  1. One question. Is the rivited bracelet correct for the 1665? I personally think it looks really good but i have never seen a GEN with a rivited oyster. I would be interested to know from one of the experts. My 1665 also has a rivited bracelet but i was gunna put on a hollow endlink bracelet and save the rivited for my 1680 project. Lonnie
  2. now is the time to start modding the broken LV! haha start with the crown guards and so on. Get some practice and you never know, you might end up with a really good looking case your first try! Good luck!
  3. Ive seen so many pics of this watch all over the place and the rehaut always looks different to me. If anyone has this watch can you tell me if the rehaut is correct or not? crown guards can be modded but you NEED to start with a good straight (none conical) and deep rehaut. I need a base for a mod project and i dont think i need to start with an MBW if im making a 16800 transitional style. Any opinions are appreciated. Or what do you recomend to start with? So far this ETA noob looks like the best choice. I am gunna build a sub with saphire crystal, drilled lug holes, Gen springbars and SEL solid mid link bracelet. It will be my new daily wear beater watch. It will have the other mods also. CG's, crown, insert etc Submariners NEED lug holes IMHO... they shouldnt have ever changed that. I always thought it was a HUGE feature of the watch. Looks to "dressy" without the big holes thanks Lonnie
  4. Yeah go get a Noob or begin-mariner and fully mod it for less than the price of this watchmaker9 mystery watch. He sounds pretty shifty to me. Pricing way to high for what you get. Get a "noob", mod the guards and case, put on a GEN crown, insert and ETA movement and you've got an AMAZING rep for cheap. Lonnie
  5. absolutely amazing!! WOW Have you done the others yet? I cant wait to see them too! Lonnie
  6. I have a Breitling Bentley T chrono 49mm from Paul. Its got "light AR" and its actually not too bad at all. doesnt have the GEN blue glow look to it but it really cuts down reflections compared to a watch without AR. I was impressed. Lonnie
  7. Looks good!! I think this is my next rep purchase. i didnt used to like the BCE but its been growing on me.
  8. I recently had a stainless chrono avenger black dial swiss ETA and it was a very well built watch and great dial. the only downfall was ZERO anti-reflective coating. Half the time you couldnt read the time becasue of reflections. I finally got [censored] off and sold it and bought an Asian Bentley T chrono from Paul. I should have kept it and just replaced the crystal. It was one of the best reps ive ever owned for fit and finish and detail. I didnt get it from anyone here on the board. It was from a firend and not sure where from originally. Lonnie
  9. im not a fan of two tone watches at all, but WOW that Navi is beautiful. I'll probably even buy one eventually
  10. It looks fake... only beacause of its goofy parts combinations. ha ha ha Very colorful watch.. Some Rolex store probably built this from a box of random spare submariner parts LOL I'm surprised it doesnt have a red/blue GMT bezel or something Or maybe one of those Cheetah print straps like Pugwashs "PIMP" Daytona
  11. my eta sub will do for a couple of days before it stops. I know i always look at it after its been sitting for a few days and think "WOW its still running?" haha not the case with my asian 7750.. it lasts about 24 hours.
  12. You wont pass cZ's as diamonds inless its a stud earring or something. Diamonds (especially on a full diamond watch) are bright and white color.. cz's are just blah looking clear stones. Still a nice look though. You can prob get away with a cz bezel but anymore and it looks fake unless they are real diamonds. I had a FULL diamond BCE black dial done up a while back and it was BRIGHT. i have a cz encrusted rep day-date and its not even the same thing in any kind of light. I love diamonds so I personally like diamonds on Breitlings.. i have friends with diamond super avengers and my one boss's has a full diamond BCE (GEN) and my other boss just got a new stainless bentley Flying B done in full diamonds.. awesome looking watch. Lonnie
  13. Do you find that the good replica fliplocks are almost as good as the Gen clasp? after all there isnt much to it. Lonnie
  14. are those GEN daytona 6263 cases in his listings? $1250? Looks like hes building some REALLY nice frankens!! WOW now i want one! LOL here we go again...
  15. I havent bought one in prob 4-5 years so you are probably right haha. Wow all this submariner stuff is getting expensive LOL I wish i could go back 10 years and buy $100,000 in 1680 and 1665 watches and parts haha (lets not even talk about Comex... ) I'd be rich as hell!
  16. I agree. His other items for sale kinda fill in the blanks. Still looks like a very nicely built watch though.
  17. I have one of these Tudor dates. Its been re-dialed to a Rolex MOP Datejust. GEN movmt. Turns out nice except that its noticably smaller than a datejust and thats the look i was going for.. oh well.. i guess thats not really what you are doing anyways haha. Buy a good complete older GEN with the rolex crown and bracelet and redial it. easy Its a pretty small watch and on a 19mm oyster.
  18. I always liked the look of the 3-6-9 layout but when it comes to asian 7750's, I feel a little more comfortable with a 12-9-6 layout. The other one is usually modded to get that configuration like the Rolex Daytonas have. Either way the movements are pretty good except for that POS seconds @ 6 but lets not get into that ha ha ha. My personal choice would be the stainless one with the 12-9-6. I'm not much of a two tone guy
  19. Ya you can usually find a 93150 bracelet with 580 ends for a couple hundred or so bucks in not bad condition. This guy is dreaming.
  20. ive always swam with all my submariners gen or rep and never had a problem. i wouldnt take a rep breitling chronograph in the water though.. haha..
  21. I went to the watch store in Vegas in March.. didnt even know it was there and i stumbled upon it... WOW!
  22. You guys are lucky.. mine lasted 2 weeks.. wore it 3 times.
