  1. Hi Archierocks, respect for Your attitude moving on in style and posting this as well. Fine forum here too for being able to post and not getting flamed immediately. For my part can´t hear the "go buy a gen" excuse any more when it comes to really bad misalignments and broken new movements on $400 and $500 reps. With the upfront payment the bigger TD´s really simply don´t care, probably always enough newcomers around. In my opinion it´s a healthy attitude to inform them how much business they lost for the future and possibly the only attitude a buyer can have until the message goes through to the factories. When it comes to flashlights produced in China the cheap stuff reminds me a lot of (bad) rep-assembly while the expensive ones are flawless and top-notch. Fine threading, micro-aligned Cree LED´s, perfectly working and smooth magnetic control rings and switches, well oiled O-rings and waterproofness and the main issue: out of 10, 8 are perfect and 2 are very good, none is crappy or doesn´t work on arrival. QC-issues = 0. Some are copied designs. So it´s more than possible.
  2. The Myota has the best movement and deco on the movement as well not only the rotor, has 3 screws in the center of the rotor (just looks good) and it´s the thinnest (also good. Best logo as well - unfortunately either the markers at 12 are not parallel or the logo is off center or twisted somehow in too many samples. As the diver is black I would really consider the blue one (white too pale but doable, silver too blingy, black too black together with the diver). earlier model: Ryan´s BP version when You still got Swiss ETA´s (its 1 mm thicker)
  3. Hi and welcome, there are several versions of the 5711, the best being the one with the Sellita movement. Did You ask Toro? http://www.torobravos2014.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=102_188&product_id=787
  4. From pictures and reviews alone You will never be sure it is exactly the watch You wanted to spend Your money on. Often deception follows. Reps are a good way to find out if Your grail is indeed Your grail. Vintage gens are irreplaceable. Expensive gens over 10k take away the freedom to use it (afraid of scratching it/ wetting it/ loosing it etc.)so they sit a safe. In the long run those reps You use the most (over Years) and keep using may christalyse into the gens You really want.
  5. Incredible how just a payment system can run down a business that much. Alternatives are needed. Wishing the best for Your future business development.
  6. Hi, looks of the V3 are gorgeous. Only problem I´m aware (apart the overpriced decorated no-parts available movement) is to really get a V3 and not a mixed up V2, correct rehaut engravings and centered pearl. That´s it. Think over time this will be much better. On the forums I have seen 2 unmodded "perfect" V3´s until now (that´s not a lot)
  7. Hi, posting to China is inefficient and expensive. Posting to EU often is inefficient to. So, this is no wonder Samples: Tracked shipping with Us priority mail from US to EU: took 6 weeks Standard EMS package from China (not watches): 4-6 weeks UK to southern EU Royal Mail: 10 years ago: 4 days, in 2014: 12-16 days DHL from Singapore to southern EU: 2-4 days Hongkong Post to southern EU: 5-7 days from EU back to Hong-kong: 4-6 weeks This has all to do with logistics and how subcontracted shippers work today on partial routes; Don´t loose hope, maybe meanwhile get something nice to cheer You up, sincerely it´s the best way to get Your mind of that package; and change the TD, try one of the individuals like Supermirrors, Torobravos instead of the big guys
  8. Hi, thought these were push-in and not glued. Would try to center that pearl while it´s off or get another insert if available. Both shouldn´t happen on a shipped $350 watch. Will stay happy with my V1. Easy to wear with any cloth and anywhere, just love the vintage looks with the gilt dial.
  9. Hi and welcome. For reference: Gen U1; lume is not special on the U1, the AR is, lume is rather weak Only thing I can say about the U1 is don´t get it with the Asian 21j because the seconds hand is too heavy, has to be an Asian ETA clone. I´m more for the U2 with GMT function, the U2 may be with the cheaper movement as well.
  10. Hi and welcome, ..............are You Arnold? Have You ever seen or tried a 50mm watch? That´s huge man! Be careful and do Your research first, not all are good but it´s a lot of money. Get the Santos standard or chrono and good luck. its just 1 line above Your thread: http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/121603-cartier-santos-100/
  11. Hi and welcome, generally You are already looking in the right direction. When available buy the Asian eta instead of swiss (a bit cheaper) and the latest version and You´re good to go for the first one, get that Rolex. While waiting for it You have some time to do more research. Have fun.
  12. Hi and welcome. Hoping to see some rep vs. gen comparison pics, come time. have fun
  13. Hi and welcome to the forum. Have fun reading all the available information
  14. It´s endlessly better than nothing to get You started. If lucky You will find add-ons in household equipment. Missing some wooden toothpicks, a simple lupe, Nato-strap in 20mm and 22mm (to just start using the watch if there is no time for the bracelet).
  15. Seems You (always never) get what You pay for on the 1st batch. Have seen only 2 genuinely complete V3´s on the forums, all others were mix-ups or had visual issues (uncentered rehaut/ or pearl) or V2 bezel etc.
  16. TC Sub, BP Seadweller, Noob Ceramic V3, 16570 Explorer II white, Noob Explorer V2 black, 2008 Daytona, 5512, Project X Heritage, Noob DSSD, double-red SD have to stop now:)
  17. That Logjust looked great before the fire-attack..... leave out fire next-time and double-test with the Landrover:) (more of these!) The Puppy did it - really lovely one:)
  18. Stunning and beautiful. Thanks for posting. Fantastic sense of space...
  19. still using the 16570 a lot and will continue to do so, it´s a bit thinner, shows CONUS time and flies well under the radar.
  20. On a budget maybe something like this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Camel-Active-Mens-Leather-Brown/dp/B002V920AG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1401767466&sr=8-1&keywords=camel+active+leather+belt Otherwise You´re lucky if living in Conus for a huge selection of vintage and leather belts
  21. Just looks like You are having a lot of fun out there with the bronzos:) Now for something different... if You leave it for enough time it will get like these: below the IWC Cousteau are 3 bronze coins, all the same, the center one is cleaned, left and right left with the naturally aged patina:)
  22. Congrats, wear it well. Don´t see those too often.
