  1. I have the pam253 from Silix. Make sure you don't order the "swiss" version from Trustytime.. the dial is extremely inaccurate on that model. I dont usually run the chrono hand, because i personally think it looks cooler at 12. It's a great watch and i've had it for almost 7 months now. If it's accuracy to the gen that you're looking for then this watch is not it. To start.. the watch does not have a flyback complication and will only function as a normal chrono. apart from that, some minor dial flaws are what keep this watch from being aesthetically perfect. overall it's great. Enjoy it!
  2. there should be no need to advertise the watches to any kind of other forum unless he's trying to make a profit in it somehow. It sounds like maybe that's what he might be doing. Otherwise he would just post the dealers' own links and let people discover for themselves. It sounds like what he's trying to do is build up a demand and not let others know his source so that he can drive up prices and take a chunk.... Hey victoria long time no see... did you change your username?
  3. first of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR! secondly, Not even "EVERY" gen has AR these days... In the case of HBB the AR is present on the gen and therefore the HBB "Lite" is less accurate than the HBB. The only real difference in the array of "lite" versions and the original reps would be the presence of AR since Silix's Lite versions are all offered with the better 28k high beat movt. right. i guess i just repeated you Where can the black magic lite be found? haven't seen that out yet!
  4. I think you're right. Only difference is the AR. The less expensive 28800 7750 is better than one found on the expensive one as well.. at least that's what i've heard. You're paying more for AR. I guess because the flaw is very noticeable.
  5. why are the sides of the watch case brushed and not polished?? never seen that before in an sosf!
  6. CORRECTION..... SOSF... not SFSO
  7. sure is upside down... i wouldn't be able to put on my watch with my strap like that.. but to each his... where'd you get the strap? i'd love to get a nice strap like that for my chopard white
  8. hublonium... i'd be embarassed to say that my watch was made of such a material... why don't they just call it.. "aluminum alloy" that's what it is anyways
  9. it appears so..... My BASOSFXP is great
  10. no. In many cases lots of watches have different cases as well as movements... silix-prime has the selection of watches that are most talked about on this website.. in addition to the "super-reps" like Breitling Superocean Steelfish, Panerai's, IWC cousteau divers, Hublot and Chopard watches.. Only by from watch-silix if you're looking for something relatively cheap or with a quartz movement.
  11. Who can debate the beauty of the SOSF.. it's just soo much more... well.. ACCURATE than the BCE... not to mention it goes great with that multicolored rubix cube suit you have in your closet from 1987. notice the "AR" on my Asian SOSF.... haha.. it's a beautiful watch.. i'd never pay the extra 150 for the ETA with AR... why should I when my 21j looks so stunning anyways... can't wait to pick up my rubix cube suit from the cleaners tomorrow! watch out i might break out with some Tektronic dancing to match
  12. Correct. Silix does not Market his HBB as "Light". His HBB is different from Andrew and Josh.. at least that's what he's told me. His watch does have the better movment.. in my eyes, his version is a more practical buy for this reason
  13. That World Wide language would be ENGLISH and not Esperanto or even chinese.... -80% of the world's electronically-stored information is in english -Three-quarters of the world's mail is written in English - English is the main language of book, newspapers, arports and air-traffic control, international business and technology, diplomacy, sport, international competitions, pop music and advertising. -English has official or special status in at least 75 countries with a total population of over 2billion -A quarter of the world's population, 1.2billion-1.5billion, speak English to some level of competence, By 2050 this will have grown to 50%. -There are around 320-372 million native speaker of English in the world, and English is spoken as a second language by around 235 to 370million people. -Over 2/3 of the world's scientists read in English.
  14. Let me know if any of you have the chopard deployant clasp. Mine is malfunctioning and I would love another.
  15. Exotic eh?? they say that bull testicle skin is one of the softest most supple leathers in the world....
  16. how the hell did you not see that deep ass scratch the first time when you looked at the watch and then posted.. "watch looks great, no scratches"..... honestly.. its not as if that scratch is un-noticeable.. and furthermore it seems like an authorized dealer would have certainly noticed it.. especially since you came to him with it "new" and unfitted.....
  17. I'm with lanikai.. you've said in an earlier post that the watch arrived to you perfectly with no marks... This would imply that the damage done to the watch happened during your physical ownership.. not from the dealer. That being said... You should probably be charged any and all fees for shipping as the dealer has replaced or fixed your watch for no extra charge aside from the shipping fee. If you're trying to pass your recently scratched watch off as factory defective you might be out of luck, as dealers often read the forum, and he could have easily seen your positive posting after receiving the watch... Good luck whatever happens!
  18. And I guess the millions of americans behind our president DO care what anyone else thinks... On the contrary Ryyannon. We're talking about extremism here... iran or america its all the same. We don't actually CARE that Ahmademijan openly hates israel, nor does it concern us, until sufficient intelligence dictates otherwise. Until then, america laughs at him, the same as he laughs at us... Whenever a side of "good" and "evil" is created, no compromise can ever be made.. that is extremism... He is evil... america is good..... I see where you're going wit this, but this extreme support from Israel vs. Palestine comes from where? I guess living in france doesn't help that mentality either. After seeing the blatant discrimination and scared reaction to Islamic extremism in France after the passing of "La loi du Foulard" in 2004 when i lived there, I'd given up hope.
