  1. Strongly agree with Jack. I use the CWP t19 on gen watches. Very good profile and clarity. Much better IMHO than a genuine service crystal. Well worth the extra cost.
  2. Lol, I can't stop laughing....now Man you got me good[emoji1591][emoji1591]
  3. Awesome congrats. That guy is pretty cool, glad he deleted it. That thread is insane. I will keep my eyes out for a gilt dial.
  4. I saw that. You would have been ok but someone quoted you. Not a lot of action in the vintage area outside the usual suspects so hope it goes unnoticed.
  5. You had me my friend. I was actually getting [censored]. Then the noob piled on and that really chapped me. I contacted all the experts I know. Thank God for DBane. He talked me off the ledge.... Lol, I am laughing now.
  6. Oh [censored]. Now I got you. Thanks DB[emoji1303]. Dang it Bob I was in my office with a loupe and high Rez pics from all over the world. Along with re reading a bunch of articles. I went letter by letter through that dial and she is perfect. Well I guess I did learn more about the reference.
  7. What watch are you looking at. There are no stains or missing parts on the Lume. The watch is 50 years old. The hands have some natural corrosion. I had several people evaluate this piece that I trust. I have looked a hundreds of references of 66 5513's over the past couple of years.
  8. Which photo? I have studied a lot of these Bart dials. I don't have my set up here but I do have my olli clip. Sorry those are crappy pics and are worthless. I am still at work. I will shoot some good ones this weekend. The N lines up like all the Barts HQ has sold. Looking through a loop it looks good to me and looks like these on HQ. http://www.hqmilton.com/search/results/search&keywords=1966+bart/ OR this thread http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=376415 Check the links and see what you see. Maybe I am missing something here.
  9. Pretty sure. Why you see something. I had several folks I trust evaluate it and it came from a very reliable vintage dealer.
  10. Change up time. Ok the birth year Grail has landed. She does not disappoint. Very happy with her. Nice early 50th birthday present. Quick pic.
  11. Ok guys here is a quickie. Polished up the plexi and put on the rivet. I had to trade two of my favorite gens and a truck load of cash [emoji383][emoji383] for this. She didn't disappoint. Dial is flawless.
  12. Congratulations! I thought that was a gen yesterday, but just was not sure in the pics. The hour hand is so close to the dial on the gen it is an easy tell. That and the CHS of course. Enjoy my friend.
  13. Wearing this until FedEx shows up [emoji51][emoji51][emoji51][emoji51][emoji51]
  14. Thank you for the nice words. Should be delivered to my office by 10:30!
  15. Good morning, After searching for a very long time, I have finally found my birth year grail watch. I have literally been checking multiple sites multiple times a day searching for an excellent example. Will not bore you with a overly long story, but he is the quick version. Started with Rolex in 1987 as a young man, for most of the last 30 years I would buy a new one every few years and trade in the old one. I found the rep forums while doing research for a 116610. I was still still stuck in the 5 digit models and was not sure about the 6 digits. Did not care for the new cases. Anyways I joined here to try a ceramic Sub and got a BK and tried a bunch of modern Rolex reps/frankens. I found that I did not care for the new cases or the new models in general. I stuck around and fell in love with vintage Rolex and being part of the watch collecting communities. I was always a 'watch guy" but not really WIS until I found this place. Did a bunch of really cool franken builds, but in the end went back to gens, but 4 and 5 digit models. All of this activity on the various forums really inspired me to find a birth year gilt piece. I was born in 1966 which is a transitional year so both gilt and matte Subs and GMT's from that year. In the end the 5513 Gilt Bart reference became the holy grail for me. Gilt dials just do something for me that other references do not. I have been close a couple of times to buying one, but it just did not work out. These are really hard to come by and rarely are for sale. It seems the collectors are hoarding these. So this week I was doing my usual search of sites and found a 66 Bart in excellent condition from a well known vintage dealer. I bought the head only, as I had a mint 1966 7206 bracelet just waiting for this piece. Watch will be here tomorrow, but I am like a little kid and wanted to share this experience with my watch collecting brothers. Pics from the seller. I will do some follow up photos in the next few days.
  16. Easiest way to buy a 116610 is to contact someone like David SW or Takuya. Both are trusted sellers on TRF and also have their own websites. I have bought from both and they are excellent. Great service and you can have the watch the next day. Plenty of these models out there with box, papers and warranty. Save some $ over buying from the AD. Newer models most likely will have Rolex Warranty with them. Rolex changed warranty to 5 years after July 2015, so if warranty is important look for one after that. Watches prior to that had 2 year warranty. Production date does not affect this, but when it was first sold. These dealers buy them from AD's and with everything you get from the AD. I bought a brand new model and my name was on the original warranty. Only kept it a month...I am a vintage guy;) The other 2 were 5 digit references with full sets but no warranty. I see used 116610's on their sites. If they don't have it, ask and they can usually get it pretty fast.
