  1. Hambone, those are 2 lovely, lovely dogs and the action-pic is just great - what a fun. Out in springtime with the Sub-c
  2. Hi and welcome. Buy the Daytona when You already have several/other watches and not as the first one. It´s a complicated watch to buy - later - from a TD You already had several transactions with, at least it will run on arrival, 25% die on the first few days. Never use the chrono, use it as little as possible because if it runs in the first place the movement gets worse over time. There is a brand new quartz version out with microstepper for the Chrono and ticking seconds at the small six.
  3. Hi and welcome from Europes "Florida" just across the ocean. Quite exotic tastes with WC&W we share Have fun being around
  4. With the passing of time this continues to be a great choice. Looks good in all situations without being flashy, the chrono is useful and practical, have also used the rotating bezel for timing quite a lot and whenever I just need to grab and go without setting the time or when I just think a Rolex or AP isn´t adequate and the Breitling is too big it´s the one I pick. This TAG continues to be a very good choice imho.
  5. Hi and welcome. Both Trusty and Toro are trusted dealers on rwg so You are at ease with either of them and You will enjoy forum support. Beware of iparadis, unknown here, if it´s iparadisiac.co they are scammers (highly priced very, very low quality watches, not those pictured on the site). In the long run You might be better served with the daydate blue Aquaracer or the 500m new one, the Grand is not as well readable as one might think, but than when You set Your mind on it to get it.... would be ok to research it and read about it here on the forum there are pics and descriptions around. Have fun and buy from one of those 2.
  6. Actually I find the DSSD is very well repped. From what I have seen I would not put my money in the most expensive from BK and my personal choice for this model would be Sead/Supermirrors to sort me a nice one. Sead often takes his time, sometimes he also has stock, so if You are not too patient go with someone else. From Andrew I would take the Asian ETA think it´s a bit less than 300, but You have to go carefully through the versions as there are several differences on lume, bracelet, clasp etc.. Good luck
  7. Gaming Violin music star Lindsey Stirling http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inb8MMZ-QmA
  8. Hi and welcome. Tomorrow You will be very busy adjusting the bracelet and placing 2 new orders:) Do You have the watch repair tool kit from Amazon already? Have fun, waiting for the pics and Your opinion on the breitling
  9. Nope. You go to amazon and buy something like this http://www.amazon.co.uk/TRIXES-Repair-Adjust-Battery-Changing/dp/B00AENXUI2/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1395005972&sr=8-2&keywords=watch+repair+tool+kit (I just picked any, choose the one You like). Those are cheap and always come in handy for this and future watches and other minor repairs around the home. It also has the tools to remove the bracelet if You want to put it on a leather or NATO strap. I would order one too.
  10. Hi, the dial looks very good imho, the inner rehault engraving is perfectly centered, the bezel has the dots You pointed out, something on the 30 too and and between 20 and 25 at the edge of the bezel looks smudgy BUT all this could just be some dust or dirt or glue from removal of a protective cover. You´ll have to look when it arrives. Datewheel looks a bit off to the right, TC´s are off to the left. Sample picture of my BP sub - have it for months and never noticed if the datewheel was "off" to the right, depends on the angle You look at it which normally is slightly from the left through the lupe and than it looks centered and is perfectly readable, with 2 digits seems perfectly centered also from above. On my bezel there is no dot near the 5, no scratch besides the 20 and nothing below the 30, all just from the pic. Like Mike said, You have to take a good look when it arrives. Good luck
  11. Hi and welcome. That was a really nice support from Stormtoop:) Hope to see some pics and description when this arrives.
  12. Apart the seconds hand this one is actually cool: Citizen Eco-Drive Alarm Chronograph Perpetual Calendar BL8000-54A Watch - See more at: http://www.creationwatches.com/products/citizen-perpetual-calendar-55/citizen-eco-drive-alarm-chronograph-perpetual-calendar-bl8000-54a-watch-2196.html#sthash.UE5i4j4o.dpuf http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C3-jxWoUbxM
  13. For its workmanship, ease of use, turning bezel and looks this little Seiko FFF quickly became one of my favourites:) and because it´s Saturday the Flyback 212 is also out
  14. Hi and welcome to rwg. Lots of fun reading awaits You if You are looking for it. Some nice add-ons to Your growing collection also. Just look around.
  15. Hi and welcome to the forum. Lots of research and reading are awaiting You and it´s fun. The IWC Portuguese as beautiful as it is it´s expensive and will break down shortly because the seconds at six work unreliably in the replica and will freeze the movement after a short time (dead watch). Best option is to look into the IWC Ingenieur laureus sport from Noob factory that doesn´t have that problem. Other possibility is to look for seconds at nine. Wearing an IWC 2008 Cousteau Divers right now, so welcome to the club:)
  16. It´s not the best rep around precisely because the depth gauge function does not work. It works as a GMT hand without the respective dial and from the position You can tell where the 24 hrs are. The yellow hand is easily (independently) adjustable so You can move it to off in a flip or hide it behind the hour hand for pictures.
  17. I would check out the KW PAM 312, at least it has a date and a 1950´s case - but that´s just personal preference. The basics are: the less "things" a rep has, the less can "go wrong" so the Pam 111 is an excellent starting point.
  18. And as I was just taking a look at Steinharts once again as those are well built watches thought I might as well suggest these vintage looks at a reasonable price: http://www.steinhartwatches.de/en/OCEAN-One-Vintage,817.html (available April onwards)
  19. What an awesome ultra-vintage collection. Very nice, specially the double-red first and Explorer I. Thx for sharing.
  20. Price- and functionwise the white 16570 Expl II would be my choice. Did You take a look at the Tudor Prince SS Oysterdate Ranger I, goes from around 2200 to 3300 USD (and more)
  21. Not exactly what You´re looking for because it´s got the swiss quartz - but looks like an auto: Tag Heuer Aquaracer Grande Date Alarm - with a bit of luck available for eur 996,- (or used) these are the references for both models: Also Called: WAP111ZBA0831 Notes: This is the 2012 update for the previous TAG Heuer Alarm model WAF111Z.BA0801 Curious to see if there is a reasonable mechanical one....
  22. Hi, coming in a bit late if You´re going for the AP 15400 with the display caseback it´s really worth to prefer the more expensive movement Myota 9015 it looks much, really much better and it´s worth the difference. Have compared it thoroughly to my BP version with Swiss ETA and it´s nicer when buying new. This watch is made special by the unique SS bracelet it comes with, would get that one too. http://www.pureti.me/product/royal-oak-41mm-15400-11-best-edition-silver-dial-on-ss-bracelet-miyota9015/
  23. Nice comparison pics, thx for sharing. The bezel numbers on the V5.1 are smaller, how noticeable is it on the wrist? Any more differences apart from the crystal ar? As You have both for now this is most interesting:)
  24. Congrats on Your special Diver. It´s a fantastic watch to have. Don´t wear it all the time but mine hasn´t even stopped in the last 10 weeks:) Imho the next to get is the APRO 15400.