  19. P.S. Just shook Prince Felipe's hand last week in Plaza del Sol in front of the "Communidad de madrid" building where he was exiting from a meeting.... people were gathered.. i stuck out my hand and he took it firmly! Actually I'm 100% positive that it will be recorded on video, every speaker that came to my university was taped by the university communications department for university records as well as future presentations. The question is whether or not any parts of this occurrence will be released to public.....
  20. In all seriousness, if Israel didn't have the U.S's support they might resort to the kinds of verbal bashings that iran and Palestinian groups tend to use against Israel.. the fact is.. Israel doesn't need to say a damn thing in this debate... they have the upper hand... the u.s. has got their back.... If Ehud Barack had been a proponent for a nuclear weapons program during his regime and his regime was (imaginatively) a non-friendly counterpart of the u.s he might have become just as well known for his colorfulness against palestine as ahmadenijad is known for against israel...... history repeats itself but doesn't...
  21. V, was the rock wearing his Pam296? haha.. This is very true.. Examples are not necessary, and it is very obvious that Ahmadenijad will be very cautious during his speech. He knows the feelings of most Americans and i don't think he'll do anything outrageously stupid or say anything chidingly. you have to also remember, that a school like university of miami.. not particularly known for its academics in the field of social sciences or arts and humanities.. (i.e. political science, international relations and diplomatic policy..) IS well known for its large populous student body and recognition in the household, big universities are ALWAYS great places for presidents and vice-presidents alike. The speeches given at a school like Miami i can only imagine to be be more "SPEECH" than discourse or "open forum". In comparison to my small school at ELON University where the student population was less than 5,000 students, a presence like Ehud Barack, Noor of Jordan or Desmond Tutu are seen by all students, and in a very "academic type" "town-hall" discussion setting. With questions ALWAYS allowed at the end of the speech (if the speaker is so willing). A school like columbia which is well known for its law (and in my world), and International Relations programs will certainly be a great place for any international discourse to occur. The forum will presumably be much smaller than what you witnessed with Gore and Clinton and the quality and interest of the spectators should increase accordingly... should be interesting to see... will this recorded? and aired on televsion?
  22. Of course Ahmadenijad will have his speech carefully and ariculately corrected and viewed beforehand.. just like any other person.. And i'm sure it will be quite toned down. But What i do refer to, when i say "academic forum" was the possibility of average american students to ask their own questions to a man that has heavily influenced american foreign policy during his presidency (more than any other iranian govt in the last half-century)... I view any kind of verbal contact and discourse between world leaders and students as a beneficial one. In reference to your "scream trash" podium.. what has bush been screaming for the last 8 years.?? At least Ahmadenijad brings something fresh to the table.... haha. what a personality! I won't go into the israel/palestine debate.. but sometimes i tend to agree with palestinian positions on many levels... particularly ahmadenijad's view of the israel/lebanon situation this past summer and the summer before. I wouldn't venture so far as to compare Israel to Hitler (as ahmadenijad did).... but i can read in between the lines.......
  23. for some reason.. extreme sarcasm just doesn't come across as clearly on the internet as it does in person... or does it...? vaguely it does sound familiar... although I'd substitute consensual sex with young children to: Consensual sex with albino rats.. or maybe even............FORCEFULLY converting any non-u.s. aligned democratic state into a democratic one..... Thanks for calling me a good man... even though i didn't feel as if i was screaming my "good" man nature at all... if that was the case then I'm sorry for hurting your ears. I heard, when inserted into the ear canal, Novocaine topical gel not only blocks sound.. but also numbs excruciating pain associated with the tempanic membrane.. all in fun :-) haha. p.s. you need to get to that restaurant i was telling you about.. take pictures then write a a full review here on the forum
  24. Interesting views ryyannon, I myself am a strong proponent to open forum ACADEMIC speaking engagements. In university I was able to see historical and (sometimes)controversial figures like: Queen Noor of Jordan, President of Pakistan Benazir Bhutto, Walter Cronkite, David Gergen, Prime Minister(former) of Israel Ehud Barak, Desmond Tutu and Colin Powell. I'm not saying that I support or denounce anything that Ahmadenijad has said in any of his televised appearances, but I CERTAINLY support any kind of debate or lecturing in an academic forum. I would also say the same of Hitler or Sadaam Hussein, Fidel Castro, Francisco Franco.. etc. Any dialogue that affords young people the oppurtunity to become active, and take part in our political and/or international system of diplomacy is always a plus. I think that too many "intellectuals" base their decisions on politics and "general consensus" without thinking about the common (usually naive) youth population. What better way for people my age (20s) to learn about things going on in our world, than to hear it directly from the people in charge of the world. Watching Ahmadenijad on YOUTUBE is not the same as having the oppurtunity to ask him questions of your own formulating in an academic forum.... I SUPPORT COLUMBIA's decision!
