on with the witch hunt it will not happen here. By all means go next door and continue.
I’m UK based and could give it a go. I expect it to be a 30 second job to remove the marker. This is my tool kit. All risks on you though. Alternatively, contact @SSTEEL as @Legend has already said. I use him myself after my attempts at fixing.
QC photos are for you to establish whether the correct watch is being sent to you and for you to ensure that there is no obvious damage, ie hands fallen off, cracked crystal. They are not for posting on the forum to get a general consensus if the watch is acceptable or not. If you have concerns then ask your TD for more photos from other angles or even for another watch if you feel things are too bad.
