  1. Hi, good decision imho, grow Your business and expand with all benefits/risks envolved or specialize - specialize - specialize - in 20 yrs from now You´ll be one of the few wanted men in Your area.
  2. Just had been looking into the Ancon and reading about the Olivier yesterday too... Than found this Retrowerk for EUR 269,- with the Myota and 205,- in Quartz but it seems its just bronze plated SS http://www.watchstore24.de/product_info.php?products_id=832 Technical data: •Case Diameter: 44 mm (excluding crown) •Thickness: 18 mm •Case Back: Screwed •Strap: Water-repellent Genuine Leather •Water Resistant: 20ATM (200m) •Special-Features: Screw Crown Cover with Pre-tensioned Telescopic Lever system Lever, Luminous Dail (Night glowing) •Case: Stainless Steel 316L – Worn Steel Finishing •Glass: Hardened Mineral Crystal •Calibre: Miyota 8215 - Automatic Still wondering if I could like this.....
  3. could get Gen Black Bay or Breit SOH for 7-8 hundred more, they are more well known better resale I would imagine. Definitely this:) or saving up for the Italo Fontana U-Boat U-51 Chimera Bronze if there is a well priced 2nd hand one floating around, perfect for larger wrists
  4. Hi, there is only one model (almost identical) of this watch worth going for: the "crazy hours" it´s the same but the hours are positioned randomly and the hour hand "jumps" to the correct time - great gag, can´t post pics but the rep works as the gen. The other FM model I would go for is the Casablanca Chrono.
  5. Never heard about shipping problems to the US, just to the EU when direct, the TD´s know how to do it. There´s one TD over on RWI - WBK ships from US. Abyss is a great choice or get them both.
  6. It´s a whitegold Cartier and it says so on the X marker. In SS this will be lighter than the gen. Gen-name would help to compare it (how thick is the gen?), otherwise everything seems ok what regards the rep. New strap is a must imho also. Like the round shape and the looks of the caseback.
  7. Somewhere nearby in the Ocean... : these are alive too and say hello
  8. Hi and welcome to rwgforum. Unending quality information here - and nice reviews and pictures. Hope to see Yours soon too:)
  9. Hi, the Amazon "Watch repair tool kit" for about 20 usd is a complete basic setup with the plastic blue pin removal tool, plastic tweezers some screwdrivers, 4x lupe caseback removal tool adjustable etc. I got this for a basic and for my needs its perfect. The specialized items You may get them on one to one basis. Toothpics are essential, some nyogel or o-ring greasing kit too.
  10. From reading and questioning the same I got this: The Asian 2813 basic movement used in this comes directly with the GMT function. It works well long-time and it is perfectly reliable. It´s built as a genuine GMT movement from factory. (Have not verified this, I´m a layman it´s what I read). Asked about and owners with several said fine to go and they will buy it again. The other one to go for is the Asian ETA, from what I understood this movement is adapted to the GMT function. I have one of these the 16570 Explorer II Polar, it keeps good time and the GMT works 100%. Can´t wind this (unlike other Asian Eta´s) because I directly hit the setting GMT function when unscrewing the crown. Don´t bother because it´s got a good power reserve and on crocoband it´s one of my most comfortable and preferred watches, use it a lot, works fine just don't like to set the time on it, it´s work as it doesn´t move easy. My next GMT-purchase will be with the 2813 movement. As for the swiss - from what I read - it´s a used swiss movement which has been adapted to GMT so problems may arise - and it´s the most expensive so I will avoid this for the time being. Maybe You read some more along these lines. Please report Your results/decision etc. too.
  11. Hi, never been into diamond Rolexes but I have to say with the pearl-coloured bright dial this actually looks very good. With the bezelring, it could just be some play and once it gets used and starts turning well it might adjust itself. It´s one of the fastest and most efficient ways to stop time like: meet You in 35 minutes. The pearl itself is very well centered and it´s a nice one. Would be interesting to see how this looks at night with lume just on the hands if it´s strong should light up the rest. Like this.
  12. Somehow common sense must prevail so I avoid using 4 or 5 different $30.000 watches in places I go regularly. In my opinion it´s also no outright correct attitude yelling out in everybodies face: yeah, it´s a rep, look it´s a fake - if so I expect the other part to be somehow knowledgeable about it or well into watches, than enter an animated debate. Where I live Rolex and Omega, Breitling and Tag are easily recognized all the rest just falls under the "watch" "big watch" "black watch" "nice watch" category.
  13. Thanks for sharing the news, did not hear this otherwise. Anyway not a wartime szenario yet - must´ve been thrilling - and one step closer to promotion/honourable mention etc. Hope common sense prevails on all sides.
  14. Hi if You are EU shipping is via UK from US, fine. The TC V6 - if available right now - just may take 2-3 months, if You get it after 6 weeks fine, if not You know there is some waiting time before the enjoyment. TC works almost alone, has to get the parts, improve things etc., takes some time. In my opinion get the $188 Seadweller from Trusty Time, than if You want order the TC (it´s an American assembly with quality parts, good and expensive and with the classic look, very nice to have it but not everybody needs it - there are other brands too).
  15. Hi, contact SSteel should be fine. Should be possible to drop in TC´s clone movement he sells it separate for $125 I think. If that works (or something else) would be great to know, also have the Steelfish.
  16. Great suggestion above, if You like Breitling there is the Superocean Steelfish and even better the Superocean Abyss 42mm and more expensive the 44mm, great quality for the money, about $210/$260 either from the same site above or from Torobravos.
  17. You really should offer Your friend an alternative and talk him out of that. He can spend half on BK and get some quality at least.
  18. Would have though Big Ben instantly, but it´s just a microwatch compared to.......
  19. Hi, most important for DE is ship via UK only option. "Best" is a relative term because it has to consider either the looks or the quality and it does not consider price/value relationship. My recommendation would be the BP Submariner Ceramic (for comfort because of the glidelock bracelet) and its the one You posted with the Asian ETA for +- 268 usd from Trusty or p-cls.com. Best looking caseset and dial and I prefer true Asian ETA over rebuilt/used or fake "Swiss ETA" in Asian watches. More believable and gen-looking is the classic 16600 BP Seadweller. For much more +-468 You get the better looking Noob V3 - that is IF You get a REAL noob V3. It´s too expensive for a decorated movement with reliability (and replacement) problems. This price is too near to TC to not go for TC quality directly (could be 2-3 months waiting time). I would recommend TC after You´ve tried out the BP-Sub. Maybe You just want to get other watches like vintage Rolexes or Breitling, Tudor, Audemars Piguet, Panerai and find value there and stay happy with the BP Sub-C or discover You like the classic looks more etc. BP Sub-C and BP Seadweller
  20. PAM 193, 47mm Submersible (next to the Seadweller here)
