  1. Happy birthday AJ, I'm assured that the photo is a good likeness!
  2. I know that there have been some issues recently, but I thought they'd fixed them. Can anyone access the site?
  3. Sometimes people get it wrong - including the staff here - we're only human (most of us anyway) after all. Sorry to hear you were on the wrong end of it. I think you'll find that he had many people fooled. Comeback and spend sometime, rejoin our little comunity. You've got knowledge to add here.
  4. Being British ........ ....... this is a super bowl. Just look at the superb craftsmanship in stainless steel.
  5. All TD's can get the same reps, both good ones and bad ones. Whilst we all want the unicorn 1:1 AAA+ rep, sadly it does not exist.Period. Now there are some builders like TC and BK who build subs for example that are very very close to to 1:1. However these will use an ETA style (copy) movement so once the back is popped off: game over. Noob make some nice ceramic subs that will fool all but a real buff. You pays your money and takes your choice!
  6. Never heard of them. Sorry. Have you any more information regarding them, country, web only etc?
  7. Seems nice and quick boss. Definitely faster than before. Keep up the good work.
  8. This is the closest I've gotten to my grail. A modded Seamaster Pro. This was built by our very own SSTEEL.

I've managed to get hold of another company. They are happy to do individual parts such as a bezel or even a whole (disassembled) watch. Cost from €130 for small parts to around €600 for a whole watch. Not cheap but it would be a bespoke watch.

    No response from them yet.
  11. The dealer won't check. When you receive the watch you can (carefully!) remove the insert and measure it. Then search eBay etc for a ceramic one in the same size. Your watch will no longer be close to gen spec though if you have a ceramic insert in an older style watch.
  12. The ceramic insert may or may not fit. Even if it is interchangeable on gen models these are reps and nothing is certain in the rep world. The easiest way is to ask your TD to source a second bezel insert for the watch you've bought. At least that way it will be period correct. Alternatively, Ebay is a good place for bezel inserts.
  13. Used both my iPhone and iPad to sign in and out over several hours. All seems ok so far.

Cheers Micky. Email sent to them, lets see if they can help.
  15. And I thought I'd pushed the wrong button in the mod area. You know, the big red one labelled 'do not push'!
  16. A 21 year old Seiko. This was once my pride and joy. It cost £250 back in 1996! It still keeps great time and has never had a fault - as is generally expected of both Quartz and Seiko.

Where can I get some parts PVD coated? I'm in the UK but can post worldwide. Just a few small items really like bezels. Anyone done this already?
  18. Returning to China is full of risks and takes time. I'd suggest contacting a European watchsmith where there is less chance of it going missing. I've had good results with SSTEEL who's a Brit based in the EU. @SSTEEL
  19. I'd say 'fake' watches are the cheap crap that you buy whilst holidaying in certain parts of the world. Ones which get thrown in the draw when you get home. Many people here build their own watches. Ones which are near identical to the gen version. For them, it's as much about the journey of gathering knowledge, parts and experience as it is the destination of the finished product. In essence: whatever floats your boat.
  20. You're not THAT old....... .... the rest we'll have to agree with!
  21. lol, yes, soon they'll be releasing reps before the gens!
  22. I've the same problem. When I check afterwards it says 'upload failed'.
