Fine TC´s You have there CD, need a black one as well:). Here´s mine, KH-Dial, Yachtmaster red seconds-hand, inverted Datewheel, no lupe, silicon-greased and waterproofed:
The crackeled sft-bomberjacket Martinj referred is well worth it´s price and more - took 7 weeks to get to me in EU (!), using it since arrival and goes well with the watch*s character
Like it and these are fantastic watches, had been looking into the SARB033 and I do like the Geographer as well.
This blue one really shines in different angles. Congrats.
Chanel J12 in 38mm is quite something, another vote for the Omega Ladymatic rg (difficult to get) and the Cartier Ballon Bleu. There are some others around like the Tag Lady Cockpit, Ladies Pasha Cartier or the Rolex Yachtmaster unisex/girlsize.
Hi, imo sort out the parts You want and where to get them but really wait until You get it before ordering some. It looks that good You might not need/want anything else.
Wearing the V1 all the time, hands and dots have a nice creamy white look, lume-colour is strong and uniform and it fits very well all kinds of situations. V2 may have an improved pearl but the miss-match on the hands is awful at day and worse at night. The blue V2 looks fine and uniform in this regard with the fixed pearl issue if there was one. Can´t make it out with the naked eye anyway and its perfectly centered unlike 100´s of Rolexes -now that You can make out immediately.
V1 pearl and glass
and from an arms length distance
Lol-the first is a dual time with temperature gauge and compass - a real heavy duty watch.
Couldn´t be happier with my super-cheapos from Amazon which came in nice cases i´m keeping for glasses/handy and watches. This was to try out the U-boat sizes, it´s a 51mm, definitely my limit is 47mm so no U-boats and no Egi´s, it was worth the try, it´s windable/automatic and surprisingly all functions work automatically as well - like a charm:
next was the "black pam test"
and this one actually worked quite well 4me so I knew what to get - in 44mm size
My southern EU AD quoted me between €500 to more like €600 for a perfectly running 2002 Seamaster plus cost of new bezel insert plus whatever was found in Switzerland. (Send in watch for service, estimated turnaround time 3-4 months). This was about 1,5 Years ago. For my part I don´t want a new bezelring and don´t want it polished either, like the looks as is, so I let it be for now.
General question: doesn´t servicing it with a non-AD decrease the value in the long term (20-40 years)?
Just asking because buyers want a Rolex "with that vintage look" and the recommendation always is "only buy it if it was recently serviced by a Rolex AD" which seems somehow contra-sensual
Hi, used the PVD Piccard DSSD on PVD bracelet quite roughly and it doesn´t have a scratch. This holds much better than polished SS or gold-plating with those I´m always much, really much more careful. PVD is well done and fine. Also found that black Rolexes fly much easier under the radar. People just don´t expect it - goes as "another black watch". Yours looks sharp with that nice blue.
