anyone here repair jewelry with jewelry solder?
cableguy replied to cableguy's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
@ Freddy - I'm not trying to Attach anything, just fill the hole. i would hope it would be strong enough to hold itself in there. this gray epoxy you are talking about is that JB Weld? I also thought about that, but I figured that solder would look more metal like. thoughts? -
I have a small problem with my watch that I was thinking might be fixed with jewelry silver solder..... hopefully we can have someone who had done/knows about it to chime in. I want to just kinda fill this slight imperfection in the back of my watch near the case tube with silver jewelers solder, (the same stuff they use to fix broken prongs on rings, links on necklaces etc.... think it will work? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Silver Bearing Solder-It (SP-7) is probably the most versatile of our solder pastes. It will solder most ferrous and non-ferrous metals including copper, brass, bronze nickel, platinum, (some) chrome, monel, galvanized, (some)stainless, gold, silver, coated steel, cast iron, black steel, steel. Silver Solder-It is extremely conductive because of its silver content. It produces extremely strong joints (5 to 10 times the strength of 60/40 solder) because it contains NO LEAD. Because of its low flow temperature, you can solder small jobs with the heat from a match or lighter. It is particularly useful for jewelry, electrical connections, board work, miniature connectors, battery pack connections. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *please note this is a macro pic, so it looks much larger then it is *compare it to the size of the crown*. (but it still bothers me either way)

^ I'll split the lot with you Lonnie. lol 1mbw for each of us

yes or no? i'm wondering if i can buy a cheap pam and just fix the canon pin by makeing it so the hands can sit closer to each other? i thought i read something like that. if i like this watch, ill then cough up the 350-400 for a fully modded one. **EDIT* so I've been told the newer asian swan neck movement pam's dont need a cannon pin fix. Hmmmm maybe thats the route to go down. can anyone confirm this? and if so what dealer did you order it from?

after talking about my 1st fossil watch being a black carbon fiber dial... help me find a watch, brand really doesnt matter..... i have no idea what i'm looking for except that.
-
All you fossil haters... My 1st Watch was a Fossil....it was a SS band Chronometer with Carbon Fiber Dial. I wore that watch for 3 years before it died. I loved that watch. Its what started my love for watches. Now my tastes have been refined, but I'm not sure Id be here today if it wasnt for that very 1st Fossil watch =)

I bought my MBW 1 month ago, got it 1 week later.... they are out there. just because you dont know where to look doesnt meant noone sells them. I hope people dont spend 600.00 on this pos watch. a MBW is just as good at this point.
-
its not the same....i posted in the other thread that the min hands are different lengths.... thats a pretty big flaw with a short min hand.

So many different models of Planet Ocean, who to buy from?
cableguy replied to agepag's topic in The Omega Area

when i was trying to buy from him..the price kept changing..... it was 200 then 210 then 240.... im sure it wont be 200.00 when u tell him what u want... good luck
