  1. As long as its possible to get the manual winding, 30m water-resistant, unworn non-chrono-gen with box and papers from a trusted seller (jeweller) on Chrono24 for 607 Usd it´s not worth going rep., these might have the looks but never the quality of this original, here You go: http://www.chrono24.com/en/junghans/max-bill--id2671660.htm
  2. Hi, nice wolf, still want one of those. I use them (going to buy the metal one someday too): http://www.strappedfortime.com/shop/item.aspx/hadley-roma-stainless-steel-breitling-pilot-watch-band/107/ them: http://www.watch-band-center.com/shop2/index.php?user=watchstrap&hkat=357&skat=360&so=3 something like this is inexpensive and great: http://www.watch-band-center.com/watchstrap-p18287h357s360-Watch-strap-Nairobi-.html they have others which are more for comfort. Changes the look a lot:) and do like Bradystraps a lot because they come with the inbuilt toolless lug release system.
  3. At least You ain´t broke with that. Btw what´s the lupe for on this one? lol
  4. These Abtono - watches with a clear simple design really have something and look good on leather as well mesh. Lume looks great, bezel too. Wear them well:) Anyway think I´ll stick to classic rollies or Bp before all gets totaaaaly out of control.....
  5. Hi and welcome, looking forward to some nice pictures
  6. Was not estimating import cost, OP either gets his package or it is lost to customs because it´s not authorized goods. to my little southern country every single little package - disregarding of content, is thoroughly checked on weight and scanned for content. Small, underdeveloped countries always have the newest technique when modernizing... Nothing with a value over 40 usd goes through without paying customs, official limit is 28. And in some countries (not in the bigger ones) there is indeed that many staff. EU had border frontiers and thorough controls between member states since AD 1143 (!) until not soooo long ago. Where should all these tax-payer paid border officers be working now? Exactly - they check packages.
  7. They grow on You with time or after You get the first one. There´s something about the calmness of the small secs at 9 no other watch has, lume is fantastic. You have to push a lever to access the crown! What a playful fun. Sooner or later You just need a sausage and a sandwich dial and than there is all the strap magic:). They are better made than other reps. Try out one of Your liking and decide, definitely worth it.
  8. Hi Fraggle, don´t understand what You mean - You don´t have this issue in the UK, don´t pay extra shipping cost so UK members should not reflect that in m2m sales, easy. The other EU countries cannot order from direct shipping dealers to start with (Hont and others) and are not so well off having to pay the extra and with 24 days waiting time on top, last package was 5 weeks waiting. That You don´t have in m2m either. The op risked and was lucky but is now prob taking a hit of 400 to 600 usd (if it´s 2 watches) plus the trouble, end result is the same.
  9. Packages travelling within the 28 member states of the EU normally are fine to go. Those coming in from abroad are subject to detailed scrutiny and customs control (value/ legality). Tax is levied on contents plus shipping costs, about 30% if from China and up to 50% if from the U.S. (never understood why there is a difference), VAT alone accounts for some 17% to 25% plus handling charges and 3 to 8 weeks extra handling time. Shipping via UK is safe and accounts for some 50 -70 USD shipping cost depending on the TD. (just look at the cost if You buy 20 of them over time...) This is/should be reflected in m2m sales too if the rep is in EU. Direct shipping is very risky, can´t figure how 12 made it through. Fr/Ger/It amongst some others are specially risky, not only because of loss or cost but legal issues.
  10. It´s the nice thing with these reps, You don´t have to constantly worry to scratch or break them. Breitling Superocean Steelfish and Abyss are highly recommended, good prices at Toro too. Recommending these because they are really good, not all other models are the same or available. For more complicated chronographs and navitimers wait a little until after Your first purchases and some more reading. Take a look:
  11. Congrats on this beauty. This is the best otb Navitimer I´ve seen including datewheel recessment and font. As the lume is good as well have to rethink if I shouldn´t get one of these sooner or later, it´s the one Navitimer design I like best. Wear it well
  12. Would look good for a change but not for wearing it always. Have made my best experiences with the tool-less Brady straps system, sailcloth or croc-look with red stitching looks good and these come for just about 40 usd shipped.
