As Sogeha said. Some dealers will ship from inside the EU so customs is easier, some will accept Paypal some won't etc etc. All can get the same watch though. Choose the TD whom best serves your needs.

Any of my reps that have crapped out have done so whilst sat in the watch box. If I'm using them they seem to keep ticking fortunately. None of them get babied, that's why I have reps. The thought of mountain biking in a $4k gen scares me!

Some TD's may use triangle shipping, via the UK so that reduces the risk too.

RWG provides a wealth of knowledge and advice. Beyond that it's a friendly forum where some great people hang out. For me getting to know some great people and make friends here is worth the fee alone. What's $5 a month - a cup of coffee a week - or in the U.K. about one posh cup a month!

I have a 'new' Seamaster chrono bought from a boutique about 4 years ago. I have probably worn it 6 times! Whilst I almost live in its rep siblings. To me, I want to keep the gen nice and fresh but reps are just a bit of fun - even my Ssteel built frankens get plenty of use and are never babied.
