Rolex applied for a new GMT patent this month. Looks like the bezel will actually operate GMT function. There is a thread over on TRF. Lots of speculation on if it will be a new SS Pepsi. Maybe a white dialed Pepsi...that would be a modern Rolex I would love to see.
I have some parts from Baleindessable, I guess I better take a closer look to ensure they are genuine....I also was close to buying one of the said "cases" that were listed a while back. Grateful for the forum and that we look out for each other. Thanks to the mods for taking care of business. This kind of thing makes me sad as to me, this is a gentleman's hobby. I agree with Nanuq, reputation is very important.
If you do a search, dbane did a comparison of spring bars not that long ago. I think the consensus was that ST spring bars were the closest to gen and are reasonably priced. I have several sets and they are nice and functional. I did not have good luck with the bars I bought from sellers on ebay. The springs inside are not as good and they did not seem to last or function as well. I do change straps and bracelets a lot though.
Birth year so lots of reading. Cool period as both the Sub and GMT offered gilt and non gilt dials in 66. As far as I know regular crown guards on a 66 5512/13 Sub.