  13. Hi, that´s a nice one, just got mine - 42mm - this week (shipped 15th Feb. to EU)
  14. Hi and welcome to the forum. If You click on Forum upper left corner, than scroll down to the middle You start finding the trusted dealers, may well go down to T. There are some very nice IWC´s to be found but not all of them are excellent. You will want to read on every watch You choose to buy first. Good ones will easily cost 300 to 400 usd. Other ones are cheaper, but not so good. The da Vinci - in replicas - is not a very good one....it has a cheap 21 jewels movement, if You want to make a test buy You can try it, but expect a much higher quality of the more expensive ones. Interesting reason why You want to buy them. I hope You will stay on the forum and sometime compare the gens with the replicas, that is always interesting for us. IWC da Vinci replica
  15. Hi, no expert at all, just relating visual observation/personal thoughts. Have 2813´s that to me look exactly the same like Asian ETA and 2813 that "stutter" more/a lot. Think that some of these movements are so "weak" they barely have the power to push the second hand if it´s larger, longer, thicker, heavier and that´s why on some it stutters so visibly. The other point is the shorter the second hand is (like on PAMs and some Chronos) the smoother it looks.
  16. Hi, so here it goes because just posted similar in another thread: going swiss in China really not worth the while, You don´t know what You get exactly ("reclaimed" swiss maybe) or if You get it at all (instead of "swiss" You get the same Asian as when buying Asian in the first place) ; Asian ETA is fine, even better, because normally it´s brand new and it´s what You pay for. Asian 2813: imho really a good choice because You get it for 168$ instead of 268$ which allows You to buy 2 of those. Case-sets identical although You have to take a better look at qc for the 2813 ones. There is the tiniest, tiniest difference in the seconds sweeping - it´s so hard to tell You - almost - don´t notice. Difference to the Asian ETA is the swinging of the rotor but you get used to it so it doesn´t swing in a silent room when You don´t want it to. Timekeeping may be spot-on or up to 1 minute deviation per day. Workhorse movement, reliability is fine. No need to service, should it break You get a new one for +- 30 usd. The overall quality feel with the Asian ETA is better, timekeeping not necessarily.
  17. Hi, so it´s double-fun time again - good times:) My take on this as follows: going swiss really not worth the while, You don´t know what You get exactly or if You get it at all; Asian ETA is fine, even better, because normally it´s brand new and it´s what You pay for. Asian 2813 from Trusty: imho really a good choice because You get it for 168$ instead of 268$ which allows You to buy 2 of those. Case-sets identical in all 3 although You have to take a better look at qc for the 2813 ones. I hear purists screaming:) and there is the tiniest, tiniest difference in the seconds sweeping - it´s so hard to tell You don´t even notice. Difference to the Asian ETA is the swinging of the rotor but you get used to it so it doesn´t swing in a silent room when You don´t want it to. Timekeeping may be spot-on or up to 1 minute deviation per day. Workhorse movement, reliability is fine. Rolsub 090a is a nice choice and it´s got a very good dial, this 16600 classic Seadweller http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_8&products_id=10934 for 188$ even has a highbeat movement and is stated as "factory-waterproofed" which is a good starting point to wp it. Superlume is super, imho get both or the SD + the Batman GMT:)
  18. Hi Del Boy, welcome and se You around.
  19. Really sorry for John Mayer as he seems to be a nice, honest and simple guy who just happens to have earned a lot of money with his self-wrote songs and loves watches. Have reviewed that Hodinkee-vid quite a few times in the past because it´s so nicely done with a serious enthusiasm in an unpretentious manner - and nice watches of course. The most stunning for me was that even being into watches a lot more than the regular guy, owning a lot of them and photographing them too, he still thought they were the genuine article. Just shows You can pull off any watch, just have to think it´s a gen.
  20. Hi, at least it was the quartz model, not too much damage done. Might use that one for training to relume a dial someday. With all the info on this forum and on Youtube luckily managed to be able to fix things like that without breaking anything. Took nerves and lots of reading nevertheless, main part was getting the tools together from available househeld equipments instead of investing in all expensive specialized tools, have it well sorted out by now:) I like that watch - a lot, but didn´t want to invest in the expensive one yet, maybe you do some kind of a compare when you get it. This is my recent quartz from Toro:
  21. That´s one-two fantastic projects You have going on. Looking forward to the finished classic beauty. Interesting pic with the parts You´ve sorted. May You have it perfectly assembled in a blink of an eye.Thx for sharing.
