A tip... Give the buckle a rub with a nailbuffer on "fine" then "smooth" for a beautiful satin look. The "stock" overpolished buckle feels a bit cheapish otherwise (same for the Rolex one they have).

Here's a little mid-case update.
I've accepted the fact that however I try, it wont be a replica, so i might as well do my own take on it.
I present to you thiiiiiiiiiin lugs and an updated bezel (that I'm getting quite satisfied with).
Is there ANYONE that can guide me toward a crystal gasket and double domed sapphire that fits a gen-spec midcase?

Make sure that you're checking his items from ebay.com and not eBay.co.uk...
That usually works for a lot of stores.
I would love to take one as well. Would Tonny guy provide some QC pics later?
Also, I looked at his ebay store and lot of dials were sold for 120-200 usd (according to feedback history) but nothing for sail now here.. Or at least I can't see nothing. Same was with Ruffles time for me, can't see their stock on ebay.

Considering the new "ingod" recently found I want to build a gilt chapter ring sub.
Are there any good cases sub (no pun intended) 300 USD or is the general consensus to go for a HR 5513 or cartel equivalent and forget about the crown guard fetish described above?

Patience is always the name of the game with these projects isn't it... It looks great, it'll be worth it in the end.
I'm unused to the lost in translation. In my line of work, everyone speaks English... Well..
I'll ask BigDaz to fluff up the lume and hopefully draw away from the vanished gilt surrounds...
there's one extra dial with correct 116113-hands going to him for reluming / texture-magic. Anyone interested?

See attached files for some 5512-pictures (+ other stuff) ready for Printing (or Reading)

2 steps closer 1 step back...
I asked HR to make the indices 10% bigger... so he made the lume 10% bigger without enhancing the rings around. So now... no "gilt" around the lume plots.
Wooptidoo..

Hmm.. http://www.puretime.watch/product/vintage-tudor-submariner-7928-yellow-lume-dial-a21j/
And a 26-27 mm 5513 gilt dial, and a ETA-adaptor ring + a slow-beat ETA and a lot of work could be a budget goodie.
---
Just got a response from Tonny, they wont do custom (irregular) designs if only 1 piece. His watchmaker doesn't think it adds up, and I can understand him.

BK sells Noob Subs that are supplied with Swiss ETA (often used) from the maker, and also he has a very strict quality control, which means that you won't get crooked indices, misaligned dials etc.
That's what you pay the "extra" for..

Interesting...
I asked him earlier if he could do custom prints, e.g. on 29 mm ETA-dials, haven't received any response. If so... I might be redoing my Tempus Machina-dial and also a 6538 2-liner for a HR6538.
yea, he is one of the eBay guys that sells "refinished" dials printed with the Swiss ink. they aren't perfect by any means but are interesting none the less. I pulled the trigger on a dial from one of the eBay guys the other day, figured for a couple hundred bucks is worth a shot. based on shots I've seen it looks a lot more like gold printed on the plate and not negative relief but there is a charm to appearance nonetheless, despite the inaccuracies to gen. here's a couple shots of the one I picked up, I'll throw out some more when I get it in hand.
Looks nice, thanks for the update! Is there any juice in that lume or is it just for appearances?

He says the gilt dials are printed with "Swiss ink".
Is the gold in negative relief? Or is the gold printed on top of the black?
Hahaha.. yeah the swiss ink..
Most of the gilt dials seem to be in negative relief, however I have e-mailed and asked wether these are made by him or by another maker, and asked to see productions shots. We will see...

If you can provide the font (name) the text and the height and width of some of the letters in MM ( Im from europe ) I could make the AI vector file for you and / or export it to PDF for printing in high resolution. An example image or photo what you would want to replica would be the best.
Its also the letter spatial and width that needs to be taken into account.
You can use www.whatthefont.com, upload an image of the font to recognize what font was used. Just follow the online wizard after uploading your image.
Awesome!
AI is better than vectorized PSD.
Im going for walkover.
I was just told by Ken of Raffles time he was out of stock about 2 weeks ago. So do you mean Yuki is not out of stock? How do I buy these on ebay as you did? If it's the low cost one I will buy one for a reference but still do the etching How-To and share.
You know what, you're actually correct.
His two blogs arent correct, I always use the eBay-site: http://stores.ebay.com/The-Raffles-Shop
And currently the Tudor caseback is out of stock.

That was an interesting picture...it has since been replaced. But in review of KW and other TD's photos I have noticed there are some that have the new bezel & Strap, others have the first bezel with the new strap... we are in a period of transition between the two versions, so be wary.
The force is telling me that not saving 150USD to get the watch properly relumed will lead to fear, fear leads to anger, and anger leads to the classifieds. Many brave have fallen to the classifieds.

If you like the Big Crown "Project X" check out my thread...
Or purchase one of Pbdad's Project X-builds, they usually go for about 800-1200 USD in the used-section, usually on repgeek.
Thursday the 7th wristcheck...
